I like Kate's casual look. Thank God for sneakers!

After the hours that she's spent this week in heels the pumps must have been a welcome relief.

I am convinced that there is a special foot transplant service for members of the RF to give them special feet with the ability to wear high heels for periods that we couldn't even contemplate!

I'm sure she was the little bridesmaid who covered her ears on the balcony when K&W got married.

I think the 'fed-up-with-the-whole-proceedings' bridesmaid was Grace van Cutsem?

Her facial expressions that day were priceless!

But Camilla's granddaughter, Eliza (aforementioned Coronation guest in blue), was another of K&W's bridesmaids: she was the the tiny one Charles lifted up to see over the balcony.

KillingMeDeftly · 07/05/2023 16:47

@JaneJeffer the queen of Lesotho?

Poor lass should be at home having her feet rubbed.

Maireas · 07/05/2023 16:51

@KillingMeDeftly which is always frustrating when you've got about 10 weeks to go.

Also, @ChicoryDip , they walk on cobbles and marble surfaces. It does worry me! We still have cobbles where I live (oop North) and I once saw a woman in high heels trip and fall very badly, poor woman screaming in agony. She was obviously badly injured. They obviously have Special Feet.

Not her either. Maybe she was a ghostly apparition like the grim reaper Grin

That's not her @Chewbecca, it was a black woman. Still can't find her! She looks good though as does her husband. I wonder what it says on the bag.

Marie-Chantal's bag is one of those made to look like a book cover, or possibly from a book cover. It says "In Search of Lost Time" - wonder what Proust would have made of his tome being used like that!

KillingMeDeftly · 07/05/2023 17:17

Her daughter designs for that bag brand.

Gothambutnotahamster · 07/05/2023 17:18

@KillingMeDeftly The Queen of Lesotho looks phenomenal!

Agreed, my favourite look of the day.

MusicstillonMTV · 07/05/2023 18:23

I really liked Rose Hanbury's outfit - very striking!

Have you got a link? Her son was one of the King's pages.

Not a fan of Marie-Chantal, but I adore her bag!
I have loads of a more cost effective version of that from Yoshi of Litchfield. Mine are cross body bags.
She looks amazingly well put together.
Queen of Lesotho looks really elegant too.

Wonderful @Myaiminlife you must be so proud.

Can you ask him from me how they manage to last so long without toilet breaks? They must have all been getting into their kit hours ago! I can never see such massed ranks without worrying about their bladders!

Right he say the longest spell they had without being able to go was three hours but most them went the 7 or so hours from forming up to being finished without paying a visit.

This pale blue dresser is Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece. Not a pleated hat though? She looks fab anyway, love the belt and bag.

Very elegant but giving me Fleur Delácoeur vibes

Eaumyword · 07/05/2023 18:47

@Myaiminlife love your updates about your DH.

Maireas · 07/05/2023 18:51

What the heck - 7 hours? Bladders taking up 2/3 of the abdominal cavity, or some dangerous dehydration going on there.

What’s the next thread title going to be?

(I have too many thoughts but they’re a bit snarky for the lovely weekend so I’ll keep schtum)

@Myaiminlife love your updates about your DH.

He's having a moment of minor celebrity - I'm just back from a village coronation event and everyone I bumped into said we spotted him on the telly. Being 6'4" has it's advantages when you are in a crowd!
I will slip back to my usual user name and go back to mostly lurking once this thread is over as I have well and truly outted myself.

Maireas · 07/05/2023 18:57

Don't worry, @Myaiminlife - no way you've outed yourself. I'm sure none of us recognise him. How lovely to enjoy some celebrity from it! Clare Balding said that some of the troops had been up since 3am. I hope his start wasn't that early!

There were a number of fainters while they were formed up and standing about for the duration of the service so I guess there was a dehydration issue but they were exactly able to grab a latte either!

It's more a case of if anyone I know in real life comes across this thread - they would recognise him.

I think they were up at 3.30am for breakfast, checking guns out of the armoury, buses to the station, trains to London etc. Etc
