That sounds like a great outfit @ScottishMouse , what was the colour combo?

ScottishMouse · 13/03/2023 10:57

Thanks @dudsville. I wore navy culottes, oatmeal melange neat cashmere wool sweater, and the reed ikat wrap jacket which says it is bitter chocolate but I think the pattern is more of a wine colour.
Today I am still in (non-Toast) pjs as I have a lurgy and am in bed trying to shake it off.

dudsville · 13/03/2023 12:22

That sounds lovely! I've been in browns and oranges all weekend, I've really taken to this new colourway!

MaroonedOnADesertIsland · 13/03/2023 12:29

I'm in toast today too (not always guaranteed) dungarees from the summer sale and a linen striped jumper from a few years ago.
@ScottishMouse your outfit sounds lovely.

lordloveadog · 13/03/2023 12:52

It's snowing heavily AGAIN here. I'm wearing my favourite feeling-brave-at-the-dentist-outfit of brown tweed cropped trousers and sapphire blue woolly jumper, both from the winter sale. Gave me great moral support through 1.5 hours of abscess-draining.

OftenOrange · 13/03/2023 15:08

Loving hearing what everyone is wearing , the outfits are really inspiring .
Today is so much milder in London, first time I’m not wearing thermals and a chunky jumper.
Today : Annie in dark indigo, chalk collared t from last sale, ochre v neck slouchy cashmere cardigan , Falke merino socks and dark brown Bostons.
I was pleasantly surprised by the effect the t shirt makes under the cardi and the ensemble gives me a Bloomsbury vibe ( just. In my head but that’s what counts )

BCamera · 13/03/2023 16:13

In case it's of use to anyone, I've just received a size M in the herb organic easy tee, which has the new sizing. The size chart says it should be the same as last year's S (89/72/98). But it's not - it's actually exactly the same size as last year's XS when laid on top of each other. (I have last year's colours in both XS and S). So am going to swap for a L & hope that's a match for last year's S instead.

Zoetrope1 · 13/03/2023 16:50

I tried the Bryn on today, I really love the colours / patterns but not sure I can justify paying full price

Zoetrope1 · 13/03/2023 16:52

oops forgot the photo!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 13/03/2023 17:15

@Zoetrope1 That looks lovely on you Smile . How was the sizing?

Zoetrope1 · 13/03/2023 17:22

@Theteapotsbrokenspout the sizing is big. I haven’t tried a lot of Toast on but of the things I have tried on, I find the sizing to be generous. This is an XXS which I definitely am not in other brands!

ilovecherries · 13/03/2023 17:42

That’s a very lovely dress on you, Zoe.

lordloveadog · 13/03/2023 18:47

Zoe that looks fabulous. Could you suddenly be invited to a wedding or something which means you really need it?

I have it in the other colour way and am saving it for a wedding in May.

These colours wouldn't suit me, but are so springlike and pretty!

Saurus72 · 13/03/2023 19:17

The dress looks lovely on you @Zoetrope1 . I have it in green and I’ve worn it a few times already, definitely feels like it will be a workhorse of a dress.

Dee1224 · 13/03/2023 19:37

@Zoetrope1 the Bryn looks lovely. I tried it on last weekend but in large as there wasn’t a medium and it was huge on me.

The material feels like it would be quite hot in warmer weather. What do those who have bought this dress think of the material re: heat retention?

As I said to the ladies in Toast last week, Toasr sizes are in a transitional phase! Some things - like the cotton merino marl jumper seem like real Mediums- whereas the blue sail stripe dress was really tight on the bust, (and felt far too stiff, but it was a beautiful colour):

I hope @ScottishMouse and @lordloveadog are feeling better!

Zoetrope1 · 13/03/2023 19:39

Aww thank you all! I will think about it! 😊

dudsville · 13/03/2023 20:20

I love the sound of these outfits, and that colour combo is a favourite of mine @OftenOrange ! Which trousers are those you refer to?

Unfortunately for your credit card @Zoetrope1 that dress looks perfect on you!

OftenOrange · 14/03/2023 08:03

@Zoetrope1 The Bryn dress is really good on you , it looks the sort of piece that can go smart/ casual so easily so justifying the spurge!
@dudsville The trousers were the Annie side button in dark denim …my favourite.

I’ve had the Annie dark denim trousers for 4 yrs , still going strong , bought a second back up pair a week ago which may be slightly smaller in the waist and definitely a couple of inches shorter than mark1
I’m so envious of those who look good in the pleated waist trousers, I keep trying the Mariner style in which I had to size down 2 sizes, but being short waisted they don’t look good 😞

Do you mind me asking what "normal" size you think these would equate to? I'm a 12 (mainly bust) and struggling to work out what size I'd go for, ideally want a looser fit.

Was thinking trying both S&M but maybe M&L would be better?

BCamera · 14/03/2023 20:09

Oh it's hard to figure out. I'm 5'1" and a couple of stone overweight. I would say I'm a 14 but I'm not busty just broad. The M just pulled a little from the arm holes to the front, it was fine everywhere else. I would say the M is closest to a 12. The deliveries & refunds are working well at the moment so am just going to keep reordering until I figure it out. Although if we're due a sale this week things might slow down a bit.

AFingerofFudge · 15/03/2023 09:48

I feel like the sizing hasn't got easier this season, some things are definitely smaller but other things haven't changed.

Looking forward to tomorrow evenings potential sale although I am working so I'm not sure when I'll actually be able to look.

Laska2Meryls · 15/03/2023 11:14

I am back from the van trip and whacked an order on as soon as I got back !!🤣 Only for the navy ballon trousers I regret sending back and a couple of Emma tees. But looking at the pear flat front trousers has anyone bought them ?

dudsville · 15/03/2023 11:52

Welcome back@Laska2Meryls !

dudsville · 15/03/2023 12:19

I just saw the mere check pyjamas, they'll be in my basket soon!

Laska2Meryls · 15/03/2023 17:36

Thank you @dudsville , it was a fab few weeks travelling and certainly confirmed what my ideal 'now I am retired ' wardrobe should be.. No dresses! ( But that will be different in hotter climes) but I wore all my Toast tees and the trousers that I took ( along with other jeans ) plus my beloved Toast Mira jumpers (I wish they would offer those again ) .. So my current wish list consists of the flat front trousers and the orla olive shoes ( but will definitely look for a cheaper alternative, in the shoes ) , but I am also really tempted by the pear linen jumper and the workwear shirt ..

Why do we think that there is an imminent sale?
