My second pair of Fracap ankle shoes arrived, they fit perfectly straight out of the box, no problem with my right foot at all. So definitely reordering was the right thing to do.

I notice one reviewer had made the same comment about the right foot not fitting and had sent them back, maybe this was the pair I received and they are slightly smaller on the right foot.

Snowyowl78 · 04/03/2023 10:06

Found another! Tie neck firth check dress- was £245 now £195

if you get all the dresses up on screen they say the original price but if you click on them they say the new price!

I don’t think it’s a mistake, I think they changed their minds. Might be wrong. I do wonder if they stalk threads like this.
the one I bought clearly had not had many buys and it’s been out a while, and both reviews suggest that they probably sent it back.
be interesting to know the price that the GH article had the trip dye dress at?

@Stoic123 ill report back! My fears are that it could be a bit heavy and restrictive. With the arms, I don’t deal well with being hot in dresses.

GH has it at £495 @Snowyowl78 .

I wonder if feedback in store had been a factor too, people saying they would have bought but it’s too expensive for them. I don’t think it’s a mistake either but I do think it’s poor pricing , all this should have been sorted out before they were put on sale.

@Countmeout ah interesting! Yeah you’re probably right about the customer feedback

ToastCosILoveIt · 04/03/2023 10:32

The price changes are pretty poor (good for us they have come down), Toast in disarray. I also wish they would introduce at least a once a year 20% discount for lotal customers. Toast, if you are listening....

AFingerofFudge · 04/03/2023 10:41

I wonder also if this is a bid to get a few sales in before a sale in a couple of weeks? (Is that wishful thinking, I think they had a sale last year in mid March)

JustforToast · 04/03/2023 10:43

And another Toast dress from Beyond Paradise! I’m intrigued, going to have to watch it now

And now selling size 4! Have they really changed their sizing?

The used to do the very very rare discounts. It's been basically zero discounts since covid ( apart from that weird selected knitwear one in winter)
I would rather have a discount that the gift!

Interesting stuff re the price changes. Sadly nothing on my wish list has changed.

I like those trousers too @Countmeout , in fact I'm liking a lot of stuff they're doing in that colour this season, but it's not for me.

I'm tempted to watch Beyond Pareadise now! I think one of the gardeners on a Gardener's World recap was wearing some toast shorts. I didn't like how she'd styled them, but the show is about gardening afterall!

My chalk coloured DM's have arrived and I think they're a great alternative in summer on cool days to wear with dresses. They look good with my toast dresses and skirts.

Also, I don't trust the new sizing, too many comments about not noticing a difference, so my plan is to stick with my old strategy based on the shapes of the things.

The v neck pinafore dress

MiracleToast · 04/03/2023 13:06

That is gorgeous@neveradullmoment99 ! Love how you’ve styled it. I love how they have it on the model with the white shirt too. This photo has definitely confirmed to me that I would need a top underneath as it really is a low cut. Thanks for sharing, it’s so lovely on.

MiracleToast · 04/03/2023 13:08

A sale in March would be lovely. I completed no spend February which is wasn’t that fun, but it was nice to read about good finds on here. Away to go order the wool de-bobbler as a treat.

MiracleToast · 04/03/2023 13:10

Aaaaand it’s sold out, what a shame.

dudsville · 04/03/2023 14:39

i agree with @MiracleToast , I love how it's styled on the site and how you're wearing it @neveradullmoment99 , great choices!

TerrierOrTerror · 04/03/2023 15:54

I went into the Kings Road store earlier. Really do love lots of the new colours and could have tried lots on but was shopping with my dog (do love a dog friendly store!) so needed to be efficient.

Tried on the Gingham Check Dress and ultimately went back for it after a coffee and a think. It is much nicer than online, and is nice material for warmer days but I also think it's colours will go nicely with a lot of my cream/brown jumpers. The puffiness of sleeves starts just after the shoulder and so works really well with my narrow shoulders and generous chest. I usually wear an 8 or 10 depending on sale availablity and bought a Small in this. An XS would have been great on the tummy but there is no way that would have gone over my chest.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/03/2023 17:23

Thanks all. I am quite pleased with it :)
It is interesting how the gingham check dress puff sleeves start lower down.
I am not a fan of puff sleeves usually as they generally don't sit in the correct place which is annoying.

dudsville · 04/03/2023 20:58

I love gingham @TerrierOrTerror ! That dress is cute but for me i would need to alter the sleeves, and i won't do that unless it's a highly discounted sale item. I changed the sleeves for the french blue check dress, but at the sale price it was a risk i was happy to take, and it was successful. I'll be keeping my eye on this one. For you it sounds like a perfect placement for the sleeves as is! I love the idea that you went for a coffee to consider it rather than impulse buy - reminds me of when i did something similar over a house purchase!

Countmeout · 05/03/2023 08:31

The pinafore is a definite hit@neveradullmoment99 ..
I agree @TerrierOrTerror , I think the colours this year are lovely this season.

I had a trip to Toast today, tried on (among other things) the dip dye silk dress. They only had the 14 and the 10 in stock and I am a (busty) 12 so I went with the 14. It wasn't overly big: this is definitely not a dress to size down in, especially if you have a larger bust. I didn't think the arm holes were as gaping as some of the other Toast dresses. You could see a bit of bra but it wasn't excessive. I would have liked to try the 12 for comparison but if I was buying this dress, I might have well gone with the 14. It had plenty of room in the dress but the silk fabric and the drawstrings at the waist that allow you to pull it in means that it didn't look too big on me and the 12 might have pulled at the bust.

The sales assistant told me the label price for the dress was £100 too much. I asked about the lowering of the price and she suggested that there had been an error in a couple of dresses and they had corrected them.

dudsville · 05/03/2023 21:20

An error. Hm. And why haven't they re-labled those items yet?

Anyway, did it feel nice on @ToastCosILoveIt ?

dudsville · 05/03/2023 21:23

My exciting purchase has been a few pairs of falke soft merino socks. The new DMs are more fitted then my other pair which always needs thicker socks (i think i haven't learned how to tell if it's the wide or narrow fit) these are some great socks, but they are very very very dull.

They are lovely socks but I get really cold feet so I wear little trainer socks over the top.

Bit shocked about the incorrect pricing
Very poor, what a disaster.
Holding out until the middle of March in case of a sale but have got a good list going.

I'm afraid I'm in the minority but I really dislike the shape of the top of the V neck pinafore.
I hope they go back to the bib style.

dudsville · 06/03/2023 07:14

They're very thin, more of a summer sock!
