Thin brows are back! Oh no!

What do you think about the idea that eyebrows are trending back towards thin "noughties"/2000's brows?

I'm not a fan of the really really fat scouse brows, but I have liked the trend for fuller brows as I think they are more flattering. When I look at photos of myself from the 2000's with those thin brows I cringe a bit and think they looked awful (think Britney or Pamela Anderson brows). However that's where it's headed again apparently! Makes sense that brows are moving to match the clothes fashion I guess, but this is the first time I've felt truly old (43) as I really don't want to follow the fashion as I know how unflattering those eyebrows were the first time round!

you must be part Gallagher.

Then I’m the other brother because I plucked mine to death in the 90s and they still grow as two ugly caterpillars.

extrasushiplease · 28/02/2023 04:58

I decided to ignore the trend the first time and will do the same this round. Enjoy yourselves! Just know that for the past 15 years I've heard endlessly about people regretting plucking their eyebrows to oblivion...

FindingMeno · 28/02/2023 05:35

Huzzah!!!!
My permanently thin eyebrows from past overplucking will finally be fashionable again.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 28/02/2023 07:39

Well mine are micro bladed so I'm fairly stuck with them Grin

BeginningToLookALotLike · 28/02/2023 09:01

Audrey from Twin Peaks was my eyebrow idol

Mine too. No YouTube eyebrow tutorials in those days, though. I had to buy a copy of Sky magazine with a photo of her on the cover and try to work out how her eyebrows were shaped!

Longdrive89 · 28/02/2023 09:04

Yep I’ll be skipping the trend this time around! The photos of myself from the 90s with my pencil brows are not flattering!

Trouble is, unless you had an actual arch at the top you ended up looking like Lisa from EastEnders. Rather than Sherilyn Fenn.

Yes, this is a great example!

Brows frame the face and should be worn in the way that flatters your face the most. Very thick and very thin brows make people less attractive most of the time - why would you want that?

Cam22 · 28/02/2023 11:23

I like thin eyebrows but not that thin!!

Cam22 · 28/02/2023 11:25

I dislike thick, fake brows. Even the Princess of Wales would look better - even better - with slimmer eyebrows.

imagemini · 28/02/2023 19:27

I was looking at a picture of Frieda Kahlo thinking about how I thought her brows were massive when I first saw them, but now they're are just the norm.
Whatever the next trend is I hope is better than the awful thick black slugs that teenage girls paint on. They look absolutely ridiculous. Carla Delevigne looks amazing. Brook Shields looked amazing. If you have naturally thick brows then they are meant to be and look great. Otherwise, just no.

SameOldJunk · 28/02/2023 20:45

Over 20 years later I’m pretty good at drawing them on with liquid eyeliner (really, what's the alternative?)

This line just made me laugh so hard!

SameOldJunk · 28/02/2023 20:46

This thread has reminded me of this comdey sketch...

SwedishEdith · 28/02/2023 21:03

I don't think teens will pluck them. Mine uses special razors (I'd already warned her about plucking).
