Thin brows are back! Oh no!

What do you think about the idea that eyebrows are trending back towards thin "noughties"/2000's brows?

I'm not a fan of the really really fat scouse brows, but I have liked the trend for fuller brows as I think they are more flattering. When I look at photos of myself from the 2000's with those thin brows I cringe a bit and think they looked awful (think Britney or Pamela Anderson brows). However that's where it's headed again apparently! Makes sense that brows are moving to match the clothes fashion I guess, but this is the first time I've felt truly old (43) as I really don't want to follow the fashion as I know how unflattering those eyebrows were the first time round!

@MurderAtTheBeautyPageant see my photo of Gwen Stefani above! Pencil line thin!

LakeTiticaca · 27/02/2023 14:58

As a 70s over-plucker, I'm waiting for the "no eyebrows" look.
Then I'll be in fashion yay

Toffeeappler · 27/02/2023 14:58

Well that’s gonna be tricky for all those who’ve had massive brows tattooed on!

Natural but tidy always been for the win here!

Sharpbridge · 27/02/2023 15:01

The heavy ‘scouse’ brows look ridiculous.

The overplucked pencilled on brows also look ridiculous.

The most flattering brows are thick but have been plucked a tiny amount underneath / in between to clear up stray hairs.

Anyone who follows fashion with eyebrows is making a mistake.

JPG21 · 27/02/2023 15:04

Oh thank god! I over plucked mine in the 90s and they've never grown back properly 🎉

AutisticLegoLover · 27/02/2023 15:05

Oooh my natural eyebrows will be ok then. They just sit there minding their own business helping to protect my eyes. Hopefully eldest will get rid of her moth babies.

I thought of sherilyn fen!

Audrey from Twin Peaks was my eyebrow idol

LoobyDop · 27/02/2023 15:13

I always thought Liz Hurley had the perfect eyebrows, but I just googled and even she has grown them into caterpillars. They were pretty perfect like this, though:

Thin brows are back! Oh no!
shopmyfeelings · 27/02/2023 15:13

No fucking way am I going back to that after the effort of growing them back and years of bloody filling them.
Apart from anything, I've got too much face for thin brows.

Oblomov23 · 27/02/2023 15:15

I've never had very big or prominent brows. I get them occasionally dyed, thats the best I can do. Fashions are irrelevant to me.

TellSomeoneElse · 27/02/2023 15:18

Oh fuck off are they. Was nothing learned from last time?!

I prefer my eyebrows thin (not as thin as those pictures tho!!)

sunshinesupermum · 27/02/2023 15:21

Thank goodness! Seeing the end of Hungry Caterpillar brows is fantastic news. Do people realise how ridiculous they look, now?

aswellascanbeexpected · 27/02/2023 15:24

Well I'll be happy as mine disappeared with the menopause!
The worst thing about having virtually no eyebrows is that when it's hot the sweat runs into my eyes and it really stings, especially when combined with sun screen.

ClaritaCee · 27/02/2023 15:24

I have au naturel barely there eyebrows (thanks hypothyroidism) so no change for me.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 27/02/2023 15:24

I didn't do proper 90s brows even when I was a fashion conscious 18yr old, so I won't do them this time.

I don't do big eyebrows either.

I keep them tidy and shaped but the key is how they suit my face rather than fashion. They vary a bit in thickness according to fashion but only a tiny bit

Handsnotwands · 27/02/2023 15:05

Audrey from Twin Peaks was my eyebrow idol

her whole look was 10/10

Phos · 27/02/2023 15:31

Good. Never could get on board with people wanting to walk about looking like Denis Healy.

Mojoyoyo · 27/02/2023 15:34

Maybe a compromise is needed between the thick and thin.
It’s best to go with what’s suits.

Swisspolkadot · 27/02/2023 15:34

Like on video calls where all you can see is a face and two black lines and a mouth

😂

JamSandle · 27/02/2023 15:37

Your appearance isn't a trend. Do what you like.

Catspyjamas17 · 27/02/2023 15:41

I thinned mine out a bit when I dyed my hair blonde in the noughties and my brows suddenly looked a bit thick. They are sort of an in between size now, I didn't pay any attention to the fat eyebrow craze as it looked ridiculous. I just apply a bit of brown pencil to mine when I bother to put makeup on and occasionally groom around them with a tiny electric razor pen thing.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 27/02/2023 15:44

sunshinesupermum · 27/02/2023 15:21

They’ll still look ridiculous, but in a different way, thin eyebrows have as much comedy potential as the sluggy ones.

WalkAwaySugarbear · 27/02/2023 15:44

I had naturally chunky brows monobrow in the 90s, I spent so long plucking them back into mid to thin brows. I have HD brows now but I'll never go too thin or chunky again. Medium and neat in a natural colour is now my preference.
