Well my last hurrah order arrived.. sadly (or possibly good!) the broderie anglaise dress is just way too big and so is the olive green parka. So both both going back. I am quite sad about the parka as I had been loving it online. Too big on the shoulders and waaaay too big overall. The painted check dress is lovely and fits well. All so variable as they were all the usual size 6. Now on a no spend month 😆

faustina · 01/02/2023 20:03

@MiracleToast - that would be brilliant wouldn't it?

Gonegrey31 · 02/02/2023 08:08

I see from an email from Toast that they are holding a swapping event at most of their shops on 12 February - I think I will take couple of unworn silk dresses along and see what I might be able to exchange them for. I've never participated in the Circle events but assume this is the same?

ToastCosILoveIt · 02/02/2023 12:19

I have also had my Kindred renewed. I shop almost exclusively at Toast so would have been disappointed if it hadn't been renewed.

I too am doing no spend February. I bought the Wrap Front Indigo Twill Jumpsuit in January, my one piece from the new collection. I know i will wear it loads as the weather warms up.

Like others, I am not totally enamoured with the new collection but I do have my eye on the following in the fullness of time, some possibly in the sale:

Colour Block Organic Poplin Dress
Bryn Tie Neck Navigation Print Crepe Dress
Fracap Ankle Shoes in Ink (have the black ones already and love this retro, easy style)
Canvas Utility Workwear Trousers
Breton Stripe Cotton Tee (have a few bretons but loving the look of the cut of this)
Tie Neck Firth Check Dress
Kate Sheridan Waxed Canvas Tote (looks such a practical but beautiful bag)
Colour Block Organic Poplin Skirt
Loop Back Jersey Trousers in Ink (have the slate ones and love them)

dudsville · 02/02/2023 12:46

Now that all my purchases are finalised and returns sent back, I've totted up my spending. It's not the kind of amount I can or want to sustain, but i do have a lovely colection of things. I know my downfall will be any interesting stuff from the archives as opposed to the current new stock, so I have my fingers crossed that future me isn't overly challenged by the next sale!

I've kept the terracotta cord skirt. I'm wfh today and wanted to soften up the freshly washed skirt so I decided to go ahead and wear it. We all know they do great pockets, but these particularly feel built to withstand the worst one could imaginably do to pockets. I've paired it with the forest cord top, a combi that I would not yet be brave enough to wear out, but I think looks nice, or at least ok, I'm not sure... my mind might be warped by looking at it too much.

dudsville · 02/02/2023 12:47

Ps, I'm also tempted to wear it with an orange top - in the way that it's ok to wear all black, or all blue or grey... I think I might have lost my mind.

faustina · 02/02/2023 13:06

@ToastCosILoveIt - I have one of those Kate Sheridan totes and can totally recommend. They're amazingly light but strong as anything and they hang really nicely on one's shoulder. Mine's a beautiful ochre/mustardy colour - and If fact I like it so much I just ordered another in cobalt blue which is due to arrive today (half price in the sale). You can buy them on Kate Sheridan's own website too, and she has a choice of sizes, also I think there's a discount for your first order if you want to save a bit

Snowyowl78 · 02/02/2023 13:30

@ToastCosILoveIt i have a very similar list, I’m hoping some of it will go in the sale next month maybe. I want those Loopback trousers in ink and also the matching sweatshirt. I was looking at them today and the price of them at full price is too much for a casual outfit like that. Sadly they have never discounted the other colours of the sweatshirt, so I don’t hold out much hope for a discount. I was the blue AND the new brown one.
just to mention, I think the sizes of both the tops and bottoms have got smaller.

by the way, I was whinging a while back about having shrank my Turrel Check dress- I ironed it properly and turns out it’s fine! Thanks for all the advice I had on ironing it back to size :)

ToastCosILoveIt · 02/02/2023 13:42

@Snowyowl78 , I hadn't even noticed the loop back easy sweater: oh my, I will have to add this to my list too. I think the loop trousers with the matching top and the fracap ankle shoes paired with some toastie Toast socks would be so cosy.

@faustina , thank you for the tip, will look now!

Noodle421 · 02/02/2023 15:18

@faustina thanks for the Kate Sheridan tote bag tip - I’ve just bought the midi in an olive green, in the sale - just what I’ve been looking for !! The larger size looks quite big in the photos, presumably you don’t find this is a problem for you ?

faustina · 02/02/2023 15:25

@Noodle421 - my ochre bag which I've had for a year is the midi size and it's perfect. The cobalt one which arrived today is the giga size and it is huge! I'm going to try it with things in , and with the poppers to make it smaller. I would very much like to make ti work as the colour is glorious!

Noodle421 · 02/02/2023 15:38

@faustina I agree the cobalt is glorious but the size is putting me off slightly… I’d love it if it was a midi. I’ll give it some thought. Your ochre/mustard bag sounds gorgeous - and presumably one you can use across all seasons

faustina · 02/02/2023 15:49

Here's the comparison if it helps you @Noodle421 . I think because it's quite thin ( but v strong ) fabric, it looks less capacious than it really is

Noodle421 · 02/02/2023 16:06

@faustina ooooh , thank you. The comparison is helpful. Dilemma. I’m strongly tempted. Do you like it with the poppers done up

mizu · 02/02/2023 16:07

@Gonegrey31 yes, it is the Circle event but they've changed it. And no longer having stores that permanently have a rail of Circle clothing.

Not sure I'll partake this time - although I am very close to a TOAST shop so I probably won't be able to resist - as the last time I went, there was very little I liked. I still have 4 tokens though - hope they are still accepting those.

faustina · 02/02/2023 16:10

@Noodle421 - I really do! It looks a bit like this, only less structured when on. Fairly sure I'm keeping it now!

Noodle421 · 02/02/2023 16:15

I’ve just bought it !!
A lovely colour for summer. I’ve been looking for pops of colour to elevate some of my plain shirts. This is a large pop !!
Thanks for your help .

Noodle421 · 02/02/2023 16:17

@faustina i prefer it with the poppers done up. Previous message was meant for you too. In my excitement I forgot to tag you in 😆

faustina · 02/02/2023 16:25

@Noodle421 - it is a lovely pop of colour isn't it? I am wearing a lot of navy at the moment and it looks so nice with it

ToastCosILoveIt · 02/02/2023 16:29

Ooh Faustina, that is one very beautiful bag, veyr tempted but that will blow no spend Feb.....

Bideshi · 02/02/2023 16:34

@dudsville I hope you don't lose your nerve over the orange terracotta skirt. I still love mine and the fit and cut are just perfect. It's a matter of finding the right top half but I have various things in mind. Anyway, it brings me joy..

Noodle421 · 02/02/2023 16:44

@ToastCosILoveIt Half price on the KS website. Just sayin….😛

Stoic123 · 02/02/2023 19:47

Such bad influences on this thread. I am staying firm on no spend/dry Feb

(I was feeling very proud of myself there for a second......then realised it is only the 2nd).

Countmeout · 02/02/2023 19:49

Luckily February is a short month !
