Swansea probably have a special room reserved for Toast!

Gonegrey31 · 28/03/2023 19:45

I’m waiting for the neat wool cardigan in pea and the linen dress in an orange / ochre colour . Fingers crossed they may still come but seems unlikely.
I’ve also ordered the Space check linen shirt dress ( full price , ouch) so that should come soon . Will report back !

MiracleToast · 28/03/2023 20:06

Mine were unfulfilled all weekend and only came through as dispatched today. Thankfully haven’t been cancelled like I was worried. They must be unusually busy as that’s the longest weighting time I’ve experienced with Toast.

Trinitybean · 28/03/2023 20:10

meant to say mine were unfulfilled even! but they said they were coming, we shall see.

Trinitybean · 28/03/2023 20:12

ah good there is hope then, I think the Elm check will swamp but have high hopes for the Sutton gingham.

faustina · 28/03/2023 20:14

Fingers crossed for you @Gonegrey31

OftenOrange · 28/03/2023 20:24

@faustina I think you struck gold with that coat, I am sorely tempted but have a surfeit of padded coats already , mostly 3 yrs or more but still perfectly wearable.
I also have 2 duffles en route , I was able to reorder in my size today, but The smaller one had been sent .

AmethystMoonShine · 28/03/2023 20:28

What size did you go for in that coat @faustina? I like the look of it and got all confused thinking about Toast sizing. I’m usually a S or M in old Toast sizing.

faustina · 28/03/2023 20:40

@OftenOrange - I have had a huge coat cull this winter and am left with a couple of gaps so hopefully this will fill one of them - I'd been stalking it since earlier this year but my size was always quite expensive. The seller I got it from was amazing. I won it yesterday afternoon and it was here this morning!

@AmethystMoonShine it's an XS and very oversized in the body, but the sleeves aren't, in fact they're almost too short. The length is good for me (5'4) too. I almost bought a medium a few months back but asked for the measurements and it would have been too long

I'd be happy to measure it tomorrow when light if you like?

dudsville · 28/03/2023 21:45

Wonderful ebay purchase @faustina !

Countmeout · 29/03/2023 08:58

That was a real bargain @faustina .
I hope all the missing orders turn up shortly.

Well the pinafore dress is getting delivered to me some time this morning. Hopefully before I go in to work!

Off topic but bit shocked at Paul O'Grady dying. Wasn't a fan but he seemed a nice, genuine person. So sad and in this day and age, a bit on the younger side. Sounds like he may have died in his sleep. He had a long battle with covid and a couple of heart attacks before that, so not sure he was that well.

Saurus72 · 29/03/2023 11:14

@faustina My sale bed linen just arrived and it’s gorgeous, thanks for the recommendation. I can see what you mean about the smell but should all be fine once I wash it. This and the gorgeous socks are new Toast ‘categories’ - looking forward to buying more of both in the next sale…

Dee1224 · 29/03/2023 12:34

@neveradullmoment99 - yes, I was saddened by the news too. I used to really like watching his dog programme as we were adopting!

Dee1224 · 29/03/2023 12:36

@neveradullmoment99 I am looking forward to hearing about your pinafore as we both had other pinnies cancelled! I hope it’s nice.

AmethystMoonShine · 29/03/2023 13:23

Also sad to hear about Paul O'Grady, years a go when she was only a few years old my dog was on his show - handled by my SIL not me - and SIL said he was absolutely lovely. My dog was very affectionate and apparently really took to him....I always think dogs are a good judge of character :)

MiracleToast · 29/03/2023 13:42

@Saurus72 hmm, what do you mean by ‘the smell’? 🙈

venus7 · 29/03/2023 13:46

Order has just arrived.....not sure about velvet jacket, need to try it on with lots of different things. Love the fluid twill dress.......gorgeous green.....but it's very, very creased. Of course I can steam it, but does this mean it will crease easily when worn? Any info/experience, dear Toasties?

faustina · 29/03/2023 14:20

@Saurus72 I'm so pleased you like the bedlinen - it's beautiful isn't it?

@MiracleToast - it's quite hard to describe the smell. I gave DS2 a little spice pot one Christmas from Toast and that smelled the same. It's like it's been stored in a barn - a bit animal-y. It completely disappeared after a wash

MiracleToast · 29/03/2023 14:30

@faustina okay, I am very grateful for the forewarning of the barn-esque fragrance!

Saurus72 · 29/03/2023 14:59

@MiracleToast I quite often find this with bed linen, I guess it’s storage. After a 60 degree wash it’s gone completely (and I’ve got a nose like a bloodhound - for better or worse tbh 😬).

MiracleToast · 29/03/2023 15:04

thank you @Saurus72 —straight into the wash if I love the look when they arrive

TerrierOrTerror · 29/03/2023 15:53

I've decided to keep both jumpers, and my husband unexpected loved the dress so that is staying too. Cardigan being returned.

I have a second order of another cardigan coming tomorrow but it will have to be very special given how much of the first order I am keeping.

I also realised today I failed to use my Toast gift cards for either order - whoops!

Countmeout · 29/03/2023 16:06

I think I have a skirt in a similar material @venus7 . It arrived dreadfully creased, ironed up well and to be honest I haven’t noticed if particularly creased when worn but I am not well polished normally.

At least you still have them to spend @TerrierOrTerror which is a bonus.

Thank you countmeout; I'm not terribly polished either....but want the dress to hang well, and be fluid, as it's described, things don't when crumpled.
