i'm getting married in july and i need to find a dress for my bridesmaid sharpish as i can't sort out all the accessories flowers, mens craveats etc until i know what colour the bridesmaids dress is! i have searched high and low but i don't really like traditional bridesmaids dresses, and i really don't like satin or taffeta.

i've only got 1 bridesmaid, she's mid twenties, size 14, and pale with blonde hair. i need something quite plain as my dress has lots of detail on it. colour wise - blue/turquoise/green/lilac.

any suggestions very gratefully received - i can't find anything i like!!!

thanks

Cod - totally agree that these dresses are not up there in the style stakes, but you can't seem to get the 'structure' someone with my, ahem, curves needs in order to skulk down the aisle behind bridie...

As it happens, I still flashed my tranny pants t oalland sundry

Anyway, OP's bmaid is a 14 or something...probably slink into any stylish frock

beautifuldays · 08/02/2008 22:21

thisis my fav so far, but going to keep looking, and make her go try it on to see what it looks like of course

beautifuldays · 08/02/2008 22:22

ah but if i just gave her some money she would come back with jeans and a t-shirt

she is not a dress person usually, which is why i'm trying to avoid the formal evening gown things.

But Cod won't that just be dull??? You can wear black and white anytime. Isn't it nicer when weddings are colourful and happy?

Or am I just sappy oldfashioned clueless??

DualCylinderCod · 08/02/2008 22:26

i dont mind colour
its jsut teh " we haev a theme" thing i find u un bearably twee and of NO imprtance to anwyone outside the bridezilla

fishie · 08/02/2008 22:27

colleague had all men in waistcoats and cravats in deep to pale palette colour so they could all stand together like a fucking sunset.

beautifuldays · 08/02/2008 22:28

lol! we don't have a theme and who you calling bridezilla

the colours are based on the flowers and they are green, blue, lilac, etc etc

all the waistcoats i've seen are far too snazzy, so going to go for plain and get cravats/ties in a complementary colour to bridesmaid/flowers
