M&S knickers reviews

What is going on? Looking for some new knickers and finding that many reviews are posted by male wearers?

I've seen this as well. It's not really a new thing in the sense I've seen it a couple of years ago. It's a bit weird but each to their own 🤣. I don't wear them anymore though because they're crappy made imo

PotKettel · 13/03/2023 13:25

Well I guess that tells you the women’s lingerie market is probably shopping elsewhere. I haven’t heard anything good about M&S knickers in a long time.

savvy7 · 13/03/2023 13:28

Any suggestions for where I should be shopping? Looking for quality and nice materials

LawksaMercyMissus · 13/03/2023 13:42

Sainsbury's knickers are way better quality than M and S these days

BumblebeeWest · 13/03/2023 13:44

I opened this thread expecting something slightly different, haha.

M&S used to do the comfiest bamboo fibre mid-rise shorts style knickers, no tight elastic, just comfortable and stretchy. I had a drawer full of them, but which over the years they have, as even good pants inevitably do, gradually deteriorated. I’m down to my last ten pairs and have no idea where to get a suitable replacement - my recent trips to big M&Ss have ended in disappointment and their website doesn’t seem to have anything like the old bamboo shorts. Any recommendations for that sort of thing would be gratefully received!

But yeah I also think blokes reviewing knickers is a bit weird, they can’t be comfortable in them, they’re designed for completely different anatomy. So you have to wonder what the attraction is, and then of course you end up realising it’s their fetish, and I was under the impression that if you have a fetish you’re not supposed to just go around making strangers participate in it. Not nice at all.

cocksstrideintheevening · 13/03/2023 13:48

It's fucking weird. M and s have shrunk all the gussets anyway so I go to Sainsbury’s now which are surprisingly good.

9Feb · 13/03/2023 13:50

There have been MN conversations about this in the past.

You know the gusset, the double thickness section in the middle? Some M&S pants have this sewn down only at one end so that men can tuck their manly bits inside it. Or so I read. Certainly some of my M&S pants are constructed like that.

I thought the reviews by men had eventually been removed by M&S, but I must be wrong. Could you link to some current ones?

9Feb · 13/03/2023 13:51

Another vote for Sainsbury’s pants here.

Stressybetty · 13/03/2023 13:53

Again Sainsbury's are great. Last ones I got from M&S I threw away, the gusset was very narrow and pretty useless. Waste of money

How gross!

Bought these in white pretty much as they came available and so glad to get these! Love the detailing of the embroidery and the bows and the satin is just really nice too! M&S have done it again! As a male wearer, I got these in size 12, and they fit me OK - certainly couldn't go down normal size 10.

M&S approve/moderate reviews so they are happy for loads of reviews of women’s underwear by men to be on their site, which is a weird brand choice.

MandyMotherOfBrian · 13/03/2023 14:06

Pervs gonna perv, I guess.

over50andfab · 13/03/2023 14:09

Some men wear women's pants just as some women wear men's pants.
I recently bought more of the same multipack I've been buying for years from M&S and was pleasantly surprised to see they fit the same as the previous ones as they have changed over the years.

I'm pretty sure men aren't wearing women's pants for the comfort and I'm almost certain that women don't get off on wearing men's pants.

Kranke · 13/03/2023 14:14

I can’t see any male reviewers on the link? Does it really matter if men do review them? I like M&S pants, they’ve lasted me years.

9Feb · 13/03/2023 14:15

Thank you for that link, I think, @savvy7
I see the review was posted in March so perhaps the M&S person who approved it did so too quickly and otherwise it’s not been noticed.

I see the poster described themselves as “Profile - Straight & Slender and Size 10” which could be misleading.

I think one of the headings for the M&S self-description used to be sex/gender, but not now.

VeronicaBeccabunga · 13/03/2023 14:15

Uniqlo do nice knickers, I really rate their hip-hugger briefs.
High percentage of cotton, wash well, haven't noticed any pervy male reviews.

You need to look at the "sexier" knickers and then you will see the male reviews. Here's another one:

To amend, ever so slightly, Shakira's 'hips don't lie' mantra, the immediate focus on these sexy panties is on the front design. Teasingly revealing with embroidered fullsome red lips would be difficult to better were it not for the detailing on the reverse - lace panels that, this male wearer finds, provide sufficient coverage while still maintaining an amazing wearing experience.

OP posts:
savvy7 · 13/03/2023 14:20

It bothers me because I like to read the reviews to see if the items might suit me.

What a guy thinks of them is of not use to me at all. I wish they'd buzz off into the menswear

OP posts:
Kranke · 13/03/2023 14:21

That’s odd, that review didn’t show when I scrolled through. Still not showing for me?

Doesn’t really affect me either way as I’m not male or a straight size 10! The review seems quite factual, and I can’t see how the wording makes it sound ‘pervy’.

unclebuck · 13/03/2023 14:24

M&S know men do this, they know it is a paraphilia and they allow it because male perverts are more important than women. In M&S in the last 10 years I have:
Been told off for breast feeding in the cafe and sent to the toilets
Been spied on by an old man and told off for complaining (apparently he had dementia and I should be understanding and kind)
Complained about the perverts reviewing pants and been told it is my problem
Complained about a man sat in the women's changing area and been told I am wrong, it is not a women's changing room 🙄

I do not shop there any more

But surely that would be the same if the person reviewing isn’t your size? You’d just ignore. I thought clothes were clothes and people could wear what they liked?
