Kate looks beautiful, the dress is just perfect.

I love the brides dress so far, looking forward to seeing it in more detail.

KillingMeDeftly · 01/06/2023 15:28

Kate's hair and makeup look good but the dress is a bit fussy and washes her out. Great earrings though. I like Mary's dress - I think she's worn it before - but the hair bow is ridiculous on a woman of 50.

How come Beatrice and Edo are there too? Maybe Fergie is good friends with Rania and Abdullah and they're representing her - she seems to know everyone!

KillingMeDeftly · 01/06/2023 15:29

Edo wins for the men. Would it have killed Fred to shave??

SenecaFallsRedux · 01/06/2023 15:34

I really don't like Kate's dress at all; it veers a bit toward MOB for me (especially the color), but she looks very well-turned out as always. And I really don't like that hair bow on EBG.

sausage767 · 01/06/2023 15:41

The brides dress is superb.

And Kates hair is very nice, a little more modern wave.

miri1985 · 01/06/2023 15:42

The Brides dress is just stunning, up there with my all time favourite royal dresses

mikado1 · 01/06/2023 16:05

Surprised people like Kate's dress, I wouldn't be a fan at all. I like Beatrice's. Very pretty and very her!

thatone · 01/06/2023 16:07

I really like Kate's dress it seems perfect for the occasion.

IKWYM about Rania being very central in all the wedding events - I did do a double take when I saw she was wearing black.

MotherofPearl · 01/06/2023 16:10

I can see that Kate's dress is well-chosen for the occasion but I'm afraid I detest it. I far prefer Beatrice's.

viewsoftheshard · 01/06/2023 16:11

Everyone is looking very elegant so far (if you ignore the bows!). But given my previous history of hating Kermit green and white shoes, and now wear both, I suspect I’ll be wearing the biggest bow in my hair at some point

ChicoryDip · 01/06/2023 16:14

I don't like that pink blush colour on Kate. It's a similar colour to the dress she wore to Pippa's wedding so maybe it's her default 'fade into the background' colour.

mathanxiety · 01/06/2023 16:33

Beatrice and E look great, and very happy too.

MotherofPearl · 01/06/2023 16:34

It's not the colour of Kate's dress that is at issue for me, but the incredibly fussy style.

justasking111 · 01/06/2023 16:37

When it comes to weddings like this I wonder if the bride and groom see William and Kate, and others of their era and standing as the older generation now. I noticed that when we attended weddings over the years you become the oldies in your early 40's. So whatever you wear really doesn't matter.

gluenotsoup · 01/06/2023 16:54

Beatrice and Mary both look beautiful, but the Fergie bows are unnecessary.
Kate’s hair is stunning. I like the dress colour and detail, but it’s fussy and swamps her.
The brides dress is Elie Saab. I’m sorry to say it, but I’m not keen at all. It’s too business like and hard lines. The other wedding recently was also ES, so on balance I think his designs are just not for me.
Hoping for a bit of bling at the reception !

justasking111 · 01/06/2023 17:03

Max looks a bit more va va voom. It's a fine line covering up modesty wise. Rania looking really funereal is that the look there?

KillingMeDeftly · 01/06/2023 17:19

Rajwa looks stunning and the dress is more figure-hugging than I expected. It does have a hint of Joan Collins in Dynasty though that's not a bad thing in this case! It's more structural and modern than I've seen in Elie Saab before - I usually associate him with more ethereal dresses, like the Luxembourg brides'.

KillingMeDeftly · 01/06/2023 17:21

Royal Fashion Police on Instagram has all the outfits. The Duchess of Brabant looks great in a fuchsia cape but CPV has just dug out one of her old floral maxis from the back of her closet!

Not sure. Hussein and Rajwa are pushing 30 so they're not that much younger than W&K. And W&K are a good decade younger than the likes of Fred and Mary and Haakon and MM. Speaking of H&MM was there no Norwegian representation at the wedding?

DisforDarkChocolate · 01/06/2023 17:26

Beatrice and Max are my favourite looks so far. Not keen on Catherine's, just too fussy and not quite the right colour.

Eaumyword · 01/06/2023 18:04

I like all the looks - striking the balance I guess between stylish and fitting the modesty brief.

Serenster · 01/06/2023 18:38

Haakon was there - sitting next to Fred and Mary.

I liked Kate’s dress very much in terms of colour and style - though I would have lopped off the decoration on the sleeves I think. I see from twitter that Carole, Michael, Pippa and Pippa’s husband James were also at the wedding, though not the actual ceremony, so clearly there are very warm relationships between the Wales’ extended family and the Jordanian royal family (Carole Middleton I am sure is wearing an old Erdem dress of Kate’s).

LadyEloise1 · 01/06/2023 18:44

I didn't like the asymmetrical neckline of the bride's dress.
I don't like the blush/ salmon pink on Kate - she wore similar to Pippa's wedding. I don't think the colour suits her.
Her hair is lovely but she has tons of make up on her.
Beatrice looks fabulous - love her dress.
Max is showing a fair bit of cleavage for a wedding in a predominantly Muslim country.
Is King Abdullah's half sister Haya ( the ex wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is father of Princess Latifa ) at the wedding I wonder ?

maisiedaisy64 · 01/06/2023 18:55

We have tiaras for the reception!

Serenster · 01/06/2023 19:01

Oh, there’s a really sweet photo of 11 year old Amalia trying that tiara on in her Mum’s dressing room - I bet she couldn’t wait to wear it for real!
