Maybe they just had a blip

dudsville · 24/04/2023 17:54

Argh, did i miss an accidental sale? Did anyone get anything?

Snowyowl78 · 24/04/2023 18:48

@dudsville it was odd, I got an email from Uniform Research saying they had 15% off all their spring summer collection, which includes a load (but not all) of Toast stuff, and for about 5 mins everything was 15% off and then it disappeared! Weird because everything else on their site is now 15% off.

OftenOrange · 24/04/2023 19:46

A little present to myself for pending hours battling French red tape and getting nowhere grrrr.
I love the Lina sandals and had resisted because I have some Fracaps and thought they may be a similar look . The old ones are still on the Fracap site,I got them as a Toast sale bargain.
Comfort is 100% ❤️

Thanks for the update@Snowyowl78 , I can bear missing out on a 15% discount! I haven't seen those drawcord denim trousers and am interested!

@OftenOrange what a nice way to celebrate a dreary task!

I just spent ages looking over that website that had the accidental toast discount and had to remind myself that i do not need anymore bostons or arizonas or boots...

faustina · 24/04/2023 20:22

@Snowyowl78 I think those might be men's

neveradullmoment99 · 24/04/2023 20:52

Snowyowl78 · 24/04/2023 18:52

There is a new dress on the Uniform Research website.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/04/2023 20:54

Those trousers are new. I don't think they are mens as all the other Toast clothes are womens.

faustina · 24/04/2023 21:12

There was a pair very like those trousers at Cos a few months ago - it sold out in days (I was after them!)

They're very nice !

Snowyowl78 · 24/04/2023 21:59

I can’t work out if they’re men’s or women’s!

neveradullmoment99 · 24/04/2023 23:39

Well all the other clothes on there are womens?

FiddleFigs · 25/04/2023 09:28

Those trousers look like the denim version of the panelled linen trousers, which are women's. They are nice, but seem really too pricey for a pair of drawstring trousers.

faustina · 25/04/2023 20:03

Can I have some advice about trousers? I have a gap in my wardrobe for something dark and lightweight and am looking at either the panelled garment dyed in black coffee or the blue balloon linen trousers - if you have either could you please tell me if : they're reasonably thick linen, and if you can roll them up so they stay rolled up (I am short) - also sizing - because there seem to be a lot of reviews saying the new sizing isn't very different from the old sizing. I had a lovely slate pair which were perfect except way too big, so I Ebayed them and I don't have anything in a similar shade - thank you!

Firesideknitting · 25/04/2023 23:39

My toast bedding arrived yesterday, it’s wonderfully soft and I hope will be comfortable for years to come …

Countmeout · 26/04/2023 07:56

I have the fungereek balloon trousers @faustina . I would say the sizing is not that different. I bought the xxs. I am no way xxs but the length seemed to start off ok. I figured also linen would stretch and I think they have. The waist started off very neat on me, not uncomfortably so but I am bigger although the same height as you. I think you might find the same as we found with the indigo Alix initially maybe seeming okay but then feeling too big. I haven’t tried to roll them yet but will experiment later. I thought the linen didn’t feel as nice as the blouse they show them with.

Countmeout · 26/04/2023 07:56

Sorry just occurred to me obviously the navy linen might be different.

faustina · 26/04/2023 07:59

Thank you @Countmeout - that is very helpful! I'm trying to avoid getting into another long order/return/reorder circle of doom. how long are they on you? Do they look at all cropped when not rolled?

Countmeout · 26/04/2023 09:33

Well just experimented. If I really pull them up they’re at my ankle bone but slip down in wear. Turning up one fold is probably ideal not sure if they could be ironed into position. For me they’re going to be a wear around the house, drift down for breakfast holiday trouser, pop out for milk. Couldn’t envisage myself going out in them for a prolonged period. I am not an oversized person at heart and I think they’re at the edge of my oversized comfort zone. And I think they’ll be too big on you.
No experience of the other ones. Maybe someone more reassuring will come along.

faustina · 26/04/2023 12:46

Thank you @Countmeout - so kind of you to do that! So if they're too big for you and you're bigger than me, the new sizing is a load of bollocks basically? What a shame. I really miss my slate linen pair now the weather's just a touch warmer!

faustina · 26/04/2023 12:51

I remember ages ago I tried on some garment dyed linen pull on trousers in XS from Toast (viaJL) in the sale and they were extremely flimsy linen (like only good for a beach holiday) and also massively big. the slate pair I had were better quality fabric but they were just too big. I'm wondering if the panelled linen pair will just be like the JL ones

JustforToast · 26/04/2023 19:44

Snowyowl78 · 24/04/2023 18:58

So pleased this jumpsuit is back in stock. I’ve ordered one. I’ve never had a successful jumpsuit experience but have high hopes!

OftenOrange · 26/04/2023 20:09

@JustforToast @Snowyowl78
Thank you Snowy Owl, I’ve also ordered it .
I have quite few jumpsuits already , love the format and decided this was one for the collection !

@Firesideknitting I used the sales bedding for the first time( last night ecru with red stripe) , it looks lovely on the bed , I hope it won’t be too creased after a wash .
Have hitherto been to White Company for bed linen; I’d say theirs is much finer and softer but the cat soon gets his claws in there and I don’t think he’ll manage that with the Toast .
Yes, I really like it and can see a rabbit hole opening here.

Oops
The seed shell earrings, the gingham dress, the panelled linen dress in slate and the seamless wool cashmere jumper in pebble.
Bit of a splurge !
Will report back

My order arrived today and keeping everything.
I have to say the size recommendations were spot on.
I'm a RL 12.
Earrings -lovely, will buy more if she makes more studs in the future ( can't wear drop earrings or hoops)
Gingham dress size,12 neat fitting at the bust and neckline with a full skirt.
Almost thought about sizing down but the neckline is ruched and not really adjustable even though they say it is, it isn't at the front neck .
I'm slim around my neck and shoulders and it's a snug fit, ok but snug.It might bother some if they have a bit more weight in that area mine is lower down
A really lovely dress.
As is the panelled linen dress.Gorgeous heavy linen and a perfect fit.
It's very long which I like but it's lower calf on me and I'm tall.
The seamless wool/ cashmere jumper is lovely but it's more a browny grey -keeping as I like the colour.
Would love this in a true pale grey or blue.

The mug 😝
Have given it to DH for camping.
It's also got a horrible open lip.
I don't know how anyone can even contemplate drinking out of it!
All in all very pleased with my order though.
