@Noodle421 I think @Laska2Meryls is the resident dyeing queen but I have dyed things in the past (not Ashley jeans) with success. I used dylon, the one that goes in the machine.

AFingerofFudge · 02/01/2023 11:57

@Snowyowl78 I also posted some things back using InPost on the 23rd December and they still haven't been collected. The InPost boxes are full so I can't post back my other things either!

Snowyowl78 · 02/01/2023 12:00

@AFingerofFudge it’s annoying isn’t it. My first lot of Inpost returns went back really quickly. I guess it’s the festive period. I might just generate the returns labels and see if Toast give me a bit of grace.

TheChattyRat · 02/01/2023 12:00

I used in post for my recent returns - regretting it now!

Thanks. The Ashley’s do look good a little faded but I have two black faded to grey pairs already but again in too good a condition to throw away. I always like to have a proper black pair for a smarter look.

SmaugMum · 02/01/2023 12:06

@Snowyowl78 , I find that the viscose fabric dresses do look significantly smaller when they emerge from a wash (I have a couple of Mila frocks in this fabric). I hang up on a hanger in my bathroom and allow them to dry without any heat. They always seem to regain their shape. If your dress has shrunk, then I would recommend hand washing it in very cool water in only a liberal quantity of hair conditioner and gently teasing at the width and then the length once the fabric is wet. Good luck!

I haven't had any problems with Toast processing late returns. If I'm outside the returns period, the website won't let me print a parcel form. But provided I've got a form, it hasn't mattered if late. And once I stuck a late item in a parcel with other on-time returns and got refunded.

lordloveadog · 02/01/2023 12:12

Also, I've finally (and possibly unwisely) got mn working on my phone so can say happy new year everyone, happy birthday to those I missed, and thank you for the awesome sale posts!

I've ordered various things to try, especially trousers. But am still away for the holidays so can't report yet. And only one parcel has arrived so far anyway.

Someone asked about the Peaks Print East Dress. I have it in my usual Toast size. It's generous but not one I needed to size down in. It's good on a busty figure. Quite long. I'm 172 and it's pretty much as long as I could have it. Wore it on NYE.

Noodle421 · 02/01/2023 12:18

All those buying the Tretorn boots. A note of caution. I loved mine for long dog walks. I live in a rural area- fields, woodland all very muddy for long spells over winter. I was too lazy to wash the mud off after every walk as I knew they were going to get covered again the following day. The rubber quickly started to degrade - within weeks of use - and several large holes opened up along the seam area. Stitching started fall apart. I had no problem getting a refund without quibble as they were in a pretty bad state within two months. I was surprised as I thought they were designed for this kind of terrain but I guess any boot is going to degrade if they are not taken care of properly. That said, this has not happened with my wellington boots …. they are years old and subject to the same treatment.

lordloveadog · 02/01/2023 12:21

Eek, thank you for the Tretorn boot care warning. I have the winter version (not via toast) because live somewhere which has a lot of winter. I wondered how the natural rubber would perform compared to synthetic. Will make sure to clean them and not leave outside door.

Snowyowl78 · 02/01/2023 12:36

@SmaugMum thanks for the tips! I will try it out. It does seem quite ‘springy’ so it might be a bit malleable

faustina · 02/01/2023 12:51

For the people with shrunken viscose - I have some old ghost tops which always shrink in the wash and they feel quite different (more rigid) when dry. All I need to do is iron them and they're back to normal

Surely this sale will have to last quite a while longer because of all the postal delays/bank holidays? Otherwise I don't think they will have actually sold very much once our returns arrive.

OftenOrange · 02/01/2023 12:53

Thanks for your advice re sizing on the Peaks dress, I hope it will be fine as rather late in the sale I fell for it . I’d like to embrace the boots/ shoes with ankle socks and dress vibe and thought a longer length dress would ease me in. I’m fine with cropped trousers and same ,and don’t normally worry about looking daft …..

Snowyowl78 · 02/01/2023 13:02

That’s reassuring @faustina thanks

@OftenOrange i want to do the socks too! What kind of socks would you wear?

OftenOrange · 02/01/2023 13:41

I’ve the Falke socks in greenish merino , and the Striggings in forest green ,I think either would be fine , but I need to feel that the look is me rather than emulating the 19 yr old model , hmm….

TheChattyRat · 02/01/2023 11:43

Happy new year! All the sale toast things I've got in my virtual basket haven't shifted so I am hoping they may reduce further soon.
I'm quite tempted by the forest boots also @faustina
@Laska2Meryls I am also tempted by the green version of the trousers you won. Would you recommend them? Are they winter weight? Thanks!
I've also got a potential toast repair as I snagged a dress on part of a lock - it's a really raggedy tear near the pocket. Wondering if I can do it all by post as I'm not at all near any of the shops that offer repairs. Anyone have experience of this?
My sale experience has been quite restrained too only the ticking bedding and the plum check dress but I do have 500 pounds worth in my virtual basket (won't be buying it all...)

This is my hope regarding repairs.
I.may chance it and email.them.

Snowyowl78 · 02/01/2023 09:50

I’ve managed to shrink my Turrell dress which is annoying. if anyone bought it, don’t wash it on 40! Might have to rebuy it as I really like it.

I agree with regards to ironing.
Most viscose relxes back to its normal size!

neveradullmoment99 · 03/01/2023 08:04

I know it's oos but just wondered if anyone has the landscape check dress. Hoping it might come back in stock. I'm usually a medium in Toast days (14)
Is it really huge? Would I need to size down to a small?

neveradullmoment99 · 03/01/2023 08:05

In toast these days

ToastCosILoveIt · 03/01/2023 08:49

@neveradullmoment99 , yes, it is very oversized. I am a high street 12, but in Toast I am sometimes a 10 and sometimes a 12 (definitely a 12 in Toast trousers and some of the blouses) and I have a Small in this dress which is very generous. I would suggest that you will be a Small or a Medium. If they come back into stock and you can order both sizes to try, perhaps do that?

neveradullmoment99 · 03/01/2023 08:59

Thanks @TToastCosILoveIt
I'm trying to get back to a 12, so think a small will be better. Is it quite roomy bust wise in the small?

dudsville · 03/01/2023 09:17

I was hoping for dispatch notice today. Has anyone got any?

Nope nothing so far.

It's annoying. I wish they wouldn't take the money until the orders were fulfilled.

TerrierOrTerror · 03/01/2023 10:26

I picked up my order this morning. No photos yet but will try and post some later.

I love the Plum Check dress and it's a great fit. The Olive Check dress I love the colour of, but despite it being the same size it is gaping across the bust. If it's in stock I'll order the size up, but I fear it will be too skirty on bottom.
