@MiracleToast - my oil burner has been fine but I don't use it very often so it's not been really tested.

I'm wearing Toast for a relaxed weekend- flat fronted denim trousers and the charcoal loopback top.

I bought the Easy Tee (in Coal) and Space Check Shorts (to wear together). I like them both but am going to mull over a bit/try on a few times before I make a final decision to keep. Fingers have been burnt.

Saurus72 · 22/04/2023 17:37

I bought a lovely linen dress from Muji of all places today. Fabric seems to be good quality, dress also has pockets! It’s similar to Toast oversizing - I hope I’ve made the right decision with the medium. I could have bought the small however I plan to wear it with the sleeves rolled up with a thin tan belt to give me some shape and when I tried belting the small in the shop the pockets stuck out a bit. V reasonable pricing too. https://www.muji.eu/uk/product/linen-long-sleeve-dress-17444

I kept the medium in the fenugreek, I decided the waist was slightly more comfortable and they hung better on me. So the small will be winging their way back to Toast once the post office is open (rural area, no PO on Saturdays and a bit hit and miss in the week).

I was thinking about adding the Mauna Kea socks to my next order so glad to hear they are fabulous Smile .

neveradullmoment99 · 22/04/2023 17:50

Ive got a pair of khaki dr martens oxfords and they look fab together!

MiracleToast · 22/04/2023 18:34

@Stoic123 and @dudsville really disappointing as love it. Will probably send an email as that’s twice—I was so precious with it as well.

Snowyowl78 · 22/04/2023 19:43

@Stoic123 i have both of those! I bought the space check shorts late in the summer after refusing to buy them due to price and buying 2 pairs from elsewhere. The I finally bought them and realised that was what I should have bought in the first place. So comfortable. They are massive though, I have the small, which is silly.

OftenOrange · 22/04/2023 20:07

@Saurus72 Muji is great for linen , glad you found a nice dress.
It washes brilliantly too, I’ve a white baggy top which is every bit as nice as Toast and cost about a quarter the amount.
I tried on the wide linen culottes with a pretty cotton short sleeved top , the top will look good tucked into the Toast balloon trousers I think.
However Muji doesn’t do colour like Toast …..
@Stoic123 I was also dithering on keeping Space check , but balloon trousers , because of the fact I only like theme with black or white . I’ve kept them because I think they look so nice on.
I spend Summer in a hot place so now I’m thinking the shorts may be really useful too .

Stoic123 · 22/04/2023 20:26

@Snowyowl78 - think might have been resized this year. I'm deciding between the medium and large in the shorts (both fit but slightly different look). Last summer I bought the Small Space Check trousers and a Small is generous on me (I'm a size 14).

@OftenOrange - the material is lovely.

OftenOrange · 22/04/2023 20:30

I bought a duvet cover and pillowcases in the sale, it’s the ecru cotton with a red stripe.
I’ve been using White company and old French linen stuff in pure white for years , so no issues with combining there.
Those who have similar sets from Toast , what sort of bottom sheet do you use with it ?
I’m in two minds about keeping it because of the matchy thing !

OftenOrange · 22/04/2023 20:36

@Stoic123 Yes the space check material is what I can only describe as ‘superior’ !
I wear shorts for hiking mostly , I’m thinking the set you mentioned would be really good ,however my very thin legs look awful in some shorts, it’s a combination of length and width than can make or break the look.
I love my Cos elastic waist numbers from 2 years back,no longer available. But I feel like a grackle using them for hiding as they’re white.

mizu · 22/04/2023 20:59

@OftenOrange I have the red / pink stripe duvet cover and love it. I often use my striped fitted sheet which is the slate stripe with it. I quite like!

MiracleToast · 22/04/2023 23:06

@OftenOrange i also have the red stripe and pair with the pink ticking stripe. Love!

faustina · 23/04/2023 05:24

@OftenOrange - I like to mix the red stripe with the pink ticking - it's also nice with white linen and cotton too. At the moment I have the pink ticking bolster, the red stripe pillowcases, a white cotton fitted sheet, the pink ticking flat sheet and a white Irish linen duvet cover

OftenOrange · 23/04/2023 10:15

@MiracleToast @faustina Many thanks for the pairings on the bed linen, I shall need to get onto the Toast bedroom look now I’ve dipped a toe.

TempleofZoom · 23/04/2023 11:11

I have just spent some birthday money and vouchers.
On their way
The Sally Lacock

TempleofZoom · 23/04/2023 11:14

Oops
The seed shell earrings, the gingham dress, the panelled linen dress in slate and the seamless wool cashmere jumper in pebble.
Bit of a splurge !
Will report back

dudsville · 23/04/2023 11:17

How exciting, and happy birthday @TempleofZoom !!!!

Thanks @dudsville
Birthday was a while back but I have been happily pondering choices 😊

Stoic123 · 23/04/2023 12:05

@TempleofZoom - belated Happy Birthday!

I have the panelled linen dress and really like it. Material is great. Very plain but comes alive with a scarf, jacket or necklace (so do play around if you like the cut but not wowed immediately).

Thank you!
Yes I have the sleeveless linen dress from last year and it's basic but beautifully cut so fingers crossed.

faustina · 24/04/2023 13:59

@Snowyowl78 - that's so strange! The first time I clocked on your link, everything was discounted, but the second time it was just a few things from last season - everything else full price!

Snowyowl78 · 24/04/2023 14:02

@faustina thats odd, same for me now!

Snowyowl78 · 24/04/2023 14:07

@faustina the Sideline stuff is still discounted, but the Toast discounts have disappeared! Maybe Toast told them off!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 24/04/2023 14:14

And the panelled dress in dhal is loads more expensive than Toast (£295).
