@Alpacasoft I attempted to try that jumpsuit on in the York store last weekend but I literally couldn’t get the top on. I’m 5ft5-ish so not especially tall so I’m not sure what body shape you would need to be. The fabric is really lovely and the bottom half looked pretty good. Oh well, money saved I guess…

I'm really disappointed as I would really like a jumpsuit .
I might have a look at the Seasalt one

Stoic123 · 17/05/2023 22:29

@Alpacasoft - such an enabler! I will try to resist as I have loads of lovely Toast dresses to wear but, inspired by the recent FB page purchases mentioned, I may stalk eBay and Vinted to see if anything is worth a punt.

This Toast chat has led me to planning some Toast for the next few days (thanks @dudsville for reviving thread). I'm going to test a few of your memories here so adding dates to help place.....

Still a bit cool here so...
Tomorrow It's the Embroidered Cotton Kaftan Dress in Slate (2022) that was worn by Jenny Garcia in a Toast Live and was still v expensive in the December sale. I enjoy wearing it and need to bring the CPW down. Toast kaftan jacket in orangey reds on top until the day warms up.

On Friday, I'm going with the Indigo Denim Pinafore Dress (permanent collection version) with a Francis Tee. I'll wear it with a Toast Cotton Twill Workwear Jacket in Cobalt (2019- longer length version of last year's) or a Indigo Hemp Cotton Jacket (2021). The Hemp Jacket was the one that tends to have loose (white) buttons - if anyone remembers that?

Saturday, it's lunch with friends so I'm wheeling out the current Panelled Cotton Linen Dressin in Slate (2023) for it's first outing.I've just realised it's pretty much a plainer version of the embroidered kaftan dress (Oops!). Strings of (fake and freshwater) pearls to go with.

Look forward to more outfit shares from you all.

Sounds lovely @AFingerofFudge enjoy!

Lovely to hear all the toast being worn, @dudsville thanks for resurrecting the thread from the doldrums!
I wasnt wearing toast today but will plan on wearing my blue blazer from a few years back tomorrow. Like a pp I never find the right time to wear it due to temperature but I enjoy it when I do.
@ilovecherries which palm dress is it you have? The one with blue leaves or the one (same shape I think) with browns and burgundy with leopards in the background. I have the latter as an Ebay purchase but haven't worn it yet.
As usual I am yearning for a toast sale. When do we think the next one will be?

It’s the latter, and I love it so much I’m now stalking the blue leaf one but they are very expensive on eBay.

I have that longer length cobalt jacket, bought in the Great JL Sale of 2020 and never worn because of endless lockdowns. It’s now really too big for me and I’ve been wondering if I should let it go with love. I’m terrible for not wanting to part with things ‘just in case’ but I do have a few Toast jackets now.

Stravaig · 17/05/2023 22:50

@Theteapotsbrokenspout Thanks! You're right, it's tricky to be definitive.

MaroonedOnADesertIsland · 17/05/2023 22:52

That is also the jacket I have and planning to wear tomorrow!

Stoic123 · 17/05/2023 22:53

@ilovecherries - it is a gorgeous colour but I struggle to match it to other stuff in my wardrobe because of length and colour combo. The pinafore is one of the few things it goes well with.

Stoic123 · 17/05/2023 22:58

For others wondering

(@ilovecherries & @MaroonedOnADesertIsland -same one?)

Toasties:- Spring frocks and socks?
Stoic123 · 17/05/2023 23:00

There was also a version at some point with slightly different fastening- picture is mine.

Stoic123 · 17/05/2023 23:02

Other one was a knot front I think.

MaroonedOnADesertIsland · 17/05/2023 23:32

Yes that's the one 😊

ilovecherries · 17/05/2023 23:56

Yup, that’s the jacket!

Also, I have these two dresses bought at the same time. I’ve wafted about the garden in them on hot days but feel I never do them justice and have never got them styled properly. Any ideas? I think maybe I’m not cool enough to wear them ironically and just look slightly mad in them. The green one certainly had snigger value for a bunch of teenage girls.

Impressed with your planning ahead @Stoic123 .

To continue the what we are wearing, Lydia dress, pear boat neck T, and Whistles sandals ( which may come off tricky to drive in) Haven’t worn the Lydia in ages and it’s more forgiving of a few pounds than I remember.

MaroonedOnADesertIsland · 18/05/2023 09:21

It's too blooming hot for the jacket now! 😂

@ilovecherries I am surprised (that they would have caused sniggering) - I imagine it is just teenage girls being teenage girls rather than the dresses.

OftenOrange · 18/05/2023 10:39

@ilovecherries Both dresses seem typically lovely unstructured Toast dresses.to me , I’d say they’re perfect for daytime outings with a pair of boots/ Birkenstocks or similar .

Starting to think we overthink . I notice how carefree the younger Toast assistants are about how they sling on Toast without regard to any matching or
such ,.and I usually love the result .
For me matchy matchy was so important as a teenager but now it seems to kill a look .
I bought the trailing Ikat skirt and first wore it a week ago with a ivory easy T and a boxy MHowell jacket , I was interviewing new specs at various opticians and took photos which showed I looked really boring .
I therefore decided I hated the jacket and skirt , and put aside the skirt to sell.
Then I decided to try again for another optician sortie, wore same skirt with a non matchy fenugreek Alpaca jumper and the Patchwork blue jacket , plus bare legs , fenugreek socks and chunky boots and it felt lifted and joyful.

Hello Toasties, has anyone tried this one?

https://www.toa.st/products/garment-dyed-linen-pinafore-jumpsuit-bottle-green

initial reviews are saying it’s snug across the bust and that would be an issue for me

Yes, I tried it in my search for the perfect jumpsuit. To give context I’m dithering between a 10 and a 12 in the wrap jumpsuit (must send one back soon, too much money sitting out!) and I tried the large in that linen one and it was uncomfortably tight across the chest.

They did start singing ‘Scotland the Brave’ as I passed them and mimed using bagpipes. Which on one level I thought was quite clever but it has somewhat disturbed my fondness for the dress!

ilovecherries · 18/05/2023 12:57

Actually that green one has always been let down by that horrid stringy tie. I don’t use the tie but really what it needs is one of the lovely wrap belts toast often do with dresses.

I have the dark green in a large. Its a bit snug on the bust but not ridiculously so. I'm a 14. Tbh, if it wasn't for the bust, I could have sized down. I'm a 34F

Trinitybean · 18/05/2023 15:16

I had the Kayla is it, and the Zola, sold them both and then tried to find again on ebay! Agree about the annoying belt that isn't a belt I didn't use it. Didn't really wear them when I had them but they are both really nice.

I just feel I’m not doing them right somehow. But I must have liked them once. Toast clothes are normally so easy and somehow I feel self conscious in these. Maybe so should let them go, but I hate doing that too!

Trinitybean · 18/05/2023 17:03

That is so funny I was exactly the same but now I miss them.

dudsville · 18/05/2023 17:50

@ilovecherries ,i like both those dresses a lot, but personally i would shorten the sleeves of the green one. I did this with the french blue check dress as the longer volumey sleeves paired with my hair, which is often straight out of the 1810 archives, is just too much. I can't remember your hair but i think it's more modern, so i think you need to leave sniggering youths be, that was a little bullying of them, and enjoy your dresses, or sell them, but only if it's what YOU want! I wore a combo today that i think would have raised eyebrows, but it made me happy - olive check dress with my chalk "have you seen my feet?" DMs.

dudsville · 18/05/2023 18:06

I like your post/approach @OftenOrange. I find when I'm dressing to go out that i need to pretend I'm dressing to stay home as I'm then more likely to put a fun combination together. That's versus when i do overthink and suddenly all the clothes end up on the floor and my confidence wanes.
