I am half hoping it's the dibbers - if only for the amusement value of this thread after they arrive.

My bet is some madder candles (they seemed to have a few leftover) but I'd like a drawstring pouch using old remnants (have bought a nice patchwork one in the past).

Stravaig · 01/04/2023 19:48

Ooh if it's the candles I'll be a wee bit envious! They were nice.

TempleofZoom · 01/04/2023 19:50

I'm hoping for a pocket mushroom not really
I rather liked the the string garland, so pretty and perfect hanging along the shelf above my desk and the scarf.
Soap would be nice Smile

mizu · 01/04/2023 19:53

@Dee1224 shame about Shepton mallet, I was going to check with them if they were planning another sample sale as I think it was around this time last year they had one.

Laska2Meryls · 01/04/2023 19:53

I'll be happy whatever it is.. loved the scarf we had, and the Christmas decoration we had last time .. whatever is nice to have .

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 01/04/2023 20:01

I’m voting socks - the ochre ones @faustina said had disappeared.

@ilovecherries -as it's early days in weight change, I would wait one more year and then sell them. Do weed out anything you don't really love now and use money to buy a few inexpensive bits to take you through this summer.

If it was longer term weight change (i.e. this time next year) or things that never really suited, I would get rid.

I am planning a mass eBay sale of clothes prompted by a passage I read: "Keep things you use and discard those you don't. Things are given life by being used. Keeping something because it would be a waste to get rid of it is a kind of torture. Free yourself from the waste argument, and you'll begin to see the value of things".

I’ve reflected on everyone’s advice, especially the above and gone through all my clothes with that mindset. The fact that they don’t fit liberated me from the mentality of ‘I can’t get rid of that because there’s nothing wrong with it’ and I was able to identify a fair few things that I actually don’t really care for any more. So they are heading out the door. I also found some things I’d like to be able to wear but I know they will be replaceable if I put on weight again (which I fully expect to once I feel better). So these will go for alterations. The rest are all re-packed and back in the loft for this summer. Thanks for all the help!

faustina · 01/04/2023 21:10

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - I would be MORE than delighted if those are the gift - they're beautiful!

MiracleToast · 01/04/2023 21:43

Is anyone expecting a parcel tomorrow?

MiracleToast · 01/04/2023 21:43

Or Monday even 🙈

Dee1224 · 01/04/2023 23:51

@mizu I asked the Shepton Mallet staff if they were planning a pop up or any promotions over Easter and the answer was no 🙃.

I think last April’s SM sample sale only happened as they had collated the leftovers from their lovely Ukraine pop up and put them on sale, albeit at a much higher price than in London.

Having said that, if, when I go next week, I hear of any discounts, I will post on here.

OftenOrange · 02/04/2023 08:52

@MiracleToast I’m expecting a parcel with larger size duffle tomorrow morning and they’ve included the Kindred gift

MiracleToast · 02/04/2023 09:50

Ooh looks like you may be first then @OftenOrange how exciting!

Laska2Meryls · 02/04/2023 10:16

I love that we are all so excited! I almost now dont want to know until my parcel arrives ( not yet despatched yet though ) its like anticipating Christmas as a kid 😃....

Snowyowl78 · 02/04/2023 11:30

I think that Pam Brunton on Saturday kitchen last week might be wearing the Franca indigo dress

Snowyowl78 · 02/04/2023 11:32

Actually it might be the boat neck one

MiracleToast · 02/04/2023 14:07

@Snowyowl78 i saw that and had the exact same thought! It looked v oversized on her

MiracleToast · 02/04/2023 14:08

@Laska2Meryls would it ever be possible that it was a substantial item like a blanket or quilt? That would be my dream

missmoon · 02/04/2023 16:50

Many thanks for the sizing advice! I’m still undecided, so may try the nearest shop first.

Laska2Meryls · 03/04/2023 09:44

... No thats not me there, loitering under the bushes@OftenOrange s front garden waiting for the arrival of the Postie.....

Snowyowl78 · 03/04/2023 10:20

@Laska2Meryls its exciting!
I thought I was going to get my chat Buffalo coat today but the RM site says ‘unable to confirm’ about my parcel since Friday. Don’t they know about the Kindred gift anticipation?!

OftenOrange · 03/04/2023 10:32
