Does anyone remember if the charcoal loop back trousers went into the sale?
I am wondering whether to buy the new blue ones or wait til they might go into sale. For some reason the matching sweatshirts never go into sale.

They did eventually, I think, but it wasn’t the first seasonal sale. I’ve had mine two years and I think this was their first time on sale, maybe because they were launching a new colourway. Every time I put them on I have a little tut about how much I paid for essentially trackie bottoms (and they were cheaper then and I got 10% off them as well, but it still shocks me!). Tbf though, they still look as if I’ve just taken them out of the bag. Have washed well, no bobbling, no fading. They do knee a bit if I sit for a long time but they also snap back. Im tempted by the blue except I’m trying hard not to buy anything new.

Snowyowl78 · 22/01/2023 19:09

@ilovecherries thanks! They are v expensive aren’t they. I paid full price for the charcoal ones too, I’ve worn them a lot! I think the blue ones could be more useful as the darker colour might make them a bit smarter but I don’t really want to pay £120 again! Maybe I’ll wait a bit…

Stoic123 · 22/01/2023 19:15

@Snowyowl78

I've checked my order history. I bought a Loop Back Rolled Neck Top in Charcoal in last June sale (£55 from £95), Loop Back trousers in Ecru in Nov Archive Sale (£65) and Loop Back Trousers in Charcoal in Dec sale (£85 from £125). Always goes fast in sales and few returns.

By chance, I'm wearing the top today. Really like the material - as @ilovecherries says, it washes really well.

Thesheerrelief · 22/01/2023 19:32

I've been eyeing up the pleated needlecord dress in green so interested to see the reviews here! I'm usually a 10 in Toast but pondering the 12 based on the website reviews.

I went down a size. It’s very roomy.

Thank you! It's sitting in my basket now

Snowyowl78 · 22/01/2023 20:26

@Stoic123 thanks for that! Here’s hoping they will be in the early spring sale along with the sweatshirts!

neveradullmoment99 · 22/01/2023 21:51

Agree. Definitely don't buy your normal size. Size down once.

Countmeout · 23/01/2023 10:40

Morning everyone.
My sale Alix woollen trousers arrived very promptly . Had a quick try on, they are great, just wondering if anyone else has these and went down more than 1 size. I’m currently not as light as I have been and slightly concerned they’ll prove too big if I manage to lose a few pounds. They’re very high waisted if you want to avoid a droopy crotch. Lovely fit round the bum atm. Maybe I’ll just keep eating cake.

I think that's your best plan! BiscuitArchers

Countmeout · 23/01/2023 10:54

And have just thought of a plan B , could wash and shrink as they’re dry clean only !!!

lordloveadog · 23/01/2023 10:57

Count, I'm afraid cake is definitely your safest route

CureForLove · 23/01/2023 10:57

Nah. Stick with plan A...

Stoic123 · 23/01/2023 12:30

Broderie Anglais dress arrived and is perfect for planned use (funeral dress to replace one now on way to charity shop). Elegant and sombre. Hope I don't have to wear it soon.

Sale finally over for me. Must nearly be over for everyone else.

Stravaig · 23/01/2023 12:36

I think someone asked about the velvet pinafore?
I've just sent back a size 10.
17" across the button fastening, 18" high point strap to waist, 49" HPS to hem.
It's a 48 hour return, so Wed am if anyone's hoping it'll reappear in stock.
That said, I returned the velvet trousers last Wed, arrived Fri am, but no received in warehouse email yet. Maybe they don't do them any more?

Happy to have satisfied my oil velvet curiosity with no harm to the budget!

FiddleFigs · 23/01/2023 12:55

My most recent sale parcel arrived - these items were lower on the wishlist, but turned out to be solid hits!

The Organic Cotton Hemp Panel Trousers (sized down to 10 from my usual 12) are so good - lovely fabric and cut. Still feel a bit pricey even at sale though - not sure I'd pay full price even though I do love them.

The Emma Stripe Cotton Linen Tee (sized up to L from usual M) is perfect - lovely retro 80s vibes with the orange/yellow stripes. Will wear this shreds once the weather warms up!

ilovecherries · 23/01/2023 12:59

I’m shopping my personal toast archive today 🙄. Washed black gabis via eBay, checked ecru and charcoal cotton/cashmere top (the one with the massive puff sleeves) via Vinted and a bright pink longline alpaca cardi from Arket. Plus my absolute happiest buy of last year - sheepskin Birkenstock slips and Nordic socks.

Stravaig · 23/01/2023 13:07

@ilovecherries Sounds stylish and snuggly!

ToastCosILoveIt · 23/01/2023 13:15

@Stoic123 , yes, sale must surely be over for us now. I am returning the brown velvet skirt: not special enough for me and I already have some good Toast skirts, plus have bought Jigsaw and a Whistles bias cut satin skirts to try with big jumpers.

I am also sending back the men's patch pocket organic cotton shirt which I bought for my DH: bought the L initially which was too big so got the M which is perfect (the men's sizing is as hit and miss as the women's).

I prevaricated over the Pique bib front poplin dress but have decided to keep it as it is quite lovely.

@ilovecherries , you sound incredibly stylish and cosy.

Countmeout · 23/01/2023 13:36

Yes sale getting a bit stale now. It’s gone 9n longer than I expected.

@ilovecherries - you sound so cosy. Could I ask you about your sheepskin Birkenstocks? Did you take your usual Birkenstock size? I've read some reviews which say you need to go one bigger if they're sheepskin

Noodle421 · 23/01/2023 15:39

@faustina I bought the Arizona Birkenstock sheepskin slippers (open toes) in my usual size. Best slippers ever. I wear them with Japanese thick woven socks in winter, no socks in Spring. So comfortable. Wearing them for second year running. Sheepskin has worn down a little so will possibly buy another pair for next winter. I wear them daily, for hours at a time. May need to size up for closed toe version, especially if you have a high instep ?

Noodle421 · 23/01/2023 15:42

I have a high instep and found the bony bit on top of my foot rubbed uncomfortably against sheepskin Boston clog when tried on in my usual size. I’d probably try loosening the buckle and/or order a size up if I decided to buy a pair of this model.

faustina · 23/01/2023 16:31

Thanks @Noodle421 - it is the sheepskin lined clogs I'm thinking of. I have them unlined and love them, as well as various other Arizonas and another kind whose name escapes me. The sheepskin looks so tempting!

dudsville · 23/01/2023 17:10

I would like the sale to be over for me, but it is hard. I decided to try the chocolate fair isle yolk in a larger size than i tried previously, and I've got the cord pleat front trousers, in both colours, at £60 i should at least try them.
