Anyone planning a 2023 glow-up?

Just wondering if anyone is planning a transformation? I am, although in many ways I've been trying for months now!
I'm planning on lifting weights, I'd like really strong arms (or I'd settle for slightly strong arms as I'm basically a kitten in terms of upper body strength). I also want to drop some of my own weight and sort out my curly hair!

I started electrolysis last year and had minor cosmetic surgery to remove moles from my face. I now use SPF and vitamin C serum daily. I’m booked in for teeth whitening and I’m back to resistance training January, and losing 2 stone by summer.
Having just divorced I’m looking forward to moving into my new home and embracing a happier future.

Not been to the gym for the whole of December - too busy at work, then illness followed by a horrible heavy period then Christmas took over.
Start back tomorrow.
Growing out my highlights and back to my natural colour- just going to have it toned occasionally. Sick of the maintenance.
Also regular trims as my hair stays in much better condition.
Teeth whitening and I have just bought a water flosser.
Proper skin care everyday.
Touch of make up daily.
Carry on buying less but better clothes wise.

I've only been once @Zipps as been on two antibiotics this month. That changes soon though!

I am. I've had a really shitty few years and now I'm really buying in to the ✨new year, new me✨ nonsense that I would never normally abide by.

I'm going to make a structured weight lifting schedule as right now I'm unfocused and all over the place and concentrate on eating whole foods while limiting ultra-processed foods (M&S custard choux buns are my guilty pleasure and I will absolutely not be giving those up).

I'm going to finally sort out my ugly teeth and stick to a consistent hygiene and dentist schedule. Dentist treatment booked in for this year for (lots of) fillings after really poor care and I wear a partial denture which thankfully makes me smile bearable. I can't afford implants so I'm going to stick to a whitening strip schedule to help as much as possible alongside good hygiene and cleaning.

I'm going to commit to my skincare routine too. It's pretty good now and my skin isn't awful but I definitely don't exfoliate as much as I should and I'm stupidly still not using SPF daily so I've already started that.

It's such a long list to type out but really I'm just making small simple changes to put into action the systems I need for consistency.

Also I might get a professional trim. I've not let a professional touch my hair since a disastrous time in 2018 and I could really do with one of those lovely massages they give during the conditioner stage Grin

Joining! I am going to from tomorrow:

reduce sugar and UPF intake
increase protein, fruit & veg
drink more! Always slightly dehydrated

and a slower one - take steps to get my self discipline back after back to back pregnancies interspersed with lockdowns. My first step is getting weekly help from a PT and some coaching, I know I won’t do it unless I have people to work through it with.

I have ordered Atomic Habits from Amazon to help with tackling all this 😁

declutteringmymind · 29/12/2022 19:52

I've lost a few pounds overChristmas!!

I've also paid for the sensa app to help me focus on tasks

Will be activating my Apple fitness subscription that came with my watch too.

startingoveragainagain · 30/12/2022 14:21

Remembered to take my vitamins today 👏

HimiJendrix · 30/12/2022 14:49

Yes I'm starting on Sunday.

I'm going to lose weight, I've got around 3 stone to lose, I will face the scales on Sunday.

I'm going to take vitamins every day, I have loads unopened in the kitchen.

I'm going to get back into skin care for the face and body.

I'm going to get back into painting my nails and sorting my brows out.

I have basically given up on everything. I have loads of unopened beauty products so I don't even need to spend any money. Also going to use perfume of which I have lots but never use.

A whole new me awaits 😂

amigababy · 31/12/2022 18:04

Makeup collected from Marks yesterday, tanninoplasty booked at the hairdresser for the end of January.
And my single NYR (I usually make loads) is to complete 20 parkruns in 2023. As I've not done parkrun, or any running, for about 5 years, it could be interesting 🤔. But I have new trainers and want to use them...

startingoveragainagain · 01/01/2023 18:48

Vitamins taken
Double cleansed
Nice walk
👏👏👏

RamonaBadwolf · 01/01/2023 21:04

Ooh yes please, weave your magic on me 2023!! Just moisturised my whole body and it reminded me to do that regularly as I love that juicy skin feeling! Started my skin&me, did some vitamin research before Christmas and took my first batch today (multi + b complex and magnesium). I have a few stone to drop and for the first time I’m feeling good about tackling it. And definitely more water too

Merlo · 02/01/2023 01:14

Me! Currently too scared to step on the scales and totally overwhelmed with where to start. I need a complete overhaul in most areas of my life. It’s actually lovely to have a bit of inspiration from others!

caffelattetogo · 02/01/2023 09:37

Yes. A big stack of weight to lose, and need to tone up and start using all the products I have hoarded. Surprisingly, they aren't doing me much good sitting on my dressing table!

KatieBenz · 02/01/2023 10:12

Can I join? Last year was truly awful and I definitely need (deserve?) a glow up.
I want to change so many things, but I’m starting with dry January and 5:2 this month. More things to add in the coming months…..

startingoveragainagain · 02/01/2023 17:29

Vitamins taken, Nice walk, went for a run and shaved bottom half of my legs!

👏👏👏👏

Feeling like tomorrow will be harder as i'm back to work.

I need to lose 8kg, I think a kg a month should be achievable :/

The first step is cutting out Barista Oat milk in my 100 cups of coffee per day!

amigababy · 02/01/2023 18:40

I did my first parkrun in 8 years yesterday. It poured down and I am very slow - half jog, half walk. But it's done. My aim is to do 20, so only 19 to go 😊 (I'm not a runner at all)

And I wore makeup today. I'm making a few videos at the moment and admit I look much better in them with makeup on.
Took some vitamins and probiotics.

@startingoveragainagain you've reminded me I need to do my legs too. A job for tomorrow....

MissMogwai · 02/01/2023 19:07

Count me in. I need to sort myself out big time, I look worn out and like I've given up. I made a big effort for my Xmas do, I looked great if I do say so myself 🤣 and people didn't recognise me!

I've changed some medication and lost 9lb in the last month which has been a real boost. But still need to lose 1.5stone to get back to pre-Covid weight.

Sleep is a big problem for me at the mo, which is making me look exhausted and drained. I've downloaded the Calm app and trying some herbal remedies, as prescribed stuff isn't working anymore.

Skin is good apart from the eye bags. I got some lovely skin stuff for Christmas including Estée Lauder Repair serum. High hopes for this.

Getting my hair cut next week. This should make a big difference as I've not had it cut for 12 months. Just keep shoving it in a claw clip.

Basically I need to get my shit together.

70sShmeventies · 02/01/2023 19:11

YES. Two small children have meant I have really neglected myself. I’m committing to one regular form of exercise and am also joining slimming world because I’m addicted to biscuits and have forgotten how to eat healthily.

I’m also doing skin&me but so far it’s not helping much so am considering going back to old basic skincare and instead getting some regular beauty treatments (lvl, eyebrows etc) to look a bit more put together.

Stardustkid · 02/01/2023 19:14

Started with led mask and back to proper skincare gonna really try this year, last year started well, but lost my way

Imobsessedwithsuccesion · 02/01/2023 20:58

Did my first shuffly run of the year (it was icy) I'm doing Move Every Day January and sitting meal planning tonight.

I'm dedicating Wednesday evenings to doing toenails and defuzzing. If I'm out, fine but otherwise will spend half an hour on it.

I'm also committing to one Sunday a month for batch cooking. I love this when I do it but get in a rut often with the same old food.

Massive bag ready for the charity shop and getting the diary sorted for next year. I'm self employed so have a lot of freedom but I socialise a lot and the boost blues/crap sleep after drinking help neither my mood nor my desire to eat well! It's hard cos I love it though!
On the probios and multivitamins too.

Mistakepregnancy · 02/01/2023 21:49

I’d love to join! Feeling so ugh. But I’m 7 months pregnant with my first child (and just polished off one of the extra large family dairy milks) so I’m possibly deluded. But I’m hoping to lose weight post birth, get Botox and exercise / tone up. And get some nice summer clothes.

will do haircut and dentist pre baby!

BetterThisYear · 02/01/2023 22:33

Ooh I need this too. My biggest issue is self-sabotage but this year I am telling myself that I deserve to look and (more importantly) feel good.

LucyCarlyleLockwood · 04/01/2023 00:17

I didn't think I needed a glow up until I caught sight of myself earlier and thought "oh well, don't worry, you'll look better with a bit of make up on"... except I was already wearing it Confused

I'm 46, have two small DC and 3 stone to lose - and a mountain to climb to look ok again, apparently!

SparkleFromWithin · 04/01/2023 02:05

Meeee!

I want/need to:

Lose 10 pounds
Improve skincare
Indulge in more beauty treatments
Get Nails/ toenails done regularly
Start a hair oiling routine

And work on my wardrobe once I've lost the 10 pounds!

InsomniacVampire · 04/01/2023 06:29

Less junk, lose 10kg, workout more (I was very good for most of last year but slipped), and do stuff that interest me more!
