Like everyone else, I am flabbergasted at the Renewed prices! Especially as some of their customers will have been repairing clothes our entire lives, often with creative wonkyness, so are not overly impressed.
Remember the velvet flat-fronts? I had them in deep navy and chocolate brown. I did what I always do, I didn't bother tying or tucking the chain side leg before getting on my bike, and ripped the chocolate ones near the hem on the very first wear. I was rushing to pack before heading to the airport for a training event. I took a single strand each of red and pink embroidery thread, best options handy, and did a quick cross-stitch across the rip, frayed edges still peeking out.
I had as many comments on that 'feature repair' as I did on the boots I was wearing (those Spanish riding boots with scalloped placket over the zip which were popular at the time). That was twenty years ago, and the repair took all of 10 minutes as I scrambled out the door.
FFS Toast. You haven't invented mending, nor creative patching and embroidery to embellish repairs. Get a grip.
