Perimenopause has given me curly hair - can I have this at my age?

I’ve given in and bought products for curly hair, scrunch dried it rather than blow dry it straight.
Ive had a mixed reaction from work colleagues (one or two quite catty comments actually).
Can I ask your honest opinion, am I too old for this?

Hairdresser here , OP it looks great and the colour is beautiful. I had slightly wavy hair that I straightened. Since peri menopause I have now what I can only describe as full on Shirley Temple curl (and she wore wigs so could remove hers). So I'm rocking it with plenty of curl enhancing product. It's the new me 😉

You can have curly hair at any age.

I'm 50 and this is pretty much my natural look (I say natural, it's dyed blond 😆) so I'm all for it. I have recently started hrt and my hair hasn't got the curl it used to.

OP it looks amazing! Your hair is pretty much identical to mine in wave, length and thickness, I mostly dry it straight as it's faster for me, but when I go curly and embrace the wave most people say I look younger ( I'm 53) and wish they had such versatile hair, why don't I do it more often etc etc. Catty comments usually come from those who are jealous or who haven't got the courage to drop the straighteners! Have a look at The Silver Kat on Instagram, she's a hairdresser and has a similar natural wave, she looks amazing when she goes curly! Anyway, you've inspired me, I'm going wavy today!

Quite possibly- mine went straight in puberty and has gone back to curly like OP, although mine is straighter on the top so looks a bit of a mess if I leave it. OP yours looks great. Your colleague sounds horrible!
