Googled 'Beyond Paradise' and the first image showed a Toast dress.

dudsville · 03/03/2023 22:05

Thanks @OftenOrange i just bought this cardigan!

Ooh , that olive Donegal fleck is gorgeous . Do give an update when it arrives !

Snowyowl78 · 04/03/2023 06:45

Not a sale by the way but I think they’ve changed the price on some of this new stuff- I think upthread someone commented that the first one was nearly £300 and someone else said that the new bryn dress is £20 more than the other green one?

Snowyowl78 · 04/03/2023 06:54

And the dip dye?

They absolutely have!
The silk dress was definitely nearly £500!
That linen dress was about £300

Snowyowl78 · 04/03/2023 07:38

Well this is unprecedented.

another one! I have snapped this one up, as I had previously discounted it as it was £295 I’m sure. Still expensive, it will have to be perfect!

That's a turnaround for sure. I may have to have a re-think about my short list. It's my birthday later this month so I was intending to make a purchase. I so love that dip dye dress, they didn't reduce the skirt though. I happen to have last years version of the linen sweater the model is wearing with the skirt - exact same colour, so it has potential to be a ready made combo. The skirt will likely be something I can wear a great deal more, but the dress is so much more impactful. Decisions decisions.....

What if people have ordered as these prices! I hope they refund them!

neveradullmoment99 · 04/03/2023 08:16

I'm.more tempted at the panelled linen dress. It's just the simple dress I like. It's still over the £200 though.
Very, very expensive still for a basic linen dress, most likely unlined with no special features . I remember thinking £165 was pricey for a dress.
At the £200 + pricemark, I do consider looking at different brands now. Plumo is looking cheaper and I always thought they were £££

Stravaig · 04/03/2023 08:28

On button placement, is this of interest? Tailored hemp-cotton jumpsuit with buttons at the front, from Thought.

Snowyowl78 · 04/03/2023 08:36

Is it just dresses that have been reduced? I wasn’t paying too much attention to the price of anything else, except jumpsuits and they haven’t changed.

Stil all expensive though, i also have to put a £15 premium on most dresses as well as I generally get them taken up!

@Stravaig oh that looks nice!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/03/2023 08:36

@Snowyowl78 That’s the dress I really like, shall be interested to hear your opinion.

I will sit through it simply for the Toast clothes now (although tbf the scenery is beautiful). I wish I’d bought that dress.

@Countmeout - me too. I think last season's avaitor jacket also makes an appearance (spotted on the trailer).

That dress has been on a while! I would be very, very annoyed at it being less now!

Snowyowl78 · 04/03/2023 09:01

@neveradullmoment99 yes on the reviews both say that it’s nearly £300. toast are normally really good at retrospectively honouring lower prices in the sale - although I suspect people might have to ask rather than it being automatic? Or maybe they will as it’s a different scenario with this.

sadly the new jacket I bought 2 weeks ago has not been reduced!

Stoic123 · 04/03/2023 09:02

Really surprising about the price 'corrections' (for want of a better word).

@Snowyowl78 - that Tunic Dress has now made it it on my 'maybe' list. Do update please. Still expensive but potential to become a wardrobe workhorse.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/03/2023 09:04

And why are these so expensive??

Trousers

Saurus72 · 04/03/2023 09:16

That’s very interesting re:price rises/drops. I wonder how that kind of mistake happens, v strange. I’m looking at Sezane for dresses too - they are generally around £160 and the ones I have are well made.

I’ve also ordered this from Cos. Very 90s and compared to Toast an absolute bargain, hope it fits. Cos sizing/fit is all over the place on me so v difficult to tell.

Countmeout · 04/03/2023 09:19

I don’t know @neveradullmoment99 and these are just a tad too expensive and I really want to try them
www.toa.st/products/belted-canvas-fisherman-trousers-calico

Mind you looking at clothes elsewhere prices are a bit like what?
I'd rather buy a Toast pair than a pair of something not quite right and definitely not cheap cheap either. Definitely think buy far less but buy more thoughtfully.

I don’t think it’s a mistake, I think they changed their minds. Might be wrong. I do wonder if they stalk threads like this.
the one I bought clearly had not had many buys and it’s been out a while, and both reviews suggest that they probably sent it back.
be interesting to know the price that the GH article had the trip dye dress at?

@Stoic123 ill report back! My fears are that it could be a bit heavy and restrictive. With the arms, I don’t deal well with being hot in dresses.
