Did some sleuthing & found out that the bride Doña Sol María de la Blanca de Medina y Orléans-Braganza, 54th Countess of Ampurias's mother is:

Princess Maria da Glória of Orléans-Braganza who's mother was:

Princess María de la Esperanza of Bourbon-Two Sicilies who had a sister called:

Princess María de las Mercedes of Bourbon-Two Sicilies
who married Juan Carlos I of Spain &
& their son is Juan Carlos II

The brides mother is the maternal cousin of Juan Carlos II

I think I have that right.

& the photo I've added is the part of the above article about the bride's mother.

So I don't think the brides father is related to Juan Carlos II (unless they have shared ancestors from way back) however he just happens to look a bit like Juan Carlos II.

Now my head feels slightly scrambled & @Maireas this was harder than finding your dress from the late 80s!

Good sleuthing! Though I don't think JC's was king himself. IIRC he was Count of Barcelona but ceded his right to the throne to his son.

Well, @TracyBeakerSoYeah - that is impressive! It's so convoluted and those names are quite brilliant! I remember watching a programme about Monaco and there was a Princess of Two Sicilies enjoying life on the Riviera.

Why have one Sicily when you can have two??

I think it must be the angle of the photo or something. It makes her look like she's gained a couple of stone.
It's a nice outfit other than that.

@KnickerlessParsons maybe it is the angle. We don't discuss women's body shapes here, which I love. I think Charlene can be really beautiful but not in this look.
