My other sale parcels finally arrived.

In total, keeping 1 nightie (cluster print, beautiful), 1 pjs (ditto, slightly karate cut but fabric so lovely), 4 pairs trousers and that nice half sleeve top in conker. Also some sheets.

There were lots of nearly right trousers, but only 4 were just right and really at Toast prices they do have to sing.

For other large and curvy Toasties, the successful trousers were:

Diamond Stripe Cotton Trousers
Garment Dyed Linen Balloon Trousers
Cotton Wool Twill Balloon Trousers
Wool Cotton Herringbone Wide Leg Trousers

Very excited about wearing all of these.

Countmeout · 09/01/2023 17:07

A few returns seem to have been added for anyone interested.

Just decided I would order the Draped utility dress in green as well and saw the terracotta Gabis were back. Also decided I would try the Workwear shirt in olive. Now I've seen the Embroidered kaftan dress is back in stock - credit card dilemma!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 09/01/2023 18:02

Just succumbed and ordered the Kaftan dress - definitely done now.

lordloveadog · 09/01/2023 18:14

A few things I have and really like wearing are still in the sale. I commend to your attention:

Ribbed Stripe Alpaca Sweater (like a soft cloud of slightly 70s love)

Alder Check Organic Seersucker Dress (v nice light summer)

Heathery wool sweater (lovely pistachio colour)

Crinkled cotton gingham dress (very good quality, nice extra touches)

Felix denim trousers (relatively neat fit on waist)

Embroidered cotton kaftan (utterly wonderful)

Cotton twill side button trousers (beware on the very large side even for Toast)

Hmm, that's quite a lot of things. But acquired over several seasons and sales. When I tried on my purchases earlier my preteen asked if I was ever going to buy anything from another shop any more. But then we went through the parcel from Boden sale and realised that the answer is probably no, it's just Toast now.

lordloveadog · 09/01/2023 18:16

Teapot, you did right there! You've got to try it. If not perfect, can send back. But I love mine much more than a garment should be loved.

MsCFlower · 09/01/2023 18:29

OK, so have caved and ordered more items but this is absolutey the last I am ordering for a number of months. So far I have only kept the green tie neck dress (which I love) and some merino socks but have added the skinny scarf in hickory, the Alix trousers in blue/grey , the wide leg cotton trousers in fawn, the Turrell dress and the poplin patch pocket shirt in pistachio. I am also awaiting some Esska low platform sandals from Oliver Bonas. Have also bought a fantastic Lurdes Bergada military style coat from Jules B. Finito. Spent out. It is such good fun though.

CureForLove · 09/01/2023 19:26

Was in a Toast shop today, returning unsuccessful sale buys. Lovely assistant told me new things arriving from Thursday this week! Stand by for more temptation....Grin

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 09/01/2023 19:44

@CureForLove oh no, I shall have to hide my credit card.

Stoic123 · 09/01/2023 19:49

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - definitely worth trying the kaftan. It was my favourite puchase of 2022 (a very late entrant).

dudsville · 09/01/2023 21:22

Whoa, lots to catch up on!

@MiracleToast , does that gown have the kimono sleeves with the underarm cut out or straight sleeves with no underarm hole?

@Countmeout I also have some toast orangey trousers and once I got used to them they actually seem a really flexible colour to me. I don't wear much black, but grey, blue, prints with multi colours like a graphic tea all work wear (to my eye!), also the cream and the dark grey longer toast cardigans can make a graphic tea choice look a little more grown up.

@stoic, that jacket really is a thing of utter beauty!

Your post made me laugh @lordloveadog, there really is no comparison between Toast and Boden, and by the sounds of it quite a few of us have toast wardrobes! and you have some great purchase there!

I bought the stack check dress. I know I like the fabric but was put off by the sleeves and neckline, for £50 that's easily worth my time at the sewing machine. I don't see it as a dress though, more of a housedress or pj dress. And I'm definitely considering those scarves @faustina .

MiracleToast · 09/01/2023 21:32

@dudsville i can’t quite remember however possibly. I will let you know for certain as soon as it arrives. Here is a bad changing room close up.

dudsville · 09/01/2023 22:06

That print is really lovely! Every toast gown that I've tred has had such large sleeves, except for the soft double cotton gown that had such wrinkly fabric. It seems gowns might be the one thing toast can't make for me, but haven't given up.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/01/2023 22:27

Ive ordered the landscape check dress! So glad that I managed to get it.

Stoic123 · 09/01/2023 22:32

@neveradullmoment99 - that dress is gorgeous (fantastic fabric). I only didn't buy it at full price because the shade/colour didn't quite suit me.

Hope you love it.

AFingerofFudge · 09/01/2023 22:45

Just checked my return at the InPost locker that I put in there on the 23rd December- it's still there along with the one from 30th December 🤦🏻‍♀️

MiracleToast · 09/01/2023 23:25

@dudsville the sleeves are definitely large but this robe will be for wafting for me so hopefully that’ll add to the endeavour.

On another note, has anyone ever won the competition when leaving feedback?

Thank you. I am so looking forward to getting it. This shape of dress is really me and suits my pear shape. The style is actually quite hard to find in other shops.
Toast is like that. Very had to find most of the styles anywhere.
Was kind of tempted by the velvet pinafore. Such a superb price now but tbh, no idea where i would wear it. Its too posh to wear to work and I would be afraid of staining it or getting some stuff on it [ I teach].

I don't really do much going out and not the best just for hanging around the house. Also velvet can stain easily with even water [ I have a Toast silk velvet dress from years ago] I also cant be bothered with dry clean only. I really don't understand why Toast persists with dry clean only. It is totally environmentally unfriendly.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/01/2023 23:28

I also think the heavy pleating is in the wrong place for me. Where I am at my widest. So I don't think it would suit my shape.
Does anyone have it actually? Just curious on their take of it.

How extremely frustrating! Ive three returns but only posted them on Friday pm so not thinking they will be refunded just yet.

I was wondering this. Is it even published? I posted a review of the blue indigo trapeze dress. Its still not been published on the site and I was rather hoping because they were no reviews on it, I might be in with a chance!!!!

neveradullmoment99 · 09/01/2023 23:32

No such luck. Ive actually posted reviews numerous times and never won it. They do have to publish it somewhere I assume legally?

MiracleToast · 09/01/2023 23:38

Interesting. I write a review for everything I purchase, which lets be honest, is a lot! I’ve resorted to writing poems dedicated to Toast now. Hopefully one day a winner I will be.

Nosejobent · 10/01/2023 08:26

Has anyone bought the Wool Cashmere Round Sweater? I’m a 12-14 in the Normal world, tend to be 12 or 10 in toast and wondered how small/big this comes up?

neveradullmoment99 · 10/01/2023 10:57

Ah blast, they have refunded me the check landscape dress :(
I guess it is not to be and out of stock.
Oh well...Dissapointed.
