They’re not correct though. Like I said previously I’m obese and my eating is the least disordered and ‘healthy’ it’s ever been. I’m hurtling towards 50 and my BP has always been spot on, as has my cholesterol and my heart and I’ve never been anywhere near diabetic, though I do also have PCOS which often comes with insulin resistance! And I know of many, many other people who are in the same situation. Conversely my very slim, active mum got high blood pressure at 45.
The size of someone else’s body has fuck all to do with anyone else. And if you’re one of those who spouts the ‘think of the NHS’ mantra, then if you don’t tell anyone else doing anything potentially risky - playing sport, drinking on a night out, driving etc etc that they’re potentially costing the NHS money in injuries etc, you’re not actually concerned for the NHS.
And you really can’t tell a person’s health just by looking at them. Health is holistic, not just about physical stuff I’ll likely never be ‘healthy’ again because of my conditions (that started when I was thin just in case you try and blame my weight). I literally cannot exercise. Does that make me less worthy of my place in this world?! By some people’s reckoning it does. 🙄
