Here we are again, and this time looking forward to the warmer weather , putting away our comfy woolies ( and new season's dresses).

Everyone welcome ..

Happy Easter to you all - we are demolishing a massive Colomba here

dudsville · 09/04/2023 15:44

@applecatchers36 ,i may have missed it, which jumpsuit did you get, the wrap one?

applecatchers36 · 09/04/2023 15:54

Dudsville it's the utility one in wool, sleeveless can tell will wear a lot as it's a timeless piece that they do so well..was a last sale purchase

Laska2Meryls · 09/04/2023 16:39

Happy Easter, I have been sorting out the strawberry bed...
My friend decided that she didn't want my gabis after all, so I ( possibly madly) decided to take the outer leg seams apart ( as there was quite a bit of seam width ) and resew . They are now much better and I will wear them .. .. Yes, I could have sold them on ebay but I probably wouldn't have got half of what I paid, and then id have ended up buying another pair .. Now they are fine and hat essential half an inch wider around the calf ..

I meant to show you what I did with the "two Toast scarves sofa throw" its not quite finished ( I keep getting waylaid with other projects) and I may put another couple of rows of cross stitch down the full length.... But here it is , so far .. I am really pleased with it..

@Laska2Meryls Oh that is lovely! Wonderful choice of colours and stitch placement 😍

Stoic123 · 09/04/2023 17:14

@Laska2Meryls - love it!

Noeggsontoast · 09/04/2023 17:50

Happy Easter all.

@Laska2Meryls I love what you've done and good work on the trousers too! I'm not that confident in my seeing as yet to make such adjustments. I can make clothes but I wouldn't know where to begin doing what you have done.

@Dee1224 love the twig story!

I really wanted to be gardening this weekend as there's a lot to be tidied but I've had to work the whole of it. Nice and sunny but too cool to work outside just yet which would have made my toil less arduous.

Dee1224 · 09/04/2023 18:01

@Laska2Meryls I love what you have done with the Fairisle scarves. I wanted one of them in the sale but missed out. What you have done with them is even better than the original. I wish I could sew!

MiracleToast · 09/04/2023 20:19

Currently lounging in Toast double cotton nightie and botanical print robe after long day cooking for the family. Amazingly the rain held off until well after we had eaten lunch outside. Phew!

applecatchers36 · 09/04/2023 20:31

Lovely stitch work Laska you are talented to have created that...

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 09/04/2023 21:00

That is a beautiful piece of work @Laska2Meryls , what a brilliant idea. Clever work on the gabis too.

Fantastic scarf @Laska2Meryls !
Love the bright stitching! Well done!
Impressed by your gabi alterations too!🙌👏

Laska2Meryls · 10/04/2023 08:23

Thanks for the lovely compliments .. I am not really a confident needle person, ( have not tried making anything from scratch since being thrown out of needlework classes at school all those years ago) but I am a great Sewing Bee fan ( and especially of Esme Young, who is such an inspiration in so many ways ) and have definitely been inspired by her to try modifying clothes and 'embracing the imperfect' Sashiko stitching... As you know, I like dying things also.

I love how you’ve done the throw @Laska2Meryls . The colours are fantastic.

Laska2Meryls · 10/04/2023 08:48

In fact I think that the way forward in my life ( especially as I finally get my state pension this year) is to 'Be more Esme' ! I had her book for Christmas and was so impressed by her life attitude and determination ..

Noeggsontoast · 10/04/2023 09:00

@Laska2Meryls I am a big fan too and received her book for Xmas as well. I would love to be a bit more Esme - she has great style and a strong sense of self. She is responsible for getting me back into making clothes but I still lack confidence. I haven't made any clothes for a while now. I do tend to float from craft to craft depending on how I'm feeling and how much time I have.

Your throws look great laska! Wish I was as handy as you

I tried on one of my Jan sale purchases the other day, the black linen trousers and there was the plastic security tag left in them which I didn’t notice originally. Toast have given me a 15% discount but I have already bought loads this spring and have already either had stuff altered or am out of the returns period- gah! Wasn’t planning on buying anything else for spring. I asked them to retrospectively apply it but they weren’t too keen on that idea. Bit ungrateful of me I suppose!

Did you get the tag off?

neveradullmoment99 · 10/04/2023 12:23

I really like the dusky pink linen tunic shirt. Anyone have this? Reviews say its got weird arm holes! Any experience of this?

neveradullmoment99 · 10/04/2023 12:24

I'm not really looking to buy right now as I have got loads of stuff. Just thinking in advance. Its such a beautiful colour.

Snowyowl78 · 10/04/2023 12:26

@neveradullmoment99 nah I have to send it back to them for removal. They did say I could take it into any old shop and ask but I felt a bit weird about that! Maybe if I am feeling brave one day.

That is so annoying! Not sure I would be brave going in to any shop to do that either. Its like you have stolen it!

neveradullmoment99 · 10/04/2023 12:40

...not necessarily from their shop obviously. Unless you know someone that works in a shop/supermarket that could do it for you?

Snowyowl78 · 10/04/2023 13:02

@neveradullmoment99 they said I could show the email as proof of purchase but I’m just imagining a really confused and awkward conversation so I think I’d rather just send it back to toast!
