Here we are again, and this time looking forward to the warmer weather , putting away our comfy woolies ( and new season's dresses).

Everyone welcome ..

I was on the verge of ordering the check jumpsuit until I read the reviews that it's really short in the body and impossible toget out of.
I ordered the garment dyed linen dress in sapphire , gambled on a small even though toast recommended a medium.
It just says summer hols to me !
Off for a mooch in my local shop
Will report back

Stoic123 · 13/05/2023 14:44

Happy weekend to everyone.

No clothes shopping at the moment (awaiting June sale) but I am wearing Toast today (an ikat chequerboard number from few years back- will add image).

Happy weekend @Stoic123 its beautiful here today. A pottering in the garden without mushroom kind of day. I’ve been wearing a plumo cotton kaftan thing over my bikini and wondering if toast would have some similar linen wafty things come sale time… the Plumo dress is terrible quality and, despite being bought last year in the sale is already gathering holes.

@dudsville that sounds like the perfect Saturday morning. An excellent self care day indeed.

mizu · 13/05/2023 19:40

@Stoic123 I have that dress! Love it. It comes out every year and one of my work colleagues always comments - "mizu is wearing my favourite TOAST dress of hers again".

My eldest DD loves it too and has been known to borrow it!

Stoic123 · 13/05/2023 19:50

@mizu - I've enjoyed wearing it today. A happy dress.

Went to the park this afternoon and the lady sitting on a bench further along was wearing the Crinkled Cotton Drift Check Dress.

I'm learning to spot Toast at a distance.

Alpacasoft · 13/05/2023 20:14

I popped into my local toast.
They had the sapphire dress -glad I ordered a small , it's quite big.
They also had the peachy seaweed dress in a 10 and it's cut very wide.
I'm not a fan, lovely weighty fabric but the colour and style is strange.
Nothing else grabbed me.
They no longer seem to stock nightwear which is annoying

Alpacasoft · 13/05/2023 20:14

Ps it was so cold I didn't try anything on!

Saurus72 · 13/05/2023 20:36

@Alpacasoft I attempted to try that jumpsuit on in the York store last weekend but I literally couldn’t get the top on. I’m 5ft5-ish so not especially tall so I’m not sure what body shape you would need to be. The fabric is really lovely and the bottom half looked pretty good. Oh well, money saved I guess…

Stoic123 · 13/05/2023 21:21

@Alpacasoft - I have the liquorice version of that dress and like it very much. Really like the blue version but have learnt not to buy two of the same item (unless a real staple) as my second favourite will just get relegated to the back of the cupboard.

oddandelsewhere · 14/05/2023 07:49

Can I join in please? I'm a long time Toast buyer and hanger on around here. I love to hear about other people's clothes successes! I wonder if anyone has the boat neck garment dyed linen dress ( the tangerine one) which looks as though it's the same style as last year's landscape check one. If so, what does it measure across the waist seam? I have the landscape in a small, and want to buy the new one but with the new sizes I don't know which size to buy. The check one in a small is still roomy on me. I am hesitating about going to a shop because we have a new puppy!

dudsville · 14/05/2023 08:02

That's a really nice dress @Stoic123 and @mizu ! Looks very wearable.

I spent the rest of yesterday on a bench in the garden in a striped emma tee and pair of toast culottes. These are really wonderful fabric but a mistake of a purchase as they're just too big so i don't wear them out ( and i got them in both colours 🤦‍♀️). If i ever lose this last stone I'll sew the pleats down, but I've already dyed one pair and taken some of the fabric out of the legs of both, and i know when I tweak something multiple times it tends to end up a lost cause. I think they would look good under long wafty toasty tops, maybe i should look out for one.

Hi @oddandelsewhere , I don't have it but someone on here must. A new puppy 🥰🥰🥰!!!

Snowyowl78 · 14/05/2023 13:14

I got the white linen tee from Vinted, and I can confirm it is very see through! I think someone mentioned this upthread. No matter as I bought it to wear under things, but if I’d have bought it as a normal tee shirt I’d be a bit put out!

I had it. Way too see through.
I just could not make it work. Everything i put under it showed through.
It was a beautiful white though. Good for under things. They should say its sheer though.

faustina · 14/05/2023 20:07

Be very careful when you wash it too - it shrinks a lot!

Saurus72 · 14/05/2023 20:58

Yes it does shrink! I bought one for 70% off from JL a few years ago. It felt amazing, such a good fit, the perfect t-shirt for wearing to bed but it shrank irredeemably after the first wash. I was devastated!

dudsville · 14/05/2023 21:23

Is this a toast white linen tee? Just wondering if I need to note to avoid it???

Snowyowl78 · 15/05/2023 09:21

@Saurus72 @faustina yes! I have the other colours and have shrank them so I’m hand washing only now

@dudsville its the boy linen tee, from last year I think, not around anymore. I love them though they are my favourite T-shirts

dudsville · 15/05/2023 16:47

Thanks@Snowyowl78

dudsville · 17/05/2023 11:42

A quiet time on the thread! Today I'm wearing the cotton linen pleat front skirt in cinnamon with an off white cotton gathered three quarters sleeve with grey arizonas. Not very inspired, quite a safe pairing, but I did the french tuck and that got me thinking, am I getting tired of the oversized look? I've been thinking about my oversized dresses lately and contemplating putting in the little ties they they put on a few dresses, like the gathered garment dyed linen dress. It would be easy enough to try it on a cotton dress, but the one that's part viscose I'm not so sure about, that feels like a more vulnerable fabric.

Anyone else in a nice toasty outfit today?

Noeggsontoast · 17/05/2023 12:03

I'm wearing an olive utility jumpsuit with orange striped Emma tee under, toast jeans belt dupe from M and S and Birkenstocks. @dudsville your outfit sounds lovely and floaty. It's a bit grey here with the threat of rain so no skirts or dresses for me today.

Viscose is such a delicate fabric and can pull/snag quite easily. Though Toast viscose is much heavier than most. Has a good weight to it.

dudsville · 17/05/2023 12:25

That sounds really cute @Noeggsontoast and the orange stripe top is a good combatant for the grey skies!

I'm not so familiar with visoce but I can see what you mean. I do love tweaking things but I shall leave that one alone!

ilovecherries · 17/05/2023 12:51

I’m wearing the palm print dress that I most successfully bought on the FB buy and sell group. It’s not really warm enough for it but it’s lovely and was desperate to wear it. In a concession to the cold I’m wearing it with trainers and a red cardi.

Stoic123 · 17/05/2023 13:12

I am indeed in Toast.

I'm wearing the Grid Check Crinkled Cotton Dress from last year with a cheerful berry coloured cashmere cardi.

Noeggsontoast · 17/05/2023 13:13

@ilovecherries oh I'm envious, I missed out on that dress! Enjoy - it's gorgeous.

Gonegrey31 · 17/05/2023 13:35

I'm wearing the navy collared short sleeve jumper from last autumn, with dark denim jeans (White Company). And I'm so cold I'm going to have to change into something warmer! But I love this sweater, bought in the sale on a whim and it is one of my favourite ever purchases.
