Dupe thread (saving money)

Hi all,

I'm sure months and months ago I saw a general dupe thread but it's seems to have gone(happy to stand corrected and delete this one if this is a double).Since I can't be the only one who's feeling the crunch financially though thought I would share some of my dupes I really rate

Foundation- double wear Estée Lauder (especially for those pale people with no colour to their skin - mine doesn't seem to have either pink or yellow tones)
Top contenders - rimmel 24hr stay (lots of colours available)
And primark foundation (one in square bottle) - (less colour range but if you have your match) it's literally better than the new EL one in my opinion.

Fashion - Skims dresses - (bare with me I have a teen in the house and she's obsessed with skims) but it's massively pricey - found on SHEIN exact shape of one of the black dresses with long arms
https://api-shein.shein.com/h5/sharejump/appsharejump?lan=en&sharetype=goods&site=iosshgb&localcountry=gb&currency=GBP&id=11664972&urll_from=GM7344813307376230400
I'm told super comfortable.

Hair Oplex is amazing for damaged hair but again pricey. I found the revolution Plex range which again is a dupe in my opinion www.revolutionbeauty.com/uk/en/hair/styling-and-treatments/serums/revolution-haircare-plex-3-bond-restore-treatment-super-sized/1531603.html

Feel free to share any dupes you have found from any category and if this is a duplicate thread pls share the current one.

Primark have a dupe of the Charlotte Tilbury wands which are so nice (but I have never tried the CT one) and they have a dupe of the Chanel whipped bronzer, I actually prefer the primark version.

Lidl's Suddenly Madame Glamour is a perfect dupe of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle perfume. For £5. Saving you about £60.

I can't wait for the new Lidl to open.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 05/02/2023 22:25

Revolution do a dupe of Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. Think it's called Miracle Cream? Also not a dupe but for a good but inexpensive cleansing balm the Body shop Chamomile one can't be beaten imo.

Slimjimtobe · 05/02/2023 22:31

I don’t know what it’s a dupe of but I asked on here for a bronzer recommendation and have since repurchased 4 times

it’s Palmers Bronzer .. will try to link

also the best mascara I find is essence flash lash (everyone asks me what it is) very very reasonable

journeyofinsanity · 05/02/2023 22:33

Olaplex is not a protein treatment. It is also not a moisturising treatment. It is a product that rebuilds disulfide bonds in hair. There is a sum total of zero ingredients in that 'dupe' product that purports to rebuild structural bonds in hair.
People are confused by packaging and seem to think that if a product looks similar then it does the same thing.

Slimjimtobe · 05/02/2023 22:34

It’s physicians formula (not palmers)

it’s a warm toned bronzer & very natural (smells lovely)

I was looking for the Nars blusher as mine has mysteriously disappeared and I don't really want to shell out for a new one!
So I'm using L'Oréal Le Blush 135 Bois de rose, think I like it more and it was about £8!

Reinventinganna · 05/02/2023 22:43

I’m going to bed but place marking for tomorrow!

I hated the Aldi dupe of LE hot cloth cleanser. It stung my eyes!

👍. Aldi were doing dupes of Nars a while ago, I just can't justify the price at the moment.

It's a dupe of Take the Day Off by Clinique apparently.

ladymacbeth · 05/02/2023 22:50

I get what you're trying to do OP and love a good dupe, but please please please don't recommend Shein. They are investigated and rated as the worst of the worst - slaves are making those dresses, and any that get returned go straight the landfill as cheaper than putting them back into the system.

PatsysBeehive · 05/02/2023 21:25

Does anyone know of a good dupe for NARS Orgasm blush? I don't have an Aldi or Lidl nearby so would be an online order.

Milani baked blush in dolce pink is a fantastic one and it’s only about £12 at boots.

Youpillock · 05/02/2023 22:50

Armani silk foundation - The Aldi dupe is excellent.

Have never found a good dupe for Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter though.

catfunk · 05/02/2023 22:52

See pic - great dupe for midnight recovery oil.
Aldi hot cloth cleanser is also brilliant dupe for Liz Earle - the smell is more authentic than the Superdrug one.

@Youpillock elf halo is a good dupe of flawless filter, usually sold out though - I've also been trying the latest maybelline offering - it's a lot more sheer than ff but it is lovely

Carlycat · 06/02/2023 02:17

I'm looking for a dupe for Laura Gellar Balance and Brighten too. I can't afford her prices

LadyOfTheCanyon · 06/02/2023 02:37

Collection Filter Finish is an excellent dupe for Flawless Filter, and it's £6.99

@rookiemere I have heard this ! Is it any good ? Always good to get other's opinions before purchasing.

@ReamsOfCheese ahhh Brillant my sister loves this one !

If anyone likes snow fairy smell from lush - I have a wax melt things from Amazon that smells like this ! I realise though not all people love lush smells

Can we have a link for the wax melts please? I'm on the hunt for the best snow fairy dupe and have yet to find it. Everything is too weak or the smell fades in minutes!

NashvilleQueen · 06/02/2023 05:07

Just after Christmas Aldi did a Drunk Elephant moisturiser dupe. Very similar packaging. It was all over TikTok so I was dispatched by my teenager to find it. One shop had one pot which they couldn't find a code for so just made up a price (think it was about £4). Never seen it since though.

PatsysBeehive · 06/02/2023 05:20

Thanks so much for the blush recommendations everyone 💐

PAFMO · 06/02/2023 06:01

Ahhh Frezyderm.
I've never come across a primer/sunscreen (which is essentially what Frezyderm is) but it's a brilliant product. Even in 40 degrees it kept my make up on and my mozzarella face unburned.

I can see that Take the Day Off and Body Shop Chamomile are very similar in texture. I have a feeling the BS one has been around longer. I've certainly been aware of it for longer. Both great.

FindingMeno · 06/02/2023 06:07

Some of the Milton Lloyd perfumes are great dupes.
I particularly like the dupes for Coco, Chanel no 5, Giorgio, and ysl Paris.

StarsSand · 06/02/2023 06:24

Maybeline Lead the Way is an improvement on Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk IMO. I find pillow talk really drying.

Rainmakerof69 · 06/02/2023 06:55

Revolution sell a factor SPF primer, no idea if it's a dupe or not.
Caroline Barnes said IRL Revolution foundation was a dupe for Hourglass Ambient foundation.

Mxflamingnoravera · 06/02/2023 07:08

If there is baked and brighten dupe I'd like to find it to. It's transformed my approach to make up. It lasts for ages though so maybe it's economical and I sometimes buy it on QVC when they have it on special value.
