It was me that used dye in a washer dryer with sad results. Apparently (according to Bosch) the dye gets into the condenser unit and then you can get blow back. The washer part was fine, and I did several washes after with no problem, but the first time I used the dryer my sheets came out with splotches of black dye all over them. This could easily have been a week to 10 days after I’d used the dye and I had gone multiple wash cycles in between with no issue.

PrincessofWellies · 04/01/2023 21:10

Is everyone aware of the Toast outlet shops? Prices are much reduced.

FiddleFigs · 04/01/2023 21:14

Evening, Toasties. Has anyone bought or tried the Blouson Sleeve Check Cotton Shirt? I’m very tempted, but not sure on sizing. I really like the style in needlecord, but think the cotton check would work all year round.

lordloveadog · 04/01/2023 21:17

Figs, I tried it in a shop when I was in UK a few weeks ago. It was beautiful but made me look like Henry VIII. If the style suits you, should be great. It was lovely on the more petite shop assistant.

lordloveadog · 04/01/2023 21:19

Oh, what you actually asked about was sizing, of course. I usually take a toast 18 or xl and iirc it fitted nicely, it was just very wrong on swimmer shoulders and prominent chest. So my best guess is your usual size. It wasn't one of their crazy enormous tent cuts.

That’s really helpful, thank you!

Thank you for all the helpful info/advice regarding washing machines, trouser dye and drum cleaning hacks. @Laska2Meryls you are a wizard with colour mix !! I will let you know how I get on if I decide to go ahead. Still a bit nervous about stain residue in drum ( thankfully I don’t have the washer dryer issue). Wishing everyone luck with their Toast sale purchases. I’m still waiting for my indigo twill easy shirt..

Zeusrules · 05/01/2023 10:19

Just in case anyone else is waiting I've had a despatch note for the the first of my 29th December orders. Just waiting for the other and then hopefully all my denim dresses are on their way. I think I have until the 12th to return a previous sale purchase so hoping I can try them all and then make a decision.

dudsville · 05/01/2023 10:46

@FiddleFigs I love the fabric and the sleeves of that top but haven't tried it. I am tempted by it as I struggle to pass up any check and one comment on the site says that irl life it's more black from a distance, so perhaps more muted than it seems on line. @lordloveadog , did you think this when you saw it?

lordloveadog · 05/01/2023 10:48

I certainly didn't think it bright or garish. Not plain, but not statement colours. If style had suited me, would have found it a useful shirt.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/01/2023 11:14

I’ve had a despatch note for the first of my 30th December orders (which includes my napkins!) so looks like they’re catching up now.

neveradullmoment99 · 05/01/2023 12:06

My barrel leg dungarees came today. They are nice but the bib part is a bit small. I do like them. Actually I am wearing them!

PrincessofWellies · 05/01/2023 13:07

@neveradullmoment99 they're lovely aren't they. Very flattering with a bit of attitude. I haven't worn mine yet but planning for them to have an outing tomorrow . . .

MiracleToast · 05/01/2023 13:25

My mineral blue ticking stipe sheet and pillow cases arrived! I am so thrilled with them, they’re gorgeous. Did anyone else get these? I was trying to decide between rose and mineral blue and am quite pleased with the decision.

Laska2Meryls · 05/01/2023 13:30

Ogee trousers arrived and straight back in the packet .. sadly not for me . (I am not actually sure why I ordered them as I really dont like brown and lilac and certainly not together ! - probably after too much Christmas wine ) I have also looked properly in my wardrobe and realised that the stack check trousers are pretty much like the space dye balloon trousers I already have ( but not as nice fabric imo ) so they have gone back also ..

So I am now feeling proper saintly despite the fact that I have bought 4 tees and the Tretorn boots in this sale..

MiracleToast · 05/01/2023 13:33

Saintly feeling is good before potential reductions !

Also, re the ticking linen; the packaging states wash on 60 but don’t tumble? Does anyone tumble them okay?

mizu · 05/01/2023 13:36

Miracletoast I've got the pink ticking stripe which I love - is the mineral blue sort of green?

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/01/2023 13:38

@MiracleToast Yes! I bought the mineral blue, I was hoping the graphite duvet would be in the sale but as it wasn’t I bought the blue instead. It’s a lovely colour, I can see green in it but I’m really pleased with it.
I don’t have a tumble drier but I’m sure somebody has already said they do tumble dry them, hopefully they’ll come back and answer.

MiracleToast · 05/01/2023 13:44

Yes the mineral blue is like a pale tealy green to my eye. Really, really nice. And the pillow cases (Oxford) are massive! About twice the size of my usual cases. Now I’m imagining large pillows!

Thanks I will hold off attempting any tumbling until I hear from someone who knows best!

You described them exactly!

AFingerofFudge · 05/01/2023 13:53

@MiracleToast yes it was me that has also recently bought the duvet set and was asking about tumble drying. I've forgotten (sorry) who replied to say that yes they were fine in a tumble drier.

MiracleToast · 05/01/2023 13:56

Finger of fudge - have you tumbled yet? Thanks for replying 🤍

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/01/2023 13:57

@AFingerofFudge I think it was @faustina who answered you regarding tumble drying.

faustina · 05/01/2023 14:04

hello - yes I tumble dry all my bedlinen when I can't put it on the line. It's almost all Toast and it's always fine. I tumble dried the graphite sheet the other day which I bought in the sale and there is no difference in size or anything

MiracleToast · 05/01/2023 14:40

Thank you Faustina, this is fantastic reassuring news
