Not the most exciting of threads, I'm afraid!

Should I keep these shoes for wearing to work, or are they a bit teenage, perhaps even toddlerish, for a 40yo woman?

I'm 40 and want to know where they're from? I really like them 😊

ALittleBitAhAh · 01/03/2023 17:45

Oh so I vote keep them!

feelinglikeanewparent · 01/03/2023 17:45

I thought they were your child's school shoes, sorry

LadyEloise1 · 01/03/2023 17:46

They look like my dds school shoes when they were in primary school. 😀

chevvyroo · 01/03/2023 17:48

Return! You are correct when you describe them as toddlerish.

Yoyooo · 01/03/2023 17:49

Can you show what sort of outfits you're wearing them with? That might make a difference!

Yoyooo · 01/03/2023 17:49

I.e I wouldn't wear them with a short gingham dress 😂

Oneofakind1 · 01/03/2023 17:49

They’re like the ones my dc wore to school in primary.

soleilblue · 01/03/2023 17:49

Return immediately

Findyourneutralspace · 01/03/2023 17:50

I’ve been looking for something similar - so I vote send them to me!

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 01/03/2023 17:50

I love them and have been looking for similar

Mybestusername · 01/03/2023 17:51

Keep

LadyC43 · 01/03/2023 17:52

Return.I hate this style of shoe for adults,

soleilblue · 01/03/2023 17:52

They look like they should be worn with frilly white socks

MarieRoseMarie · 01/03/2023 17:52

They’re awful. Sorry.

doingmyboxin · 01/03/2023 18:00

Thanks for the opinions!

I am not completely persuaded to return them, but I'm open to suggestions of alternatives?

I mostly wear plain dresses and black tights. Possibly trousers as there weather gets warmer.

Budget about £50.

Oh cripes, personally I'd say no but we clearly have very different styles and taste so why would you listen to me? If you love them and they fit with how you dress ie you can wear them comfortably with the rest of your wardrobe then of course keep them.

FT123456 · 01/03/2023 18:05

Return... they remind me of kids school shoes. Sorry

Bluecatseverywheree · 01/03/2023 18:07

I thought you are asking on opinion of your daughters school shoes..

GreyTS · 01/03/2023 18:07

For example if I do wear tights and dresses casually I wear either of these pairs of trainers, unlikely to set your world alight but they suit how I dress

Where are they from OP?

Pieceofpurplesky · 01/03/2023 18:13

I love them and wear very similar DMs. I don't care - they are comfy and look good with tights and a skirt.

They do look like primary school shoes even if you were in your twenties I'd think they were cringe BUT there are people who like this sort of thing, and dress 'quirky' not me though.

TraceyandJackie · 01/03/2023 18:15

I think little girl stuff on adult women can look a bit Grayson Perry, unfortunately.
