I wish they had made this in a different colour. As it is it’s too like the Alder. But a good shape for me.

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for.

The silk dip dye stuff is beyond buying price wise for me. I do love the colours though.

I reallke like that too @neveradullmoment99 . I avoid sleeveless but I woudl try that dress, like you though I would not like the incredibly generous fit.

Countmeout · 01/03/2023 13:07

Does it mention new sizing anywhere. Anything I’ve looked at doesn’t. Was that all a dream? Has it been abandoned?

I would nearly always wear a tee under it.

I kind of always wait until there is at least one review. You could chance it. At that price [and I may be wrong] I doubt the jacket will sell out anytime soon.
I was tempted to buy the ochre dress but I have the deep v pinafore coming tomorrow in tawny brown. Has anyone got it? Reviews did say to size down. I was unsure whether to size down one or two sizes. I have ordered the 10. I think it may be too small.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2023 13:16

I see that nothing says it has the new sizing. Maybe we are to assume it all has now.
How come this is this price

I think its because one is older stock. Seems a bit unfair though.

Snowyowl78 · 01/03/2023 13:47

The drawstring denim dress mentions the new sizing, but I tried on the drawstring lined one in a shop and it was still massive. I took a guess on this one because the model was in the XS as opposed to the XXS so I deduced it wasn’t particularly small. I wonder if it might be a bit hot and heavy for spring, but if not it’s exactly the kind of casual dress I’ve been waiting for.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 01/03/2023 13:48

I think there maybe some new bits of homeware as well. I don’t remember seeing this Shower curtain before.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2023 13:59

I love the denim panelled dress but tbh its the thought of it being too thick that puts me off. I have the denim straight sleeveless dress with the wee buttons at the front and side splits. Its such a gorgeous dress but the indigo still comes off on my hands. I wear it quite a lot. Its so lovely with something under it. It is one of my most worn dresses and is not thick at all. A lovely lightweight denim indigo.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2023 14:00

This denim looks thick to me.

A shower curtain! Hope it insults no one but who has a shower curtain nowadays ?

No insult taken but some people that have a shower over a bath?
Not everyone has a walk in shower.

Grin Unfortunately we do (but I’m not insulted). Until we finish renovations on our house I’m stuck with it.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2023 14:17

We probably should have one but Ive never gotten round to it as our bathroom is totally tiled.

Countmeout · 01/03/2023 16:13

Sorry I’ll not dig myself a deeper hole. It is a lovely looking curtain and I’m sure very good quality . And will match some of the bedding.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/03/2023 16:22

It is actually rather lovely but at that price??? Well I'm not buying it 😂

lordloveadog · 01/03/2023 16:23

Quite relieved I do t want anything from the new drop. The drawstring denim dress is a near miss - I think I'd look pregnant with all that fabric above tummy.

ToastCosILoveIt · 01/03/2023 16:44

The Tie Dye Silk Dress is absolutely gorgeous but the price is crazy. I will try it on if I am instore. I love the V-neck Cotton Dress too, I have added it to my wishlist. Thankfully I am not drawn to the denim jumpsuit (already have the wraparound one). I am really trying to be much more mindful in what I buy going forward: looking to see if there is a gap in the wardrobe or if the item will really improve my quality of life before I press the buy button.

I am sitting here in the Indigo Denim Shirt Dress which I see is sold out in almost all sizes. I bought it when it first came out and it has had lots of wear and lots of compliments - one only today from a friend I see occassionally because of distance and who said how fab and flattering it was. I am wearing it with a bright green small square silk scarf bought last year or the one before. I will post separately on scarfs as I found a good site.

ToastCosILoveIt · 01/03/2023 17:24

There was a discussion up thread about Toast scarves. In January I bought a lovely silk scarf and matching pouch from a site called Inoui Editions (inoui-editions.com/en-gb/category/square-scarves/silk-squares). The scarf is pictured below and is 65cm square. I paid about £45 for it (price was in Euros) for it in the sale (think it was about £85 full price) and it is lovely. I wear it so that one of the 'dolls' is on full display. it is a bigger scarf than the Toast ones but every bit as lovely and better value, especially in the sale.

Looking at some of the Inoui square scarves they have online now, I love the Purple Zack Scarf and the Archimede scarf. 65cm square is a good and practical size for the purposes I want - tied around the neck to decorate a dress or wear with a shirt.

Browsed the new stuff and bought the flat front denim trousers in Clay as have been wearing my Indigo ones to death. 27% higher price hike but if it is the same cut & weight as other, will get a lot of use out of it.

Also bought the Alpaca in deep plum as I decided I'd be really disappointed if missed it in the sale. Nothing else from new drop for now.

Noeggsontoast · 01/03/2023 17:49

@ToastCosILoveIt you beat me to it mentioning Innoui Editions as I was catching up on the thread. I'd mentioned them upstream as they're one of my favourite scarf brands. I received the Archimede scarf for Xmas.

I was so eager to see the official release of the dip dye skirt, and when I saw the dress I fell in love but then I saw the price and am struggling to reconcile it against the item.

Not too much I'm interested in aside of maybe the flat front jeans, the wrap jumpsuit which is out of stock, and the green Bryn dress or possibly the Romily dress, and maybe the Olive fracap. Out of those items, I really need none of them except the jeans.

A lot of the drop didn't seem to offer anything really new. Just similar to other things already available.

Countmeout · 01/03/2023 18:14

I wonder will a few more things trickle in tomorrow. Surely it’s normally a Thursday they do a drop.

ToastCosILoveIt · 01/03/2023 18:30

@Noeggsontoast , it may be you that put me on to Inoui in the first place! If so, big thanks. This thread has cost me £1000s in Toast and other recommended purchases 😀

We have similar taste: I have already bought the key things I want from this year: the wrap jumpsuit, the bryn green dress and the olive fracap olas. I also bought the loop back torusers and matching top in ink. That is it for me for a while but my wishlist includes:

  • the dip dye silk dress
  • the v-neck cotton jersey dress
  • the Nishiguchi Kutsushita Linen Socks
  • the half placket check short sleeved shirt (for my DH)
  • the colour block organic cotton skirt (or the dress version)
  • the birkenstock boston clogs
  • the rope embroidered cotton polin shirt
  • the tie neck firth check dress
  • the flat front twilll cotton trousers
  • the repurposed kantha gown
  • the alfie garment dyed herringbone trousers (for my DH)
  • the fracap ola in black (would be completing the trio)

Thinking about that list, I would be very, very happy with just the first three, plus the two items for DH.
