Mocking choice of shoes is in effect mocking the wearer, no?

There's no mocking.
We criticise the clothes and the accessories.
Not the woman.

I think Mary looks good in Erdem (did I really say that!), it is a little fussy, but she can carry it off.
The shoes have an interesting texture, which makes them a bit different.
Carol Philip is gawgus. The best imo was the late Prince Philip in his heyday. Elizabeth was a lucky lady!

Of course there is. Poking fun at someone’s choice of footwear IS mockery. There is no denying that.

RockaLock · 16/06/2023 16:59

All I can say is, don't read the Telegraph fashion article today. Apparently the white stiletto goes with any colour dress, and "If you’re searching for a formal shoe that you could wear with any frock, this is the one".

Complete with photo of Kate last year at Wimbledon, in a green dress and aforementioned shoes. Let's hope the royal ladies don't read it Grin

Cam22 · 16/06/2023 17:01

The Erdem garments are awful. Not even Katecan carry them off and that is saying something. The prints are fussy, the neckline is too high and frills are sadly too visible.

I've been over pondering this and looking at the Erdem website and I think anything he does with sleeves is possibly too much and swamps some people. There's some nice sleeveless dresses on there.

I am denying it.
You misunderstand this thread.
I have no idea why.
Style and Beauty only, please.

Trooping tomorrow. I predict a mahoosive hat for Cams. Do we think Kate will resurrect the coat dress?

OP posts:
viewsoftheshard · 16/06/2023 17:18

I think in this weather it will be massive hats for everyone!

Maireas · 16/06/2023 17:20

Please tell me they can ditch the tights...

I think it's going to be cooler in London tomorrow than it has been this past week so she may go for a coat dress. She does tend to stick to them for the occasions like the Trooping. I wonder if the children will be there too?

And a mahoosive hat for Camilla goes without saying!

Maireas · 16/06/2023 17:30

A dress would be nicer I think. I also hope we get to see the children!
Pastels are usually de rigeur for this, aren't they?

Surely not. They are Royalty and must dress appropriately. It’s called having standards.

Serenster · 16/06/2023 17:42

I am predicting that Kate will re-wear the yellow wrap-front effect dress that she wore about this time last year for QEII’s Platinum jubilee service.

(Of course now she’ll doubtless turn up in a brand new McQueen ensemble)

OP posts:
Maireas · 16/06/2023 17:44

Ah, @Serenster ... I was thinking yellow...
Any bets?

Tights jakers I'd need a lot of sudocreme if forced to wear those. Stockings more practical in this heat.

Remember the broderie anglaise dress that would suit me fine. OH and a parasol of course.

Cam22 · 16/06/2023 17:45

Whatever Kate wears, she will look amazing. Like Sophie, she is always impeccably and appropriately attired. She and Sophie are two of the most delightful members of the RF.
