Are chunky sandals still in?

I like both of the attached, but can anyone recommend any in case I prefer them, please?

I have those. I didn’t realise how wide they would come up (I should have got narrow) so to keep them on, I need to keep the buckles tight, which rips my feet up. A pity, because, apart from that, I like them.

Since seeing others doing it abroad I’ve even been wearing them with socks - if someone had told me I’d end up doing that I’d have thought they were mad (seems very geography teacher circa 1976) ! But totally works, so comfortable

Yep, that might be the solution. A bit bold but.

You don’t have to go out with them on. Just wear them round the house until they’re broken in.

You can wear them out with socks, I do!

They think I’m a bit mad round our way as it is, I’m not going to give them any more ammunition. It’s all a bit gilet and pearl studs where I live.

I have these sandals from Dune. I also have them in black and brown. They are so comfortable. They look good on anyone. I am in my fifties but my teenager DD loves them as well.

People with the Blairs or M&S sandals, I run and have recurring but manageable plantar fascitis so can't wear totally flat. Can anyone confirm whether these would be suitable? I love them both but don't want to suffer the disappointment of them hurting my feet and having to sell them on.

Ooh I love a chunky sandal! I bought these ones at John Lewis last year. Very light and comfortable. Just right for a (nearly) 53yo 😉

I'm 58 and not fat and I really like them. I love chunky sandals and also don't give a stuff what others think is suitable for me.

@Anyonefordessert do those animal print sandals come up big or small would you say? I'm a 5.5, should i go 5 or 6 in these?

I love this style, but looking for a pair with less height as I'm already tall and don't want to add too much, any ideas?

Just to add another one to the mix, I've got these and they are the comfiest sandals I've ever owned. Had them about 4 years now and still going strong

I love my Dr Marten ones. Comfy AF once worn in- which took about a week of wearing them around the house first.

I would go with a size 6. They come up a tiny bit small.
