Perimenopause has given me curly hair - can I have this at my age?

I’ve given in and bought products for curly hair, scrunch dried it rather than blow dry it straight.
Ive had a mixed reaction from work colleagues (one or two quite catty comments actually).
Can I ask your honest opinion, am I too old for this?

Thank you. I’m 50. Yes, someone much younger said ‘ugh look at you, like Diana Ross there’.
It really stung for some reason. I immediately felt like I was stupid to even try doing it.

I think it looks totally gorgeous. The catty comments are pure jealousy.

As a (slightly bizarre) aside, my poker straight hair got a wave, and my true blue eyes got a couple of green flecks a few months after m mother died. (She had green eyes).

I never knew this was a symptom/sign of perimenopause! Mine has changed too and I wondered why. Yet another thing that points to it for me.

@Headaches Give that person a wide berth from now on. Your hair looks great. If they're threatened by that or feel the need to cut you down, that's their issue. You stand tall and claim your space in the world. You rock that gorgeous hair, seriously!

What a strange comment! I think your hair looks great - I have a similar style but brunette and a bit curlier.

My hair was straight until puberty, when it curled - was a shock at the time. Hormones definitely affect hair curliness! I'm late 40s and just starting to notice less ringlets and more soft curls. Maybe I'll be straight in my old age?!

I think it’s because it so very different to how it is when I style it straight. It’s a complete change.

Mine is the same. I went through menopause at 37 due to autoimmune issues and my hair had gone from straight to very curly! The whole texture is different, I think the added grey has made it coarser too. I struggle to like myself with it as it feels so alien to me. I’ve started following a lot of curly hair pages on instagram (hanz curls is a good one). Sadly people will always be arseholes - someone close to me this week found it very funny to say my hair looks like a “load of pubes”. 🙄😡

Me too! I'm currently trying different things. Wearing it 'straight' is not just frizz so I have to do something. Weirdly I scrunched mine for the first time today.
