As some of us really enjoyed talking about Chanel on my white bag thread I thought I'd start a Chanel chat thread here 🙂

I'm a lover of all things Chanel - the history of the brand, the life of Gabrielle Chanel herself, & of course the products. It would be great to have like minded others to share our knowledge & wares with 🙂

Sadly I had to sell most of my collection a few years ago.
One day I’ll earn enough to venture back in!

Congrats on the new mini, i love mine and find them so much more useable than my 2.55’s tbh. Very brave of you going for white though!

@WowIlikereallyhateyou I know, buying a white Chanel is one of those moments where insanity prevailed 😀 Though I won't use it all the time & will look after it. I bought a white blazer this morning (£19.99 in New Look, so a bit more down to earth!) so at least I know it'll be white on white for a while!

I had a small pochette Cambon bag - I sold it as it was just too small. I wish I had bought a flap bag back them instead, the 2.55 was £840. 😣

Hello! I bought my first Chanel bag in 2009 for £1400 tax free at Heathrow. I wish I had bought more then!! It’s a single jumbo flap in black caviar with silver hardware.

I also got a lambskin wallet back when they had the Chanel outlet in NY for $300 when the dollar was $2.02 to the £1 so a fantastic deal. It’s from the Paris New York collection.

I also have a black WOC with gold hardware and a few little bits - sunglasses, ear cuff, anklet.

The prices now are crazy and I don’t think I can justify anymore sadly.

I know, when heathrow used to sell the classics tax free. I had the opportunity to buy a few grea5 bags. Bought a couple,but should have bought more, never mind!

Well, I’m a proper Chanel fan/nerd! I’ve been collecting since 2006. My favourite line in a movie is in The Devil Wears Prada when Nigel says to Andrea that she is in desperate need of Chanel! 😆 Darling, aren’t we all?!

Sorry to hear that you had to part with most of your collection @PlatinumBrunette but here’s to you earning lots soon and you enjoying buying again.

I did a pilgrimage to Rue Cambon and had the best experience. I went to 31, and had to queue to get in! (Not as glam as I had imagined!) But it had to be done. They actually don’t carry a lot of stock as it’s more of a filming location/tourist destination now. The flagship store is actually at number 19 Rue Cambon on the corner and it’s huge!! The staff are lovely (although my favourite SAs are still in Manchester!) the best thing about purchasing from Rue Cambon is that you get a special white Rue Cambon bag to take your new gorgeous thing home in! (But also the macarons, champagne and changing room). I’ll try and upload photos. It’s not letting me for some reason….

In Selfridges yesterday they told me they are seeing people coming in to buy their young daughters a bag now as they fear they won't be able to afford it by the time their child turns 18 😮

I think I'll be priced out of Chanel in the next couple of years. Hence buying now that's my excuse anyway 😀

I have to have a Rue Cambon bag! I didn't know that 31 is largely for tourism now, interesting. She started at 21 I think? So I assume 19 is still part of that original location? It's a pilgrimage I must make at some stage in life 🙂

I messaged a friend who lives in Paris earlier & asked her if she had a spare room for visitors & if she is near Rue Cambon. She replied: "I'm about 45 mins away on the number 73 bus" 😆
