@ScottishMouse - my update was long too 😀

I have the pint bag and find it super useful and it doesn't overpower pretty dresses. I reach for it often - useful for walks, the supermarket (easy reach for keys, purse, shopping list) and the pub (light/small enough to keep on when sitting down).

Laska2Meryls · 27/03/2023 16:59

Here is the cluster nightdress with the copper linen balloon trousers ( which I bought in the last sale) .. I probably could have got away with a smaller size, but its fine and makes a good summer kaftan , I think..
Have spent the afternoon altering my navy crinkle cotton trousers ( bought last summer sale) .. They have been in the wardrobe unworn and this morning I was wondering why.. Too short and flappy !! They were originally intended for summer wear , I think but the fabric is just too thick for that .. .. But thanks to Toast generous hems , I have taken them down a good 2.5in and now they look much better as long- almost touching top of the foot - wide legs . And I am wearing them !!

Laska2Meryls · 27/03/2023 17:00

And Doh! The photo

Laska2Meryls · 27/03/2023 17:04

@Stoic123 , The peaks print dress is lovely isnt it ? Glad you are keeping it ( now you need that Thorn shirt to wear with it as a jacket😉) its a perfect colour match ,!

Dee1224 · 27/03/2023 17:11

@Laska2Meryls I have the cluster nightdress and the pjs. They are so lovely. Good match with the balloon trousers!

Snowyowl78 · 27/03/2023 17:25

@Stoic123 i returned a small pair of those on Friday

Stoic123 · 27/03/2023 17:38

@Laska2Meryls - ha ha. Enabler!

@Snowyowl78 - ooh...

The neat wool cardi in bracken has arrived and it’s a keeper. I already have it in navy and have worn it to death. I think I will stick with the twill check dress in plum but I’ve put it on a hanger to get the creases out before I make my final decision. It doesn’t seem very substantial for the depths of winter, though. Still waiting for the fluid crepe dress which was a last minute order. These are my first Toast purchases this year and I don’t have the Llandeilo outlet to tempt me anymore. That’s what I keep telling myself!

AmethystMoonShine · 27/03/2023 18:33

Well, most of it is going back! Bit sad but good for my bank balance.
Keepers are the cluster PJs and the Ribbed Wool/Cotton cardigan in Uniform Navy, love this, perfect length, this will be worn a lot.
Going back are the pea coat which looked good from the front and side but not so at the back, the inverted pleat just didn't lie well and looked messy on me. It wasn't worth nearly £300 for sure. A real shame.
The black and Montella cotton linen tunics were very underwhelming, the conker wool/tencel top's neck was too high on me, both the olive and stone trousers were too flappy and the twig and berry PJs too big.
Just went to order the chalk boat neck tee as a consolation and it's sold out in my size M...although it does say new sizing...might check what size my older boat neck tees are....

neveradullmoment99 · 27/03/2023 18:38

Olive check dress is lovely and beautiful.material. cord jacket, really love it over the dress! Looks sweet.
Blue cord dress ( lovely cornflour) not tried on yer but I have the navy and love it.
Still to come - pinafore dress. Green cardigan in pea.

Countmeout · 27/03/2023 19:03

Pear cashmere mix scarf as lovely as expected. This was the only colour reduced.
Replacement nightdress really pleased with the reduced price.
Cashmere mix jumper in Truffle. I ordered M as mostly I do in knitwear. Didn’t know this is like the Pear one I ordered in the last sale on spec in an S as that was all was left and kept. Consequently this is quite slouchy but I think I will keep as it’s a good match for the ogee culottes and Alder dress. A sort of purpley brown. So soft.I love these sweaters although they ball like mad.

Well I had a 50:50 success with two orders. Stack cotton check jumpsuit - took a punt on it as loved it originally but as the reviews said it was waaay too big. And I had the XS and still couldn’t make it work. Neat wool cardigan in Rosewood- lovely.
Broderie anglaise shirt was too yellow for me and also needed something under it. Sadly returning. Tie neck check shirt in olive was great- I have the darker green version of this and wear lots.

I tried this today

https://www.toa.st/collections/womens-dresses/products/panelled-organic-indigo-denim-dress-indigo

it has rave reviews but I found it a bit of a stressful try on. It’s small in the upper half with small arm holes and a high neck and very fitted around the chest. I thought I may never get out of it again!

looked nice though, flattering. It was too small though obviously in my usual Toast size 12. I would try the 14 but I assume the neck would still be high and a bit stressful. Also might make the skirt bit too voluminous.

i’m just glad I’m not still wearing it.

My parcel arrived and I'm keeping everything.
I ordered this dress in a 12 based on toast recommendation when I'm usually a 10 in toast dresses.
I'm pear shaped with slim arms and upper body and umm bountiful bum and thighs and this dress in the 12 is perfect on me.
Hopefully it draws the eye to the upper half!
The Francis tee in stripe is lovely, as is the 3rd poplin top.
The Midnight loop back top and trousers are the surprise, I thought they might be going back but again perfect.
The top just elevates it out of loungewear, I would go out in this as its drapey and elegant .
Wish they did the other colours as a set or did the trousers sell out ?

dudsville · 27/03/2023 20:14

@Laska2Meryls , what a perfect outfit, love that and it looks great on you!

faustina · 27/03/2023 20:15

They've just cancelled everything I ordered!!! I will definitely be asking them tomorrow if they get any returns

dudsville · 27/03/2023 20:19

Oh no, that's so disappointing!

dudsville · 27/03/2023 20:21

I'd ordered the paint brush check dress and it has been cancelled. I'd tried it last yr and decided against it then had second thoughts thinking it would make a good house summer dress. It's disappointing but less so than having the whole of my purchases canceled!

Noeggsontoast · 27/03/2023 21:01

I'm just catching up on everyone's parcel joy and disappointments - @faustina that's rubbish.

My single sale item was the ruffled collar silk shirt in ice blue. I've just tried it on though was delivered at 9am this morning (crazy busy day) and it's a keeper. A good colour for me, can use for work as well as the weekends. I especially like the fact that the collar is not too high at the neck and I really adore the detailing on the sleeves. I think the sleeves really elevate this shirt.

I would love this shirt in a crisp white! I'm still searching for that perfect go anywhere white shirt with a point of difference.

MiracleToast · 27/03/2023 21:28

First parcel arrived for me too. Cluster print pjs in a small — love these and fit well, not too tight. Thinking could wear the top with white jeans in summer. Also the copper blue stripe pjs in a small but these felt a little restrictive. Medium is on its way so hopefully they’ll be a better fit. Pleased with myself for anticipating this as an after thought and ordering in a panic!

My final two orders haven’t been confirmed yet — fingers crossed.

AFingerofFudge · 27/03/2023 21:29

The first of my orders arrived today and it was a mixed bag. The returns:

  • the indigo twill trapeze dress looked terrible on me, so much material and made me look much bigger than I already am.
  • the check twill shirt dress just felt a little drab and I didn't like the neckline.
  • the gathered turrell check dress was almost a yes but it was a little tight around the legs and I wouldn't be able to walk properly in it.
  • the geometric jacquard skirt was beautiful but is only going back as I know I won't wear it until next winter so I ought to save the money

The keeps:
-The contrast stitch denim skirt. I sized up for comfort around the waistband as reviews said it was tight and so it fits perfectly.

  • the crinkle cotton checked blue dress. A surprise hit as I don't normally wear blue but it looks and feels great I think!

Probably keeping:
The patch pocket indigo twill trousers. These are a little tight and too long on me but I can turn them up and I absolutely love the material and the cut, they are quite wide legged which I think look good despite my short legs

More coming tomorrow Blush

applecatchers36 · 27/03/2023 21:53

Both my orders arrived today..
So am keeping the etched floral crepe dress & black utility jumpsuit, will be returning the floral tie crepe dress in oil as too shapeless on me esp compared to the other dress which fits well (as it does you Saurus).
Am sitting on the denim shirt and white poplin top both could be useful additions but they are not screaming at me like the dress and jumpsuit. May come round with another try on with existing clothes in my wardrobe. Overall a good haul despite a heavy spend on the credit card...😬

Dee1224 · 27/03/2023 22:02

@faustina - that’s really poor customer service and very disappointing for you! I hope you can get at least some of your order filled via returns. Did your order go through just as the sale was ending?

@dudsville - I am hoping the painted check dress comes back in stock for the summer sale so I can reorder in a smaller size. They will have loads of returns as the sizing is so erratic!

Trinitybean · 27/03/2023 22:06

Hi applecatchers36 is the etched floral crepe a normal waist rather than dropped as on the floral tie dress? I think I have made the mistake of thinking they were the same and the regular waist would work best for me too. The print is lovely.

MiracleToast · 27/03/2023 22:08

@AFingerofFudge did you get your normal toast size for the indigo twill trousers? I mused for too long over these and they sold out but may ask about returns.

OftenOrange · 27/03/2023 22:10

@Laska2Meryls Joining you on wearing the Cluster nightdress out and about , it looks great on you .
I just had an EBay bargain of a new Toast nightie , Koto block print .
Hoping it may pass muster as a dress too
