Nice things new in at Toast

Countmeout · 10/03/2023 07:56

Has anyone tried this on ? I thought it looked lovely on yesterday’s video but have yet to see it on anyone other than the model and not quite sure of the cut of it.
I thought it would be versatile as the ladies from Graham street showed how it could be worn with or without a T-shirt but unfortunately it wasn’t tried on.

I don't like the colour or check. The style might suit someone with good shoulders and arms.

Stoic123 · 10/03/2023 09:20

@mizu - those two dresses (panelled linen in slate and the boat neck garment dyed linen) are gorgeous and top of my wish list.

I might pop into a shop this weekend and try on them on. Can't justify both but versatility means could probably allow one of them at full price.

I love that dress. It is definitely on my wish list. I would always wear with a tee unless I was on holiday.

Its fine with a tee.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/03/2023 09:36

Sorry, haven't tried it on and the reviews for the new stuff are taking forever.

dudsville · 10/03/2023 10:03

Just catching up on here, starting at the bottom i really like that fenugreek check yellow dress! I have ok shoulders and arms but, and I'm aware this sounds silly, i feel nude in tank style tops! I'm hoping it appears in a sale someday, it isn't crazy money but i like things to be under £100!

dudsville · 10/03/2023 10:15

Fingers crossed @ScottishMouse, it's tough going through interviews. I'll admit that although it's not at all a main consideration, it is a motivator for me staying where i am!

I really like the shape of that panel cotton linen dress and I'll keep my eye out for it but I prefer internal pockets. I have a tendency to have things in my pocket, or even my hands, and it messes up the silhouette of this pocket style.

I'm off now to check out those flat front denim trousers!

dudsville · 10/03/2023 10:27

I'm definitely a convert now to DMs, the pascal have been comfy straight out of the box, minor rub on one heel but not to the point of even marking the skin, let alone blistering. I now have too many boots though, and all of them lace up ankle style. How did this happen?

I can't find who up thread bought the flat front denim, was it this pair? I like the back pockets v much and wondered how they'd fit on a rounder bottom and hip, anyone know?

@neveradullmoment99 - there seems to be a technical fault. The link on emails I've received to ask for a review just brings up an error message.

I've notified Toast in case they aren't already aware but, if not just me, will explain why new season reviews are taking so long.

Ahhhh...that makes sense. I was chatting online with them about the pond dress. She says it is easy sizing so size down as it means they are generously made.

Snowyowl78 · 10/03/2023 10:57

Ooh I thought reviews were taking so long because no one had bought anything haha.

@dudsville what do you mean about internal pockets? Intrigued…

Noeggsontoast · 10/03/2023 11:04

@dudsville yes those are the ones I received yesterday. I am very straight bodied with no hips but I have a round tum and bum and they're very flattering in both of those areas.

Snowyowl78 · 10/03/2023 11:11

@dudsville think I see what you mean now, the fact they are not entirely internal is not that apparent, especially with the slate one. Might be more noticeable in the orangey one.

I got this the other day, I think I’m going to keep it as it’s so comfy and casual, I think I’m going to get it taken up though which is going to add a premium, it’s very long.

MerryChristmasToYou · 10/03/2023 11:16

The jeans look good.
I hadn't thought of wearing the dress over a t-shirt, and I think it would look a lot better that way. Like the pp, I'd also feel too bare in it as it is..

@dudsville , I have far too many ankle boots too. I have at least 3 pairs I've never worn, and some I've not worn for years. Smile Why? I have favourites. Two pairs are unworn because I've only bought them recently, and one pair is unworn because I bought two pairs, one brown, one black, and I wore the black ones but then my feet grew.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 10/03/2023 11:17

@dudsville i tried the flat front denim, they were really comfortable and flattering, but far too long on me. I did wonder whether to keep them and take them up, definitely worth a try I think.

Stoic123 · 10/03/2023 12:22

@dudsville - the flat fronted denim trousers are definitely worth a try. Very flattering.

agnesmartin · 10/03/2023 14:39

@Snowyowl78 Did the pockets sit right on the v-neck dress you got? Mine stick out a bit. Thought it might just be my bum (though the dress is pretty loose) but see that someone has left a review saying that their pockets stuck out a bit too.

I think I might still keep it as its so comfy and easy to wear but has made me pause a little.

Snowyowl78 · 10/03/2023 14:42

@agnesmartin i don’t think so? The skirt was a bit of a lantern shape but I think that was the idea. The only thing I’m worried about it it getting misshapen throughout the day when wearing, because it is jersey im wondering if it will ‘seat’ or ‘knee’ a bit.

the lady I take stuff to for alterations said she is able to alter it so I’m going to have it taken up by 3-4 inches.

agnesmartin · 10/03/2023 14:46

Hmm, thank you. I might keep an eye out and see if another in my size appears and try that as a comparison.

Great that you'll be able to shorten it.

Yes, hoping it doesn't bag as well. Unfortunately, it's not really the weather for giving it a good trial wear atm, is it? Brrrr

Snowyowl78 · 10/03/2023 15:03

@agnesmartin this is a bit mad but I’ve had insomnia last week and each time I have checked at 4am for that dress they seem to come into stock in the early hours and then disappear again by about 7am. Managed to nab one at some ungodly hour last week.

agnesmartin · 10/03/2023 15:06

Ha! Good to know. I'm in perimenopause so when I'm awake at 3am, as I often am, I'll have a wee look! ;-)

agnesmartin · 10/03/2023 15:06

Hope your sleep improves!

dudsville · 10/03/2023 15:50

Sorry for the insomnia woes, i can suffer that. Toast browsing and MN keep me entertained!

Great to hear the positive reviews for the flat front denim, I will put them on my wishlist!

Sounds like I'm not alone @MerryChristmasToYou ! I'm slightly annoyed with myself as i try to keep my wardrobe simple, but it's happened now!

@Snowyowl78 , i might be looking at the wrong dress re the pockets... off to check!
