Didn't watch the PoW’s Carol service but I saw HMQ’s photo projected onto a piano which I thought was a bit tacky, tbh.

It was a really lovely service and they used the piano as a screen for her photos. Within the context of William's reading and then the piano rendition of 'In The Bleak Midwinter' it really worked well. My heart was stolen by the Ukrainian children's choir, who were so made up to be performing, and Charlotte's face re Paddington.
Fashion wise everyone looked better than in the photos. Movement definitely makes a difference to clothes.
Also, which I thought was interesting, they put red carpet under Charles' and Camilla's chairs. I thought that was odd and a bit pompous, maybe. But, actually, there were a lot of distance shots from high in the church and the red carpet let you orientate yourself to where everyone was. It's amazing how things seem so straightforward but obviously quite a bit of thought goes into it. And also how you can misjudge intentions and actions.
I wonder if we'll see more if that type of thing now that we don't have a queen in bright colours to show everyone where she is.

Merry Christmas all! The Sandringham church service is late - around 11am.

We watched the Together at Christmas (somewhat reluctantly on my part as Carols from Kings is very my my family’s tradition, but my husband was keen) and enjoyed it - the Ukrainian children’s choice was a delight. I read that they have sent a special recording of the performance back to the children’s fathers, most of whom are back in the Ukraine fighting. 🥲

Merry Christmas! W&K have shared a painting of a reindeer by George and I have to say it's very good for a 9yo!
