Sarah Chatto wears one as did Margaret, as did the queen and Eugenie as hair slides. I think they're quite lovely

I wonder if the RF actually know all the jewellery they have to choose from? Or if some of it is tucked away and they're surprised to discover it some day.

@KnickerlessParsons i completely agree, just on here catching up with the new thread. Imagine what a state your feet would be in wearing these! I particularly don’t understand why Kate wears them as it’s not as if she’s short

Very kindly, Town and Country have done a Kate retrospective. I like the red evening dress worn at the Diplomatic reception, and also the vintage Chanel jacket. The trouser suit look is a bit more modern than the dress coats!

I liked the Meghan retrospective, @KillingMeDeftly - you've just described my favourite outfit! Love that. I also like the black jumpsuit with the white trim.

The Danish courts have released new formal portraits to mark Daisy’s golden jubilee. I can’t help but wonder when they were taken, given the recent family dissent and Joachim and Marie’s move from Paris to NYC.

(Also, the resemblance between Marie and Mary seems really marked in these photos! I like that Mary is wearing a completely recycled gown - a gold evening dress to which she has added a lace overlay).

Kate's red gown was nice but something about it made me think she'd tear off the skirt at any moment and skate her short programme!

I loved the pink Vampire's Wife dress she wore on the Caribbean tour. Coupled with the straight hair rather than waves, it was a more modern look than she usually goes for.

More misses than hits for me this year from Meghan. I liked that look too, though.

Kate's pink balcony dress from the last day of the Jubilee celebrations, and the bright yellow one with gold & white shoes are my favourites from her this year, though I also loved how she looked at the Top Gun premiere.

Delurking to say I LOVE Mary's upcycled dress, the gold and blue work incredibly well together!

One of Kate's best outfits for me is the polka dot dress she wore at Ascot. Not my favourite dress by a mile but it was just so right for the occasion and she looked fabulous in it.

I was surprised by how many misses there are, I think most miss the mark. My favourite is probably the green shorts and shirt. There’s not much colour apart from the red evening dress, but unfortunately that’s my least favourite.

Mary's dress looks good and Daisy is resplendent in velvet but there's something slightly odd about the photo. I think the composition is a bit off and has Fred been enlarged??

Less coat dresses than usual, which is an improvement. I think my favourite is the white suit, it’s more modern and fresh.

The yellow and white monstrosity from the Caribbean tour is a clear winner in the worst dress category for me.

I was about to say the same re the yellow dress @Blondbombsite. It was up there with that green frilled monstrosity she wore to Ireland a few years ago! I thought the white suit was a good look too but it seemed a bit formal for a sporting event.

@KillingMeDeftly danish photo looks like it has been composed to allow Fred and Mary to be cropped off into their own photo in the future. Agree it looks weird though

It also seems a bit like our favourite birthday girl was determined to show off her dress!

Some of my 2022 favourites thanks to T&C and @Maireas.

It was certainly a year for polka dots and pussy bows. With the exception of the yellow and white Caribbean monstrosity I’m always surprised by the number of outfits that I hated initially but then grew on me.

One of the Australian papers did a ‘Mary through the years’ style feature. I’ll see if I can find it as there were some lovely outfits.

Again I shall repeat my request for the Japanese imperial family to reveal their skincare routines. This is Princess Kako (sister of the one who got married earlier this year, I think) who is turning 28 but could pass for 18!
