Thank you but pleas have fallen on deaf lugs and harsh words will be met with a resounding do one.
I’ll absolutely be there in spirit with the radio but it won’t be the same 😖. I will be taping it though and will be matching the recording with the sb threads. So there.
Break time over. Ta for my crown 😘

I’m a very occasional attendee on these threads but I do love the tiaras.
I asked a question on another thread and no one knew and I remembers the knowledgable posters on this thread.
Now Edward is DoE will he get to wear Prince Philips coronet?
Not an expert, but my google research tells me that Philip’s coronation coronet (shown below, with his robes) was four crosses and four fleurs de lys. This style has been used by sons and brothers of Sovereign since 9 February 1662; and for daughters and sisters of the Sovereign since 19 November 1917. And also by Philip in 1953!
So, given it’s also appropriate for a brother of the Sovereign, Edward could well choose to wear it. There will doubtless be a few similar coronets hanging around from 1936 too, as George VI’s two brothers (apart from the Duke of Windsor) and one sister were present for his coronation.

Ooh, I love the Charlotte crown. I was pipped to the post there….you’ll look better than me with it on anyway Sheldon 😉
Don’t kid yourself cherub. 😉My Nan used to say ‘ye cannae polish shite’ - and if I’d waltzed before her in the Charlotte, she’d have muttered ‘and ye shouldna be puttin’ a tiara on it either Sheldon’ 🤣
What sparkles do you have gluenotsoup ?
If you are senza bling I am happy to surrender it. (If Maireas is ok to fiddle with the spreadsheet of splendour). I have two beauties already. 😘

Thank you for the new thread @Maireas
As we share the The Stuart Tiara, Max & I will be having a Rock, Paper, Scissors match to decide who gets to wear it on May 6.
However Max does rather like The Dutch Sapphire Parure Tiara as well so I'm encouraging her in that direction 😂

It's a really elegant dress - I imagine she has lots of rules to follow. It's so well tailored. Kind of how Megs' should have been. The sleeves don't look too tight when they aren't bent!

As Paddy’s Day is approaching (waves to compatriots), noticed an interesting details on EBG’s dress - Carrickmacross lace with shamrock, Celtic knots and emblems. Any idea of the significance ?
Et voila:
The Irish lace was another sentimental touch, this time honoring Frederik's family. It was part of the original wedding gift to Crown Princess Margaret of Sweden (Fred's great-grandmother) which included the famous family veil. The two pieces of lace from that gift have also been passed down and used on various wedding gowns in the family. The satin covering the lace was loosely attached and moved in the wind.

I really miss that blog

Also, on Mary/EBG’s wedding dress, I remember reading that she had her late mother’s wedding ring sewn into the lining of the bodice of her dress (she had died when Mary was a young teenager I think). Then some of the family members who attended the wedding took the wedding bouquet home with them to lay on her mother’s grave.
