Oops! Looks like we ran out of space on the last thread - I hope you all find your way over here.

Anyway, welcome fragrant friends to a shiny new thread!

As always, everyone is very welcome - we're most definitely open to Newbies. Come and discuss your Scent Of The Day (SOTD), old favourites, new infatuations, the best dupes and scents of any price point. We are very friendly! 😊

What a fabulous name for a perfume @LadyOfTheCanyon.
Sotd is Phaedons Hesperys - lavender, camomile & herbal essences. It's evocative of the original herbal essences shampoo.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 24/03/2023 18:31

Yes it's a lovely name, makes me feel a bit Great Gatsby-ish!

FestivelyScent · 24/03/2023 23:13

SOTN is Miss Dior Originale, because I felt quite spring-y today and the weather was a bit warmer. 🌷🐣

I think that's why I love your blog...you're never nasty or disparaging about a perfume.

Thank you @Chevyimpala67! I learned that if you slate a perfume then someone somewhere will be sad and think "but that's my favourite!". These days I just say a perfume doesn't agree with me or has too much oud!

MissBattleaxe · 25/03/2023 11:52

Yesterday I dia lovely perfumey day in London and visited Sarah at 4160 Tuesdays, Fortnum and Mason (Amazing perfume hall!) and then popped into Ormonde Jayne to sample Levant intense and Arabesque, as well as Ormonde Jayne Woman, which I'd heard a lot about but never tried.

All in all, a highly scented day. I felt sorry for the people next to me on the tube during rush hour. I was wearing about 18 perfumes by the time I went home!

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 25/03/2023 14:03

My SOTD today is Endless euphoria. So different from the original, there is a slight powderiness to my nose and it’s floral, I sense rose but there is allegedly cherry blossom. Very pretty for spring but unfortunately does not last very much.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 25/03/2023 23:23

Commodity Velvet today. I like this one.

FestivelyScent · 25/03/2023 23:51

That sounds like a dream day @MissBattleaxe 🛍️

SOTN is L'aimant, for clock change night - don't forget to put 'em forward! Brighter evenings are on the way!🌷

SotD is Choc de Cardin. Nothing to do with confectionary; choc as in shock. An electrifying citrus/green/alydehydic opening turns into a dirty animalic moss. All in quite a strictly marshalled way - a precision strike of a perfume.

Think there is a reformulation back on the market? The original is worth never being without.

Chevyimpala67 · 26/03/2023 18:41

Sotd 4160tuesdays clouds illusion.
Smooth and buttery.
Glorious 💙

CorneliaStreet · 26/03/2023 18:50

SOTD was Replica Coffee Break, SOTE Kayali Vanilla 28. Having recently worked my way through the Kayali sample set, Vanilla is definitely the best of them for me (though I liked the Amber too). They’ve just released a new one that apparently smells of pistachio ice cream, not quite sure what I think about that!

FestivelyScent · 27/03/2023 00:53

SOTN is Shalimar. The clocks doing their thing didn't affect me as much as it usually does - apart from a few 'is that really the time?' moments. I'm quite pleased, as normally I feel out of sorts for days. And the lighter evenings feel very welcome this year. 🌷

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 27/03/2023 16:36

SOTD M&G Dark Rum. No idea why I don’t wear this more.

InsomniacVampire · 27/03/2023 18:15

4160 Tuesdays is doing a new crowdfunding, so so excited for it!

In the meantime, BDK Wood Jasmin.

alltheevennumbers · 27/03/2023 19:06

SotD is Extreme Purete (Gres) - this is a very good quite unusual airy tobacco/fig combo. Perfect for early spring as it is fresh but not chilly. Complete steal at sub £20.

alltheevennumbers · 27/03/2023 19:08

Fruit de la Creativite is is the same Gres line, and is a similarly pleasing and bargainous raspberry/rose leather.

FestivelyScent · 27/03/2023 23:46

SOTN is Ambre Orient. The sun was out all day today for the first time in ages, although it was very cool in shade. So cheering to see all the bulbs in full bloom in the park. 🌷🐣

Yes!
I'm going for both:)

Deathraystare · 28/03/2023 15:38

@Alltheevennumbers

Thanks! Just bought some on Amazon! Sounds just up my street!!!

Cantonet · 28/03/2023 16:59

Eau d iparie by L'occitane is Sotd.
A slight green & warming nude incense.
It's been relaunched recently & is such a unique & beautiful perfume.

FestivelyScent · 28/03/2023 22:43

SOTN is Shalimar.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 28/03/2023 22:51

SOTD Chanel No 5. I really, really wish the weather would warm up!

alltheevennumbers · 28/03/2023 22:56

Rubbish day, so SotE is Diorella as a special treat. Tonight this struck me as very close to Le Perfume de Therese, although Diorella is more conventionally beautiful to Le Perfume de Therese's striking but slightly unconventional handsomeness?

Report back @Deathraystare!

I want some Eau d'Iaprie, @Cantonet - sniffed it recently at L'Occitane's flagship store on the Champs Elysee, which was confusingly full of macaroons, but got my mouillettes in a muddle and left with a bottle of Ambre.

JFDIYOLO · 28/03/2023 23:58

SOTd was Jasmine Est, the new one by Saltworks
