There was a LIVE on tonight about loungewear

Snowyowl78 · 02/02/2023 22:02

It was very short!

Stoic123 · 03/02/2023 07:25

It was a rather odd Toast Live session. Not sure the presenter looked that comfortable about the whole thing. Wonder if they'd expected more stock to pick from.

I would have liked to see the loopback top untucked.

Snowyowl78 · 03/02/2023 08:08

@Stoic123 yeah not much to see. Untucked it’s a little bit flared out rather than neat and gathered. They are slightly shorter. I love them.

is this new?! uniformresearch.co.uk/woman/women-brands/toast-woman/toast-maya-driftwood-check-cotton-dress-golden-brown.html

Stoic123 · 03/02/2023 08:17

@Snowyowl78 - yes, that's new. I like the new gingham dress on the site too.

Oh, I think I need that dress now
will it be on the Toast website?

Countmeout · 03/02/2023 08:35

Oh I like that dress too but may be too similar to the Alder.

Awful price though.
This is new too

If you look back on Graham Street blog it is very like a dress they showed. I think the sleeves are too full for me.

@Nanasueathome - should appear at some point. They usually stock up the independent stockists and stores first.

lordloveadog · 03/02/2023 09:08

I like the sleeveless seersucker, but it's very expensive for a cotton dress and as PP said it's quite like the previous one. I nabbed that in a sale and found it ideal on holiday, but won't get another at that price.

neveradullmoment99 · 03/02/2023 09:23

Well It was nice to see the pinafore dress. Really liked that in the video.
The whole session was very contrived. It kind of irritated me. Why they have to pick someone so typically living in a Toast house, living a Toast life [artist] she probably had a Toast name too.
Other people wear their clothes! Very stereotypical.
Anway, last of my sale purchases...
Cord blue skirt - hideous. So sad about this and absolutely tiny on the waist.
Hideous down to the cardboard effect a-line. Such a shame. I love an a-line but this was seriously exaggerated. Gorgeous colour and fabric but absolutely going back.
The solovair forest boots. Gorgeous. Lovely in every way.
I snapped up the indigo sleevless dress with the side splits. Stunning dress too.

Not buying anything from the new collection atm. It is so expensive with most dresses now almost hitting the £200 mark. Also trying to lose weight so most won't fit when I am slimmer, which will annoy me.

On my wish list are:

The check pinafore dress [crinkly]
Really love the ochre pinafore dress with the deep v
The red and white check trousers.
The indigo long skirt
like to try the two tone skirt but what on earth would you wear with it?
Love the cream raincoat but nearly£300 definitely a sale purchase.
Love the jersey wide leg trousers in dark navy

neveradullmoment99 · 03/02/2023 09:34

How does eveyone cope with weight fluctuations? I now have a wardrobe for a size 14 [ so toast 12 in old money]
When I lose weight, most won't fit? Do you keep your bigger sizes or find that Toast stuff still fits you but with a more oversized vibe?
Ive loads of things that are 10's in Toast [ when I was a 12] Some fit but are tight on bust.
Its very annoying! I find I maintain my weight for a couple of years then bang, I am back to being a 14!

neveradullmoment99 · 03/02/2023 09:35

..but ive high blood pressure so need to lose some weight.

neveradullmoment99 · 03/02/2023 09:37

Also, with Toast kindred, does anyone know if they still keep you on if you only buy in the sale?

I think I’m unusual in that I have always worn my normal high street size in Toast. I’ve never had to buy the smaller sizes that other people seem to need to. In fact, I can’t usually wear their fixed waists in a 12 as they are just too neat. I guess what I’m saying is that I find their sizing pretty flexible depending on how you like the fit, and would often cover one size in either direction. My caveat is I do like a slightly oversized look. If things are just too big I get them tailored slightly. I do have a few things in much bigger sizes that I had years ago - these are probably too big to tailor at 3-4 sizes too big.

dudsville · 03/02/2023 11:31

@neveradullmoment99 , i only bought two tees and 3 pairs of socks at full price last yr and my kindred gas been renewed.

dudsville · 03/02/2023 11:34

Apologies, my husband also bought the belt from within my account. But that's it, all low price items, the tees were £45

AmethystMoonShine · 03/02/2023 11:58

@neveradullmoment99 I buy mainly sale, in fact I think last year. I only bought two belts full price. Then the previous year just a sheepskin hotter bottle cover at full price. I have Kindred......that said I spend a bloody fortune most sales...so I strongly suspects it's a spend threshold or regularity of purchase that triggers it?

AmethystMoonShine · 03/02/2023 12:00

Anyone else like the silk blouse/shirt that's over £400, blue kind of tie dye effect? I saw it on someone on instagram and thought oooh now I like that...then went to look on the TOAST site and promptly fainted. Not sure that'd even be a sale purchase Sad
I'd never relax it it Grin

Yes, I fell in love with it. I think it’s absolutely beautiful but no, just no. I could never justify it.

Snowyowl78 · 03/02/2023 12:44

I’m also trying to lose weight and have loads of toast trousers. I think it will make no difference re. Tops and jackets and jumpers, I’m only trying to go down one size really. I’m trying to lose a stone.

I am hoping that re. Trousers because of the elasticated waists on most of them that they will just feel a bit looser rather than looking ridiculous and falling off. Dresses, I think will make no odds as all the dresses I have are loose fitting.

i have a pair of alixs that are really big and I still wear them and they look really good, just extremely comfortable.

MiracleToast · 03/02/2023 13:29

@neveradullmoment99 how do the forest boots fit, please? Did you get your regular size?

neveradullmoment99 · 03/02/2023 13:35

Well I am a 6.5 and got a 6. I have one bigger left foot than right. They feel fine. Maybe only very slightly neat at the toe but I think time will eventually stretch the leather. I think a 7 would have been huge. They are a wide-ish fit.

ToastCosILoveIt · 03/02/2023 13:45

@Snowyowl78 , that Maya dress is very like last year's slighltly darker version which I have and like but won't be buying the new version as it is too similar.

@AmethystMoonShine , I love that silk blouse but yes, too expensive and way out of the price range I am prepared to pay.

@neveradullmoment99 , I am fluctuating too (bloody menopause): all within about one stone. I am at the higher end now and find that the clothes still fit, with the exception perhaps of some of the trousers: I daren't try on the Annie side button jeans at the moment as they were always snug and I fear I wouldn't be able to do them up at the moment....

MiracleToast · 03/02/2023 13:46

That’s really useful to know @neveradullmoment99 i also have one foot larger than other and am usually a 5.5/6 so I’m thinking in this case a 5 would be best. Hoping to get a try on in store soon - if they last. Thank you
