My head is so dry and itchy, its not nits! I've been using tresemme shampoo and conditioner and I think it's stripping my hair. Whats a good, gentle shampoo and conditioner please?

Do you have flakes?

plumduck · 14/02/2023 21:01

If you have flakes you need the vichy dercos shampoo

Theraffarian · 14/02/2023 21:02

Head and shoulders do one for itchy scalps , I ended up using it after not getting on with a gruum solid shampoo bar , don’t need to have dandruff to use it , it just seems to rebalance things.

girlmumma2019 · 14/02/2023 21:09

The body shop ginger shampoo, I go between that and head and shoulders itchy scalp shampoo and they are the only ones that work for me.

cheeseisthebest · 14/02/2023 21:09

I do not know why the word action is in there!

Philip Kingsley itchy scalp shampoo

cakeandteajustforme · 14/02/2023 21:12

Nizoral. Was recommended by dermatologist. It's amazing. For context on my scalp - if I scratch it I'll always get a buildup of white gunk under my nails, so very prone to dry scalp.

FeelinSpendy · 14/02/2023 21:12

The Body Shop ginger shampoo is fantastic for soothing an itchy scalp.

Christmascracker0 · 14/02/2023 21:14

I love the Aveeno shampoos for soothing my scalp. I’m using the pink Maui shampoo now which is also really nice!

RosesAndHellebores · 14/02/2023 21:14

I had a flaky itchy scalp for nearly two years after using a John Frieda Shampoo. I tried things recommended by the pharmacist, body shop ginger stuff, betnovate liquid, H&Sh's. Eventually I found the Head & Shoulders stuff for very very dry and itchy scalp. Shampoo, Conditioner and balm stuff in a smaller container. Pale blue/green packing. Cleared up after two go's.

Change to different shampoo. I was using Tigi all the time and slowly my head got itchier and itchier. I changed to cheap supermarket shampoo and itchiness went away. Maybe I had gotten allergic to tigi.

Pigtailsandall · 14/02/2023 21:38

Capasal. It's a medicated salicylic acid shampoo from the pharmacy. You need something that has proper qualities, not just clever branding

pursudebyablackdog · 14/02/2023 21:45

Original mint source.

OffYouPopNow · 14/02/2023 21:48

As I am -dry and itchy shampoo.

I’ve spent £££’s over the last 3 year trying to resolve my itching. I’ve tried everything from T-gel, Nizorel ,body shop ginger, Teatree, salicylic acid, head and shoulders…… so, so many shampoos.

drumroll · 14/02/2023 21:49

I have the exact same issue with the same brand . Itchy scalp and hair not as healthy looking . I also noticed my hair gets very greasy quickly after using Tressemme ! Won't be using it again .

I second Vichy Dercos! Only thing that works for me.

Soggyhouse · 14/02/2023 21:53

After 3 years of an itchy scalp and trying everything I was recommended I've now been using wella sensocalm for 3 months with no issues. Im a new woman!

Georgie8 · 14/02/2023 21:53

Tried Philip Kingsley and others to no avail. Abroad with very limited choice, so used Head and Shoulders Coconut shampoo -Game Changer!! Don’t use anything else now and also don’t need to use conditioner every wash. Saving several hundred pounds a year!

RogueV · 14/02/2023 21:58

Nizoral
Neutrogena T Gel
Alphosyl -
To get rid

Vosene original as every day

The Philip Kingsley one is £££ and shit.

Yes to The Body Shop ginger range, it's the only thing that doesn't make DD itch.

FindingMeno · 14/02/2023 21:59

Ditch anything with sls.

Snoopystick · 14/02/2023 22:03

Tresemme did this to my scalp too, I mentioned it to my hairdresser and she said it’s very ‘strong’ - think she meant chemical heavy. I think pretty much any other shampoo would be better. Agree with a previous poster about the ginger body shop shampoo - it’s lovely and smells gorgeous

Ireallydohope · 15/02/2023 04:56

Redken in the dark blue bottle

TigerMog · 15/02/2023 06:57
