Black Tie work event - help with my look

I'm possibly going to a black tie event for work in October in a hotel in London. Need a stupidly amazing dress and I want to feel on top of the world.

The dress needs to be:

1 - understated sexy but no legs on show or cleavage - I like showing shoulders, back, and calves

2 - no patterns or prints - solid colour

3- comfortable enough for me to sit down, walk, dance etc

4 - suitable for kitten pointed toes heels

5- not glittery, shiny, all gold or all silver etc

I will also need to buy a suitable bag and suitable shoes, preferably a style that I can use over and over again

I'm keen on creating a modern / youth / unassuming look yet chic and tasteful.

Please help with links, photos, tips and etc - i missed the opportunity to go last year so this year I want to enjoy to the maxxxxxxx.

I meant - I don’t like those dresses with a gap of fabric at one side, exposing one leg. Loathe it.
Also I don’t like anything asymetric at the hem but I like asymetry on the torso.

So ideally a mid dress down the knees - not much longer thang thag, definitely not down my feet.

Budget - up to 300 but looking for a good bargain as I will also need shoes and bag. I have a pair of heels I like but they are too high for me.

I only buy casual clothes, mainly uniqlo etc

How comfortable for dancing / walking will this be?

The ones you tagged are beautiful, love the colours and fabric and they have the modern look that I want to go for. But I’m not keen on the huge sleeves for this particular event. I would need artsy / collrful bag and shoes for the black one which is doable with the right pieces!

At the end of the day it is still a work / business event so I don’t want to be over the top

Following because I really struggle with black tie. I think Ralph Lauren polo (in John Lewis) has some nice dresses at the moment
