Anyone planning a 2023 glow-up?

Just wondering if anyone is planning a transformation? I am, although in many ways I've been trying for months now!
I'm planning on lifting weights, I'd like really strong arms (or I'd settle for slightly strong arms as I'm basically a kitten in terms of upper body strength). I also want to drop some of my own weight and sort out my curly hair!

I'm planning on being less of a fat wanker, drinking more water and less gin, sorting out my skincare and maybe hair colour.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/12/2022 22:11

Me! I’m doing a January whole30 and will have 16 weeks to train for London marathon so I’m intending to just have a ridiculously healthy focussed few months.
I’m also planning a career change and am job hunting so I hope to find something new soon.
And as always, just being better at taking care of myself, losing weight, dying my hair before I have an inch of grey roots, and looking after my skin.

Twilightstarbright · 24/12/2022 22:13

Yes!! Starting with booking an eyebrow threading as soon as DS is back at school.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 24/12/2022 22:29

Very interested.

Tons of makeup I never wear, need to do more self care in general

grayhairdontcare · 24/12/2022 22:41

I am. I've got a fabulous holiday planned next year and intend to look my best for it.
So I've 9 months prep from January

SparklySparky · 24/12/2022 22:59

Me! Need to lose a stone and restart body pump. I think it’s time for some tweakments too….interested in lumecca IPL for some pigmentation issues and tempted to get a bit of coolsculpting under my chin.

amigababy · 24/12/2022 23:07

I'm joining the next low carb boot camp. I've got 20 pounds to lose and a whole raft of clothes that currently don't fit, it'll be like having a whole new wardrobe.

Also, I've got some new makeup to collect from M&S, i don't usually wear makeup. And I'm trying to wear jewellery, which has sat around in drawers for years.

Beingadiv · 24/12/2022 23:11

Yep! I've got 2 stone to lose. It'll come off, my weight fluctuates with meds but I get it off in the end. Need to get my arse in gear with MFP, weights and dance workouts to tone up too.

Also want to drink less for a bit and maybe find a good treatment for skin texture, if anyone knows any. It's not too bad but I've been a picker over the years and would like to smooth it out a bit. I've been using retinol which is good.

amigababy · 24/12/2022 23:17

Ooh, and talking to the hairdresser about tanninoplasty, my hair is pretty frizzed and uncontrollable usually.

fallfallfall · 25/12/2022 00:54

planning on skin care for 2023, i want to get my sun spots sorted.
i've slowly started. ordered some products.
hair and nails under control.
weight always an ongoing challenge but am on a lovely thread for that :)

declutteringmymind · 25/12/2022 00:56

Me me me please. Have lost a few pound here and there but starting proper after a ski trip. Need to get off my sorry arse!

PositivePenny · 25/12/2022 01:26

Me! I want to:
start some type of exercise (more for energy that losing weight etc but if that’s a side effect it would be a nice bonus!)
sort skincare out
update my overall look - hair, make up and clothes

I’ve recently subscribed to skin & me after reading threads on here but haven’t received my 1st lot yet.
book a hair cut in January
have culled lots of clothes and make up so am at the basics now so I’d like to find things that update me a little.

Ha ha! Me too (except I rarely drink alcohol). My hair is ok for now - well that on my head but i need to sort out my moustache and beard. The beard is white so cannot go down the laser route. Sigh!

Deathraystare · 25/12/2022 10:16

@fallfallfall

Can I ask which helpful thread you are on? Is it on mumsnet????

redambergreen70 · 25/12/2022 10:20

I am!
I plan to finally lose the weight I’ve gained since having my DC and being on antidepressants. I’ll also be going back to the gym to weight train mainly as I have enjoyed that previously.
Skincare and make up is ok but I really need to decide what ti do with my hair!

whosaidtha · 25/12/2022 10:26

Me! I've lost 40lbs since may. 20more to go and I've put aside all my birthday/Xmas money and saved a bit more to revamp my wardrobe when I'm at goal. Plus keeping up the exercise which has given me way more energy and a positive mind set!
Got a new journal for Xmas so going to spend bits of today doodling and planning

lbnblbnb · 25/12/2022 10:47

Yes, time to not put myself at the bottom of the list.

superplumb · 25/12/2022 10:55

Yep me. I pick up my invisalign on the 16th Jan. I'll start my diet early Jan too. I plan to use up lots of my nice skin care and make up stuff to try to stop spending so much. I'm also getting electrolysis for my lovely hormonal beard. By summer I want to look totally diff. Hopefully I'd have saved enough cash for hair extensions too

GoT1904 · 25/12/2022 11:10

Meeeee!!! Gonna fire this giant baby out in February and then want to really work on looking after myself more food wise. Hair and makeup again.

Detectorists · 25/12/2022 11:14

I've lost 35lb this year so I'd like to lose the last 14lb to get to goal weight. My hair has been thinning so I'd like to sort that with vitamins and decent products. Stay on top of eyebrows. Regular massages.

Gufo · 25/12/2022 11:33

I lost 20lbs this year and want to lose another half stone. Not starting that today though! Want to continue with IF and regular exercise classes.

Going to get my hair dyed and sort eyebrows and nails routine ahead of starting a new job in march.

I also want to see if I can stretch the budget for a couple of massages and book in a podiatrist ahead of my annual sandal shocker!

YouWithoutEnd · 25/12/2022 12:05

Well I’ve been glowing up for the last few years having lost 97.2kg. I’m having a breast lift and brachioplasty at the end of Jan.

Also lift heavy weights with a personal trainer x2 a week to build muscle and get stronger and another two days a week solo. Hopefully i’ll start to see the fruits of my labour in 2023.

the monthly threads have been running for four years!
lovely easygoing inclusive bunch, very supportive.

Motorcycleemptyness · 25/12/2022 21:38

Me! New year new me!

im going to drink more water and wear more make up. I am sick of looking tired and shit every single day.

Boppertini · 25/12/2022 21:55

I’m in! I need to sort my diet (increase veg, fruit, berries, etc - reduce chocolate, wine, fat carbs) and ditch dairy as my skin breaks out if I even dare to look at a yoghurt or a piece of chocolate… More water, more exercise, maybe even lift some heavy weights as suggested by PP. Starting officially Jan 1st but slowly weaning myself off the Christmas sugar high starting tomorrow.
