Wedding guest dress - is this too informal?

I’m guessing a few of these will be coming up over the next few weeks!

I’m going to a cousin’s wedding at a country hotel this summer. There’s no dress code, but I don’t want to look too casual. I really like this dress - and while I’d typically go for more reddish/purple colours, I actually really like the green. I feel I could wear it again too.

I’m 5ft 11, big 12 to small 14 with dark colour hair and green eyes. I think the colours and pattern would suit me, but it’s a bit floatier than I’d usually choose, so I was wondering if something more “structured” might be better (more formal looking)? Views welcome:

That’s beautiful and sounds perfect for your colouring. I think structured dresses for weddings aren’t really the fashion at the moment, so don’t worry about it seeming informal. It’s perfect!

Even more expensive dresses are often made of polyester these days. It's madness. I've noticed this because I live in a hot climate and polyester doesn't breath, so I always check to see the material something is made of. You are in the U.K. so polyester should be okay, imo. I think the dress looks perfect for a wedding.

I bought that dress for a wedding and it was GORGEOUS on! The weather was just a bit too cool for me to wear it and be comfortable and so I returned it. Had it been warmer, I would have happily worn it - very flattering.

I wouldn't have minded it at my wedding... but if anything it would have been a bit too dressy.

It’s lovely but very low cut. I’d need tape and a safety pin or button sewed in to not feel self conscious.

I have no boobs, so I reckon I will need a modesty vest, or a pair of joke shop fakes 😅
