Well, we're in the run up to C day, now. Thanks to @chesterelly for the thread title suggestion 😊

Lovely picture, @gingercat02 . I often look back on old family pictures, with people long gone, and they're so special, they conjure such lovely memories.

@gingercat02 They're only little still. Maybe it was more of a "let's surround Granny for a lovely photo" moment while the older ones were there. Mini-Mike photobombed it with his bag of wotsits sliced apple

Anyway, I've purchased a new high spec telly box for the drawing room at Maireas Manor. I'll be able to watch the Coronation in hyper pixilated glory!

When I stop doing what I’m doing (you know what) and can finally have my own abode, I shall aspire. I’ve always wanted a posh front room.

There is nowt like that here! The dog has the settee…. (The dog is comfy there and has wonky bones. It is right that the comfy spot belongs to them!).

Alas, Maireas Manor is a very average abode, although somewhat brightly decorated as you may imagine. As my neighbour commented: "You are so brave with colour, Maireas!" 🤭

Im not at all brave with colour. Although I do fancy a muriel of sorts with hand painted trees or a seascape. I’d have a nod to the ducks too 🙂

Ooo "ello...bit of chest hair

I'm borrowing a house by a river from the richest person I know for the Coronation (he'll be at one of his other houses...) and several of us are having a sleepover. The more prosaic reason is that it has a HUUUUUUGE telly, although it requires a degree in electronics engineering to operate it. Still, I managed it for Prince Philip's funeral, so there must be a way.

I introduced a couple of them to the idea of bagging tiaras and initially they rolled their eyes... until I showed them mine (Russian Nuptial and Boucheron Wave, fact fans). I wouldn't be surprised if some of them lay claim to a few on the day....

Ok, @SqueakyDinosaur - this rich friend of yours with all the houses - could he provide one for the rest of us for the day?.

We'll be wearing home crafted crowns chez Siri Shack.
Though we live in the heart of a BIG public event, so planning to go along with a basket of goodies and watch on the giant screens with the crowd. I'm sure it will be fun.

Do you think we need to do a bit of colouring in as well as sticking on the jewels? Maybe I need to add some felt tips to the basket. 🤔

I can't blag a mansion, but cleaned out the cupboard under the stairs where the booze lands up because it's dark and cool

I found two bottles of prosecco a bottle of cava and a bottle of veuve cliquot. That's the bubbly sorted 😁

I have taken a photo of it perched on a silken pillow in case I hit the ground running that day and am unable to get a photo of it perched on my heid.

White gown is no good, I'll be a mess before the service starts. I have my Strathmore Rose tiara ready to go with my comfy clothes and plenty of fizz.

I wonder if we need a coronation bingo card for the commentary.

Alison Hammond asked Kate today if shes wearing blue to the coronation and she said that theres some blue in what shes wearing, so maybe the dress code is only for invitees and not the royals themselves

A nice use of colour by Sofia, but I’m not sure cashmere quite works as an evening gown, it seems too heavy to me and like it would I be uncomfortable.
