SOTD Nishane Ani. So, I've been wearing this for about 30mins now and it's far brighter and zestier than I had expected, with the ginger, bergamot, cardamom and blackcurrant very much to the fore. Will be really interesting to see how this develops over the next few hours. It's not an immediate 'love' so far, but it's beautifully blended, luxurious and the sillage is pretty epic!

I snapped up a very discounted Miller Harris fragrance, La Fumee Alexandrie, today in my local TKMaxx for €60 instead of €230! I had a quick look at Fragrantica and reckoned it was worth a blind buy, and it's a gorgeous woody, spicy rose with a bit of leather and oud. It's lovely on me.

Snap! Too good not to. I am looking forward to it arriving

SOTN is Shalimar, with the last of the Easter Hot cross buns for a light dinner. 🌷

Hello, I have been awol as I have had Covid again! I can smell a bit but no taste! SOTD TF Soleil Blanc.

I have been a bit naughty and bought both Penhaligons Juniper Sling and Diptyque Papier on a wee trip away. I did a big job on my side hustle plus had birthday money, so YOLO.

SOTD is Etat Libre La Fin Du Monde. My husband just asked what I am wearing as it smells nice. High praise indeed

Envious of @DramaAlpaca and @IrisApfelRocks for snaffling La Fumee Alexandrie. I picked up La Fumee Arabie on the cheap a while ago and therefore don't think I can justify Alexandrie, although the rose note makes it sound right up my alley. Arabie is all about dry spices and heat.

To stick with the MH theme SotD is Rose en Noir.

I am wearing a sample size of Tom Ford. Something Blanc? Ok but would not pay out for full size. Sorry don't appear to have packed it in my work bag - was it Santal Blanc. Who knows!!!

I've also been feeling ill all week & very irritable. But dd1 has been home from uni, revising for her finals & keeping me company. In between revising we've been watching lots of Netflix. She's not often home these days as she's nearly 24 ( long 5 year course) so it's been lovely to have her here. Plus our spaniel is literally on his last legs & she's still his numero uno 😥

Soleil blanc?

In exciting news I have just found a vintage bottle of L'Heure Bleue EDP I completely forgot I had.

Catching up with the thread... The M&S sandalwood sounds a hidden (bargainous) gem, so will sniff next time I'm passing through. We have quite a good M&S, so am hoping they have it.

SOTN is Ambre Orient. Powdery heaven. I keep describing this as a powdery sandalwood, but if I was being picky, it's really powdery amorphous warm woods. Still amazing though.

I dont actually know,maybe Poudre Imperial from Sous le Manteau, they were going cheap in TkMaxx so nabbed a bottle.

Tell us what Poudre Imperiale is like, @InsomniacVampire?

SotD is Si Le Parfum. Boozy Nesquick. Similar vibe to L'Extase Rose Absolue, but without the roses...😁Rich syrupyness for grown ups who want to luxuriate but who don't want tooth rot. Just noticed this is cut through with a really dirty indolic jasmine.

SOTD Paradox by 4160T, from the unloved samples box. Very green and very violetty, like Parma Violets really, with an undercarriage built of pure... celery.

I put it on a few hours ago and I kept hoping that I'd rediscover a lost love but, nope. Thankfully I'd cautiously only sprayed on one wrist, so I can easily scrub. Sigh.

@FestivelyScent I think Ambre Orient is now discontinued, unfortunately. From your description and the notes it’s definitely something I’d enjoy.

A WARNING to everyone: I very strongly suspect the Scent Sampler is selling dupes rather than authentic perfumes. On their sale, the prices seemed too good to be true for genuine samples (eg less than £10 for 10ml of MFK Grand Soir) and I think it’s because they are dupes. The most obvious issue is texture - the samples are all pretty oily. But I also have a (definitely genuine) FB of one of the scents I ordered a travel size of, and as well as texture the scent itself is different.

SOTD is Chanel Le Lion (from a genuine sample!) Definitely a relation of Shalimar.
