Does anyone want a fitted tshirt that needs dying? I bought it from thrift and didn't realise it had a fade mark which I think must be from sunlight or similar as it's where it would be folded. It's otherwise perfect - am fairly sure it's never been worn by anyone. It's Margaret Howell size 10, black, long sleeved, slightly low round neck. I have washed it twice in case it was dust, but the mark is still there and I can't be arsed to dye it myself as it's too fitted for me. It's 100% cotton (I think supima) and very nice if you like fitted t-shirts! I don't want any money but you could reimburse whatever it costs to post. If you enlarge the pic you can see the mark - it's on the right hand side in a sort of line (like where you'd fold it). It's too good to chuck! Happy to pass on if I 'know' you from this thread or others.

Oh dear I made an expensive mistake with my sideline stuff. 2 x too small and I don’t think I like any of the 3 I bought enough to try different sizes anyway.
looks Like it’s going to cost me about £8 to send back which is upsetting!

faustina · 27/02/2023 16:14

@Snowyowl78 - that is such a shame! What did you order? Royal Mail have some quite cheap (but trackable) ways of sending at the moment because of the strikes. I've sent quite heavy things and they have all cost me about four quid. You can do it all online if you have scales at home, and they will collect for free

Snowyowl78 · 27/02/2023 16:30

@faustina a skirt, dress and a shirt. All too small really but I don’t think the shapes suit anyway. As it’s £500 I’ll need to get some sort of super dooper postage to insure it. I’m finding the different options a minefield so I’m just going to take it to the PO to make sure I have the right one to cover me I think. Oh well more for my Toast funds!!!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 27/02/2023 16:47

Must be the day for disappointments, my Vinted dress has arrived with quite a few dirty black (grease possibly) marks along the bottom, plus what appears to be a green pen mark on the front a few inches up from the hem.

I’ve tried washing it with a stain remover but they are still there, not really sure what to do now as it wasn’t particularly cheap.

That's shocking. If it was expensive, I would ask for a refund. I wouldn't accept that I was happy with it.

Snowyowl78 · 27/02/2023 17:00

@Theteapotsbrokenspout oh dear! What dress is it? If they won’t shown or mentioned they ought to refund?

You can say it's not as described on vinted. I checked.

It’s the Flotsam dress, it was £53. Described as very good, no mention of any marks.
Just read the returns stuff, you’re not meant to wash anything you want to return, I didn’t realise that.

Snowyowl78 · 27/02/2023 17:13

@Theteapotsbrokenspout you could always take it in for a toast repair?? I think you can still raise this with the seller regardless though

dudsville · 27/02/2023 17:16

That's awful @Theteapotsbrokenspout. Hopefully you can return it. If not could you try out the mending service at Toast?

Anyone anticipating a short sale around March 17th? I've thoughtlessly 😂booked a trip without consideration of the likely toast sale and am worried that I'll miss the opportunity to return unsuitable things, but that won't stop me looking forward to it.

dudsville · 27/02/2023 17:16

Great minds@snowy!

Snowyowl78 · 27/02/2023 17:19

@dudsville snap!

@Theteapotsbrokenspout you could end up with a ‘renewed’ piece for a fraction of the price they’d put it online for!

TerrierOrTerror · 27/02/2023 17:20

You can try reporting an issue on Vinted, though I've not had great success with it.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 27/02/2023 17:22

@Snowyowl78 I've told the seller about the marks, if she doesn’t respond I’ll go through the Vinted returns procedure.

I’m over 2 hours from a Toast shop, so a repair would be the last resort for me. It would be different if I’d known the marks were there or it was an item I’d marked myself. Wish I’d saved the money and put it towards a new Toast purchase.

Grin I guess there is always that, they seem to be selling like hot cakes!
dudsville · 27/02/2023 19:51

It's really bad manners, i hope you get a resolution. The seller may not be able to tell you washed it. But if you keep it, and you're too far away from a shop, would you try your hand at covering the stains?

I just had a look at Toast stuff on vinted. I'm new to this way of shopping but don't think I'll do it much, mostly because no one seems to iron anything. But i found a pair of mittens i'd previously owned and have always regretted losing in the stupidest way possible (i was trying on a coat and left them in the pocket!), so that was a nice find. And I've bought a bag, I'm anticipating might be fake.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 27/02/2023 20:06

@dudsville The seller has offered to refund, so I’m going to do that. It seems I have to pay the return postage which I don’t get back, but I think this is the best resolution for me.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 27/02/2023 20:21

I would say about 75% of the stuff I’ve bought on Vinted has been a success. Some things I’ve sold on if they haven’t been right for me, anything really cheap that I don’t like is passed on to the charity shops. I’ve also sold quite a few of my own bits successfully.

I buy quite a bit of studio pottery as well, and I’ve only had one thing broken and that was refunded quite easily

dudsville · 27/02/2023 20:39

That's a great result @Theteapotsbrokenspout !

Countmeout · 27/02/2023 20:59

Glad that worked out for you @Theteapotsbrokenspout . But very disappointing. I’m sure another will appear in a Toast sale at some point..

Sorry to hear about the Sideline stuff @Snowyowl78 . It’s so difficult to gauge sizes online.

Toast won’t do a repair unless you can produce a receipt. I bought a blanket with them and it’s been unravelling, they insisted I needed a receipt - must have gone into my junk at the time - but they wouldn’t consider a repair until I found it.

Snowyowl78 · 28/02/2023 03:16

@Madoz oh that’s annoying. Did they end up doing it? I think that might be because your repair wasn’t clothes? It would go against what they’re saying on the website here. I took a few things in and they took both with no questions asked?

‘What you can bring for repair:
Any TOAST item of clothing (dresses, skirts, trousers, shirts, tops, knitwear, jackets, coats, nightwear or loungewear), regardless of when and where it was bought.

What is not accepted:
Footwear, accessories, jewellery, bags, swimwear, underwear or homeware. Any non-TOAST item of clothing.’

No they didn’t take it - I blanket stitched the throw, tried a bit of sashiko too, It’s a design flaw imo - the edges were left raw, it was always going to happen. An expensive mistake.
