Looking for a really good foundation

Can anybody please recommend me a really good foundation?

I currently use Estée Lauder double wear which I used to love but I'm finding it's becoming quite cakey on my skin. My skin isn't great but isn't terrible - it's quite blotchy.

I am very pale and find even the palest shades look orange on me.

I'm looking for full coverage.

I tried the one that's always shown on Facebook - can't remember the name - and that was probably the worst foundation I've ever used 🤣☹️

Any help would be massively appreciated!

Thank you 😊

Nars

ModerationInEverything · 22/05/2023 19:58

I tried Mac Studio Fix after seeing it in a bargain deal and I really like it. Good lasting coverage, non cakey. I'll replace it I've I've used it all.

LaDamaDeElche · 22/05/2023 19:59

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk is the best foundation I've ever used, and I've tried most of them.

Biscuitea · 22/05/2023 19:59

Clinique even better skin.

@Moonshine5

Which type of nars? I have the natural radiant one in Mont Blanc but it's so orange on me 😣

@LaDamaDeElche

I'll definitely look for this one, it isn't one I recognise so hopefully it suits me better!

There’s £10 off Mac Studiofix on the Mac website at the moment

ginoclocksomewhere · 22/05/2023 20:00

I know exact what you mean, I had the same issue, but tbh I've found it with most foundations.

The DW light is fairly good, but I really love the NARS radiant tinted moisturiser, it's very light coverage (but my acne is soooo much better I don't feel I need as much coverage anyhow). I just use it with concealer if needed.

alargeoneforme · 22/05/2023 20:00

I'd been struggling and someone recommended this. It's light but buildable to full coverage. Not remotely cakey, great for dry skin. I've never had a foundation this good. Goes on beautifully with a brush. Colours are a bit lighter than they look on the web. Not sold in shops.
Mineral Whip by Synergie Skin. Not cheap though.

Naooomz · 22/05/2023 20:00

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin. Very buildable, lots of shades. I’m very pale and the colour match is perfect.

Cluborange666 · 22/05/2023 20:01

Have you tried the lighter double wear?

msisfine · 22/05/2023 20:01

Lisa Eldridge - colour match was perfect, stays on all day and doesn't clog skin, great coverage. Pricey, but it's lasted me months even with daily wear.

marshmallowmatcha · 22/05/2023 20:02

Have you tried the findation online shade match?

NowZeusHasLainWithLeda · 22/05/2023 20:04

If you want a fuller coverage, but not as full as your DW, then Erborian BB or IT Cosmetics CC are both pretty full coverage (the CC particularly full)

I'm using and liking Estée Lauder Hydra Futurist Rescue at the moment, it's medium coverage with a bit of glow (similar to Clinique Even Better Glow and Number 7 Hydraluminous) it's nowhere near DW coverage but it is buildable. I'm also very pale 1C1 in EL.

TooBusyGazingAtStarss · 22/05/2023 20:06

Sometimes you only need an ok foundation, for me its all about the primer and setting spray.

I use beauty crop avocado primer, so nice, and then beauty crop oui cherie setting spray after each product.

So concealer first then foundation in the gaps, then setting spray and blend. Then bronzer and or blusher (liquid) setting spray, blend.

Then a translucent powder for over the face. I've found this works with whatever make up products ive used without looking cakey.

SpecialBreak · 22/05/2023 20:09

Sculpted by Aimee second skin foundation. I am pale and struggle
with foundation either looking too orange or too pink. This is perfect and sits so well on skin all day (even my combination skin).
you can buy sachets to try the colour before you buy full size

avocadotofu · 22/05/2023 20:09

I second Nars. I have two which I really like.

Baxdream · 22/05/2023 20:18

Armani is lovely! I'd also recommend it cosmetics too

I’d second Lisa Eldridge. The sample cards are a couple of pounds each and each card contains 4 colour samples. I was really impressed and will be buying a bottle when I run out.

hermansherman · 22/05/2023 20:25

So many I haven't heard of! Thank you so much.

I do ideally want as full coverage as possible, I am unfortunately one of those women who doesn't want to see any of my actual skin ☹️

IT cosmetics has really good coverage and is much less drying than DW. I’ve never tried the Armani one though, really interested to know how the coverage compares.

karmakameleon · 23/05/2023 10:11

The Armani one is gorgeous but not full coverage. If you are struggling with colour matching I always recommend dycpher foundations. They are personalised so make up based on photos you send them. You can ask for full coverage etc and you order a sample and if you aren’t happy they keep resending samples until you are.

Rafferty10 · 23/05/2023 10:27

La prairie, costly but use it carefully and it will last 9 months used daily, it is excellent.

There are 2 shades that are lighter than Mont Blanc. Oslo is the lightest shade and has a pink undertone then there's Siberia which has a Yellow undertone.

I'm extremely pale too and Mont Blanc is too dark/orange on me.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 23/05/2023 10:39

Armani luminous silk
