I received the copper linen balloon trousers today, they were so creased that I think they have been scudding around on a Toast floor somewhere, nearly put them straight back in the bag, but ironed them and they are actually very nice.. quite voluminous though in the S but I think ok.. Anyway unless an XS appears and I can reorder, I will keep them ...
The smaller Flotsam dress arrived on Saturday and that's staying also. Its still big in the M but withfiddling the drawstrings I can make it look pretty good. I am actually going to stitch the back and neck drawstrings in place so they are nicely gathered and the front looser. Its still plenty big enough to get on even then over my head ( and more!)

I think that they will most likely pull the sale tomorrow ..

Highonpower · 23/01/2023 18:27

Hello Toasties - I've just bought the Mariner Hemp cotton trousers, very flattering - so much nicer on than the Denim version - but annoyingly more expensive - I love them too much to part with them.

faustina · 23/01/2023 14:52

@ilovecherries - you sound so cosy. Could I ask you about your sheepskin Birkenstocks? Did you take your usual Birkenstock size? I've read some reviews which say you need to go one bigger if they're sheepskin

I have the sheepskin Boston clogs and I usually wear narrow fit but needed the broader fit.

I took my usual birkie size, and I wasn’t sure initially but I’m glad now. Once the sheepskin settled they def become much roomier. My feet are a pretty normal width I’d say.

faustina · 23/01/2023 19:35

Thanks all for the birkie fit help. Will consider - mind you, since typing my question I managed to drop a treadmill on one foot so I don't think I'll be trying on any footwear anytime soon

Still waiting for the navy top to arrive. Everything I've kept from the sale (all three things if I keep the shirt) are for much warmer weather so I have them to look forward to, but nothing I can wear right now. Hope it gets less cold soon!

AFingerofFudge · 24/01/2023 09:05

After having not looked at the sale for days, I've gone for a "last hurrah" and ordered the tie neck embroidered poplin
shirt, the cotton linen jersey smock in carbon and the diamond block cotton trousers. Maybe there'll be a surprise hit among them??

AFingerofFudge · 24/01/2023 09:09

Wouldn't it be great if they had the "pay in 30 days" Klarna option? I'd be happy order many items if I knew I could return them before paying!!

Blossomtoes · 24/01/2023 09:11

I use PayPal pay in three for my Toast purchases because they’re so slow with their refunds.

Laska2Meryls · 24/01/2023 09:16

I really don't think that they are slow refunding now, I posted three things back on Friday (RM) and they were refunded yesterday afternoon.. Maybe I have just been lucky ..

SmaugMum · 24/01/2023 10:33

Well, these are words I never thought I would write but I am really keen on a BROWN jumper; the Fair Isle Yoke. I initially bought the blue jumper in a medium but it was too small (I’m a high street 10) and I couldn’t reorder as it had sold out, hence the brown in a large as a consolation prize. I barely took the sweater off during that cold snap last week and it kept me warm and cosy. Happily, a blue large knit since became available and is being delivered tomorrow. Absolute bargains as they were reduced from £195 to £75 each.

I had a premium bonds windfall in January (and I’m having a tough time at home - teenager related) so I have had a last hurrah and ordered the high neck parka in olive. I’m intrigued to see if the coat is worth its original and hefty price tag of £495.

With regards to the Birkenstock discussion, I have the shearling clogs in black and two pairs of the two-bar shearling sandals and I have all three pairs in my normal shoe size. I ordered mine on Amazon through a retailer called Tower London and they quite often discount them heavily so it’s worth a look. If you can hold off and buy them out of season, they’re often cheap as chips.

Stoic123 · 24/01/2023 10:59

I'm finding refunds quick processed quickly too - parcels to post office late Weds afternoon, tracked as delivered Friday afternoon and refunds were processed yesterday.

Having said I was done with the sale, I bought the Tam yesterday as I think a friend will love it (so gift).

dudsville · 24/01/2023 11:07

The sapphire heathery wool jumper arrived. I love the orange version and find it easy to make into outfits. I thought the blue one would be even easier to wear, but I can't seem to make it work. Also, although it is a nice jumper it doesn't hit the same spot as the orange one. I can't tell whether I'd regret sending it back as I'm just comparing it to its orange coutner part or whether it just doesn't work. It's a good colour on me and fits well. Is it just my inability to work out what to wear it with it? If anyone else has I'd love to hear what you're pairing it with. In my mind it would be easiest to wear with just a pair of more fitted blue jeans, but I don't wear fitted denim. I also think it might look nice with my black and ecru dogtooth wool cotton pleated toast trousers - but that also seems like a very loud outfit to me. Any ideas?

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 24/01/2023 11:20

I’ve been refunded really quickly on my returns since Christmas. I’m using RM for returns, I don’t know if Inpost is taking longer.

dudsville · 24/01/2023 11:53

The diamond block trousers are £35 now if anyone is interested.

dudsville · 24/01/2023 11:55

@SmaugMum , how fun to have a windfall to play with!!!

Thank you so much. A pair is now winging its way to me.

Karate jacket @Countmeout !Wink

I was more thinking strait jacket and padded cells!

Countmeout · 24/01/2023 13:35

Now you mention it @SmaugMum i think you might be right.
yes @Laska2Meryls a bit disappointed it’s an actual jacket. I thought it might be a top. It’d probably be too stiff and I can’t think of when I could wear it - apart from judo , karate and in my padded cell .

I’m done with the sale now
spent just over £700, although £600 of that was my Christmas gift vouchers
ive bought a lot
5 dresses, 1 pinafore, cloth gift wraps, plimsolls and even a Nicola Gillis mug

its My birthday this weekend and I know I have more Toast gift cards to come (my favourite know I’m easy to buy for)
I’ll wait a while..until the next sale

MiracleToast · 24/01/2023 16:51

I LOVE it @Countmeout

ilovecherries · 24/01/2023 17:10

I bought the diamond block trousers in the autumn sale and they are lovely. I fear they could tip into PJ territory if worn at home but I’m hoping they will be ideal for holidays later this year - and if not, then they are a lovely pair of PJ bottoms!

Snowyowl78 · 24/01/2023 18:34

I also have the diamond block trousers in an ‘undecided’ bag. They are really really thin cotton, but could be just the ticket for a heatwave or a holiday.

@SmaugMum im interested to hear about the parka when it arrives! I wavered on it for a while.

i got a parcel today and everything is going back. The fawn trousers, a good 7/8 inches too long I couldn’t get a sense of what they were meant to be like but they were generally massive.
the ribbed pecan jumper- got a large and it was so clingy, did me no favours.
The sapphire jumper, I quite liked this but I prefer the round cashmeres in blue and ink so I’d probably never choose it to wear.

the needlecord slate shirt, fitted well but I can’t imagine where/when I would wear it- if anyone has it I’m interested to hear how you style it.

I also tried the new Loopback dark blue trousers, I think the sizing has definitely changed on these. I have the medium in the charcoal and they are smaller. I’m going to send them back and wait for them in the sale and hopefully have them for spring/summer.
