Wedding guest dress - is this too informal?

I’m guessing a few of these will be coming up over the next few weeks!

I’m going to a cousin’s wedding at a country hotel this summer. There’s no dress code, but I don’t want to look too casual. I really like this dress - and while I’d typically go for more reddish/purple colours, I actually really like the green. I feel I could wear it again too.

I’m 5ft 11, big 12 to small 14 with dark colour hair and green eyes. I think the colours and pattern would suit me, but it’s a bit floatier than I’d usually choose, so I was wondering if something more “structured” might be better (more formal looking)? Views welcome:

It's a lovely dress and seems perfectly suited the occasion you describe. And from your description of yourself I bet you're going look stunning in it.

I hope I don't know you because I want to buy that dress myself and would be embarrassed if we both turned up at an event wearing the same dress.

Oh don’t wear a modesty vest OP! They are so frumpy. Just get some tape to hold it in place and have the girls on show.

It’s perfect for a wedding, especially as you’re tall. It would not be good on a shorty.

I couldn’t wear polyester as it makes me sweat, but that might just be me.

I am literally considering that dress but in blue for a wedding in September.

(I love the green, but I know the bridesmaids are wearing green so I’m
staying away from that)

That's a gorgeous dress and your height and colouring would really set it off

Rather than a vest, sewing one press stud in at the cross over can help.
